Objective To find an efficient plan for the arrangement of the beds in hospital so that the beds-operating efficiency can be raised and the requirement of patients can be perfectly met. Methods According to the data analyzed via the method of mathematical statistics, optimizing model was built and automatic stimulation program was generated as well as conducted by matlab software. Results The characteristics of bed-occupation condition was acquired by data analysis, the result of optimizing model was stimulated by program and the most efficient plan emerges which was obviously better than the original FCFS (First Come First Serve) Plan. Conclusion The mathematical model built up is of great maneuverability in the practical situation to ameliorate the management efficiency of hospital beds considerably.

Objective To investigate the cleaning effects of two different methods (modified ultrasound method VS traditional cleaning method) on endoscopy buttons, including suction button and water/gas injection button, and to provide effective clinical evidence for seeking better methods in cleaning endoscopy buttons. Methods A total of 200 endoscopy buttons were randomly divided into two groups:modified ultrasound cleaning group (experimental group) and traditional cleaning group (control group). The combination of multienzyme abluent and ultrasound vibration was applied to the experimental group and multienzyme abluent was used in the control group.ATP bioluminescence detection technology was applied to detect the residual status of organic substance and this parameter was used to evaluate the disinfection status of two different cleaning methods. Results The average organic substance residual was (217.0 ± 29.8) RLU and (42.74 ±8.6)RLU in control group and experimental group, respectively(P <0.01).The pass rates were 26% (26/100) and 87% (87/100) in in control group and experimental group respectively (P < 0.01).Conclusion Modified ultrasound cleaning method combined with multienzyme abluent and ultrasound vibration has great cleaning effects on endoscopy buttons before disinfection. It can be regarded as a new method for cleaning endoscopy buttons.

OBJECTIVETo study the concentration change of chemotherapeutic agents in plasma and tissue after intraarterial and intravenous injection.
METHODSTen mature female New Zealand rabbits were divided randomly into two groups. Fluorouracil, etopiside, and cisplatin were injected into the rabbits through the ear vein in one group and through the internal iliac artery in the other group. Blood samples and the uterus tissue specimens were collected at various time points after injection. Drug concentration in plasma and tissue was determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method. The data were analyzed by the pharmacokinetic program 3P97.
RESULTSRegular concentration change of the three drugs in plasma and tissue was observed after the intravenous and intraarterial injection, which met the two - compartment model. The pharmacokinetic parameters of the three drugs after intravenous and intraarterial injection were different. The peak concentration in plasma after intraarterial injection was lower than that after intravenous injection and the peak concentration and area under curve (AUC) value in tissue after intraarterial injections were higher than those after intravenous injection.
CONCLUSIONIntraarterial chemotherapy has advantages to intravenous chemotherapy in fluorouracil, etopiside and cisplatin. These advantages depend on the drug pharmacological properties.

Objective: Enriching secoiridoid glycoside in Gentiana manshurica kitag. Methods: Gentiana manshurica kitag. was extracted with 70% EtOH by cold macerating and purified with AB 8 macroreticular resin. Results: The content of gentiopicrin in the extract is 28.69%. Conclusion: AB 8 macroreticular resin fits in purification of water soluble secoiridoid glycoside in Gentiana manshurica kitag.

Objective To study the molecular mechanism of Bel subtype caused by mutation p.R168W of glycosyltransferase B.Methods Serological test,SSP-PCR and direct sequence the Exon6 and Exon 7 of the ABO gene.Construct a 3D molecular model and predict the structural impact of GTB protein mutations. Results A antigen or B antigen can't be detected on the surface of the propositus' RBC,and only anti-A antibodies were detected in her serum. But serological test indicated her daughter's blood type was a normal B type.SSP-PCR test indicated propositus' ABO gene type is O1 B.By gene sequencing the Exon 6 and Exon 7 of the ABO gene,a ABO Bel allel(c.502C>T,p.R168W)was discoverd in both the propositus and her daughter.Through the propositus' daughter coexisted Bel gene with normal B gene, her blood type was a normal B type. Conclusions ABO gene c.502C>T mutations cause Bel phenotypes in patients by reducing the stability of GTB.

Objective To explore the effects of a new simple device for blood collection by tail snipping in rats so as to provide a safe, practical and repeatable method. Methods The rats were held by simple devices which made from plastic bottles and block and treated by some moderate ways for blood collection. Results The device was easy to be made and handled. 20 rats could have 6 times of blood collec-tion by this device in one day. There was no mouse death and no person injure during the experimental course. Conclusion This device is a safe and ideal equipment for blood collection by tail snipping in rats.
9.Research on the arrangement of hospital beds and empirical analysis.
Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2011;28(3):607-612
This paper was aimed to find an efficient plan for the arrangement of the beds in hospitals so that the bed-operating efficiency could be raised and the requirements of patients could be perfectly met. After analyzing the data using the method of mathematical statistics, we defined the concept of "Waste Index". In addition to the concept, we realized the auto-simulation of the model using the dynamic programming model, and design the program by MATLAB. We got the characteristics of bed-occupation conditions by data analysis. We obtained the result of optimizing model by programming and the most efficient plan which was obviously better than the traditional FCFS (First Come First Serve) plan. It can be well concluded that the mathematical model should be of great maneuverability in the practical situation to ameliorate the management efficiency of hospital beds considerably.

OBJECTIVETo detect potential mutation in a Chinese family affected with succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase deficiency.
METHODSGenomic DNA was extracted from the peripheral blood samples of the proband, her family members and 100 healthy controls. All exons and flanking intronic regions of the ALDH5A1 gene were amplified by PCR and subjected to direct sequencing.
RESULTSThe proband was found to have compound heterozygous mutations of the ALDH5A1 gene, namely c.398_399delAA (p.N134X) and c.638G>T (p.R213L), for which her parents were both heterozygous carriers. The same mutations were not found among the 100 healthy controls.
CONCLUSIONThe novel mutations of the ALDH5A1 gene probably underlie the pathogenesis of the disease in the infant, which also enriched the mutation spectrum of the ALDH5A1 gene.
