The purpose of this study was to investigate and analyze the high frequency electrocardiogram (HFECG) for middle-aged and elderly people.138 subjects were chosen in our study. The mean age was 60.38 years.Among them,72.1 per cent were between 50 and 69 years. The results showed that (1) the differences were not significant between male and female groups in the mean number of high frequency notches (HFN).(2) For an increase in high frequency notches in the leads V1 and V2,we should consider the possibility of pathological changes of the anterior medial wall of heart, which was supplied by the dessending rami of the right anterior coronary artery,on the one hand, and it might remind us to pay great attention to posteromedian wall of heart,on the other hand.(3) Looking at all age groups in this study,we preliminarily found that the age peak of ischemic heart disease was between 50 and 70 years, according to the number of high frequency notches in the leads of HFECG.(4) The sensitivity of HFECG for diagnosing ischemic heart disease is 40 per cent higher than that of the conventional ECG.(5) In addition, nine leads were used in this examination, which not only preserved sensitivity of six leads but also could provide a localizing value for the diagnosis of heart disease.

[Abstract ] Objective To investigate the molecular mechanism how genistein increased the sensitivity of colon cancer cell to 5-fluorouracil(FU)and promoted colon cancer cell apoptosis. Methods SW480 colon cancer cell line was chosen as experimental object.Genistein 80 μmol/L and 5-FU 30 μg/mL used separated or combined for 48 hours were set as drug experiment group. There were four experiment groups in this study:control group (without any drug),5-FU group, genistein group,5-FU and genistein combined group. The expression of survivin,Bcl-2,p21 ,caspase3 and caspase 9 in the tumor cells of each group at mRNA and protein level was deteced by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Western blotting. The relative expression quantity of genes was determined by comparative threshold method (2 -ΔΔCT )andβ-actin was taken as an internal reference.Semi quantitative analysis was performed for protein relative expression quantity. The DNA combination activity of nuclear factor(NF)-κB of each group was measured by electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA).Single factor analysis of variance was used for mean comparison among multiple groups and LSD test was for mean comparison between two groups. Results The expression of caspase3,caspase 9 and p21 of 5-FU and genistein combination group at mRNA (1 .903±0.122,2.726±0.050 and 2.541 ±0.393)and protein level (0.534±0.077,1 .161 ± 0.172 and 0.463±0.016)were all higher than those of control group (1 .001 ±0.052,1 .000±0.014 and 1 .001 ±0.037;0.080 ±0.043,0.248±0.059 and 0.139 ±0.021 ),genistein group (1 .559 ±0.038, 2.394±0.095 and 1 .686 ±0.061 ;0.335 ±0.052,0.478 ±0.059 and 0.304 ±0.018)and 5-FU group (1 .198±0.063,1 .051 ±0.043 and 1 .399±0.055 ;0.194±0.015 ,0.337 ±0.036 and 0.231 ±0.011 );the expression of survivin of 5-FU and genistein combined group at mRNA and protein level (0.165 ± 0.018 and 0.216±0.014)were all lower than those of control group, genistein group and 5-FU group (1 .001 ±0.033,0.775 ±0.044 and 0.395 ±0.030;0.594±0.079,0.375 ±0.014 and 0.295 ±0.014), and all the differences were statistically significant (gene,F = 802.865 ,52.760,39.992,187.288, 37.435 ;protein,F =10.466,44.483,19.490,200.011 ,45 .238;all P <0.01);the difference was also statistically significant in the expression of caspase3 and p21 of 5-FU group and genistein group compared with those of control group (LSD test,P <0.05 ).The results of EMSA assay showed that the DNA binding activity of NF-κB protein of genistein group (461.64 ±15.41 )and combined group (585.28 ±7.82) significantly decreased compared with that of control group (1 067.97 ±36.01)and 5-FU group (718.83± 23.18,LSD-test,P < 0.05).Conclusions Genistein combined with 5-FU seemed to have synergistic effects on apoptosis of colon cancer cell. The mechanism was that genistein inhibited the DNA binding activity of NF-κB mediated by genistein, further up-regulated caspase 3,caspase 9,p21 and down regulated survivin. Therefore, genistein may provide assistance in colon cancer chemotherapy.

Multi-layer perceptron (MLP) neural network belongs to multi-layer feedforward neural network, and has the ability and characteristics of high intelligence. It can realize the complex nonlinear mapping by its own learning through the network. Bipolar disorder is a serious mental illness with high recurrence rate, high self-harm rate and high suicide rate. Most of the onset of the bipolar disorder starts with depressive episode, which can be easily misdiagnosed as unipolar depression and lead to a delayed treatment so as to influence the prognosis. The early identifica- tion of bipolar disorder is of great importance for patients with bipolar disorder. Due to the fact that the process of early identification of bipolar disorder is nonlinear, we in this paper discuss the MLP neural network application in early identification of bipolar disorder. This study covered 250 cases, including 143 cases with recurrent depression and 107 cases with bipolar disorder, and clinical features were statistically analyzed between the two groups. A total of 42 variables with significant differences were screened as the input variables of the neural network. Part of the samples were randomly selected as the learning sample, and the other as the test sample. By choosing different neu- ral network structures, all results of the identification of bipolar disorder were relatively good, which showed that MLP neural network could be used in the early identification of bipolar disorder.

Objective Using 7.0 T diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) to study myocardial fibers character in isolated rats heart in aspect of water molecular diffusion, myocardial mechanics and microstructure. Methods Fixed male rats heart (n=10) underwent DTI and the myocardial structures were quantitatively measured by Diffusion Toolkit and Matlab. The characteristic of myocardial fibers arrangement was observed and FA values and ADC values of myocardial fibers, myocardial fibers density and length, mean helix angle of left ventricular were calculated as well. Mean helix angle of anterior wall, ventricular septum, lateral wall and posterior wall of epicardium and endocardium were compared by using one?way ANOVA. Results The SD rats' myocardial fibers appeared in compact and inerratic distribution from epicardium to endocardium. Compared with HE staining, regular direction and arrangement in fibers were showed in myocardial fibers tracer map and tensor map in papillary muscle plane. Quantitative analysis showed that ADC value of SD rats' myocardial fibers was (9.6 ± 3.6) × 10-4 mm2/s, FA value was 0.80 ± 0.04, myocardial fibers density was (981±24) tracks/mm3 and myocardial fibers length was (6.18±1.71)mm. Mean helix angle of left ventricular epicardium to endocardium ranged from-81.37° to 0° and then gradually change to 82.83° . There were no significant differences in mean helix angle of anterior wall, ventricular septum, lateral wall and posterior wall of epicardium and endocardium, respectively (F=2.25, 0.40, P>0.05). Conclusions This study shows that DTI is an effective method to quantitatively measure the characteristics of myocardial fibers. This study provides useful information for further study of myocardial fibers in heart disease models.

AIM Objective By comparing E.coli's resistance to antibiotics and Chinese medical herbs before and after incubated in LB containing Neomycin or Chinese medical herbs, we try to understand the difference in their mechanism of resistance. METHODS We incubated E.coli cells under the culturing media with low concentration of Neomycin and Chinese medicine herbs respectively; lately, the culturing process were continued under the media with no Neomycin or Chinese medicine herbs. We tested the minimal inhibitory concentrations(MIC)of Neomycin(Kanamycin, Gentamicin, Tetracyclin etc) and Chinese medical herbs to culture cells. Result The experimental data indicated that increased resistance of population cells in the broth including Neomycin happened easily, as well as multi resistance simultaneously. As for the Chinese medical herbs, the case is different. After growing in the LB containing one of Huang Lian (rhizoma coptidis), Berberine or San-Huang-Tang of low concentrations, population cells did not increase their resistance either to antibiotics or to Chinese medical herbs. Removing the pressure of Neomycin, E.coli population cells resistance came back to the initial level. CONCLUSION The increased antibiotic resistance of population cells is unstable, and alternative using of different antibiotics maybe contribute to the alleviation of antibiotics resistance.
