ObjectiveTo investigate the neural mechanism of processing the salient target during the visual search task with spatiotemporal patterns of event-related potential(ERP).MethodsSixteen subjects were asked to judge the existence of a low or high salient target from 4 items,in which one distractor might be also salient or not.A two-way repeated-measure ANOVA was carried out for behavioral performance and ERP data( distractor saliency:YES,NO)*( target:none,low salient,high salient).ResultsSignificant interaction was found between target and distractor for the reaction time (F( 1.99,29.79) =21.56,P=0.00).For the low salient target,significant difference of reaction time was found between the YES (552.57 ± 82.32 ms) and NO (540.47 ± 75.68 ms)of distractor saliency( t (15) =- 2.489,P =0.025 ).However,such difference of reaction time was not significant for the high salient target.The statistical parametric mapping of F-value of ERP suggested the effect of the distractor saliency revealed in the right fronto-parietal-temporal areas related to stimulus novelty and the effect of the target saliency appeared in the parietal-occipital regions related to visual processing during the same stage ( 350 ～ 450ms ).The significant interaction occurred in the left temporal regions (450 ～ 600 ms ) related to stimulus familiarity and its classification.ConclusionDue to both mechanisms of the parallel processing for the target and the distractor during the perceptual stage and the effective classification of the familiar network within left hemisphere during the stage of pattern classification,the salient target can be processed quickly in spite of the interference from the salient distractor.

Objective To investigate the neural mechanism of the reduction of switch cost induced by short presentation of the task cue.Methods The event-related potentials (ERP) was recorded from 19 subjects while they performed a Chinese Stroop switching task.The factorial design of repeated-measures was adopted with the cue presentation time (100/1000 ms) and the type of succeeding task (repeat/switch).Results For the switch cost of reaction time (the switch subtracts the repeat),the difference between the long cue group (15.0 ± 33.3 ms) and the short group (0.80 -±40.7 ms) had the significantly tendency( t (18) =- 1.77,P=0.09).During the stage of cue processing,the ERP effects of cue reveal in the frontal-occipital areas ( 100 ～ 200 ms),frontoparietal and tempo-occipital regions (200 ～500 ms),frontoparietal network and centro-occipital regions (500 ～900ms).During the stage of task execution,the ERP effects of the cue were observed from the left fronto-occipital areas ( 300 ～ 400 ms) to parieto-occipital areas (400 ～ 900 ms).The ERP effects of the task started from the right hemisphere (500 ～600 ms ) and extended to bilateral prefrontal and centro-parietal area (600 ～900 ms ).Conclusion The short cue presentation can not only start up the preparation of frontoparietal network earlier during cue processing stage but also enhance its retrieval in the left dorsal lateral frontal cortex during task executive stage.

Objective To investigate the correlation between serum 25 hydroxyvitamin D[25 (OH) D] level and post-stroke depression in elderly patients with acute stroke.Methods Depression was assessed by Beck Depression Inventory (BDI),Burns Depression Checklist (BDC),and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Ⅳ in 231 elderly inpatients at 2-4 weeks after onset of acute cerebral infarction.According to the depression assessment,the patients were classified into four groups:normal group),depressive symptoms group,with mild depression group,and severe depression group.The cut-off point of 25 (OH) D level for post stroke depression was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC).Results The serum level of 25(OH)D was (23.0±1.6) nmol/L in all subjects,(25.0±1.7) nmol/L in normal group,(23.7± 1.6) nmol/L in depressive symptoms group,(22.4±1.5) nmol/L in mild depression group,(16.3± 1.5) nmol/L in severe depression group.Serum 25(OH) D level had significant differences between major depression groups and other three groups,while no significant differences were found between mild depression group,depressive symptoms group and normal group.Pearson correlation analysis showed that scores of BDI and BDC were inversely related to 25 (OH)D level (r=0.24 and-0.25,both P＜0.01).ROC curve analysis showed that the cut off point of serum 25 (OH) D level for severe post-stroke depression was 21.6 nmol/L.Conclusions Serum 25 (OH)D level is inversely related to depression.Serum 25(OH) D level is reduced in patients with severe post stroke depression.

Objective To evaluate and report the performance of PL-11 platelet analyzer.Methods Intravenous blood samples anticoagulated with EDTA-K2 and sodium citrate were tested by the PL-11 platelet analyzer to evaluate the intra-assay and inter-assay coefficient of variation (CV),carry-over rate,accuracy,linearity of the PL-11 platelet analyzer.Platelet aggregation rate of sodium citrate-anticoagulated fasting venous blood collected from 30 physical examinees in outpatient department of The First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University between February and July,2012 was detected by the PL-11 platelet analyzer and MPG-3E multifunctional double channel blood coagulation analyzer,respectively.The correlation was detected between the PL-11 platelet analyzer and MPG-3E multifunctional double channel blood coagulation analyzer.Results All the parameters were conformed to the standard of Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment 88.Both of the intra-assay and inter-assay CV values were less than 5％ ; carry-over rate was less than 1％ ; the accuracy and the linearity was excellent correlated to the result of photoelectric turbidimetry (R2 =0.9439).Conclusions PL-11 platelet analyzer can directly use whole blood dynamics to analyze platelet aggregation process and quantitatively analyze the various components of blood cells (including platelets and red blood cells),the result reports are accurate and reliable.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effects of task probability on context processing using AX-type continuous performance test (AX-CPT) and event-related potential (ERP).

METHODSWe set 3 groups of complementary probabilities (AX/AY: 0.55/0.15, 0.35/0.35, and 0.15/0.55) for AX task and AY task and kept the probability 0.15 for both BX and BY tasks. Eighteen subjects were asked to press the button only when the go-probe (X: green "<" or ">") followed the go-cue (A: blue "ooo") and withdraw response when the go-probe or a nogo-probe (Y: red "<" or ">") followed the nogo-cue (B: blue "xxx").

RESULTSAs the task probability increased, the reaction time of AX task was shortened and the rate of false alarm of BX task increased significantly. The probability effects of ERP revealed by statistical parametric mapping occurred in many regions during both cue and probe stages: cue A in the parietal central (300-350 ms) and the left occipital area (450-500 ms); cue B in the right frontal pole (350-500 ms) and the left frontal pole (750-950 ms); AX probe in the right frontoparietal area (200-250 ms), the left frontal pole, the right dorsal prefrontal and bilateral parietal region (300-400 ms), and the bilateral occipital area and parietal region (400-650 ms); AY probe in the fronto-central area (350-500 ms) - the P3 effect; BX probe in the right temporal and the left occipital areas (300-350 ms); BY probe in the left temporal area (150-250 ms).

CONCLUSIONThe task probability not only influences both the encoding of go-cue and expectancy of nogo-cue but also modulates the neural assemblies of probe processing differentially.

Objective To investigate the optimal timing of indomethacin administration on prevention of post-endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography ( ERCP ) pancreatitis. Methods The patients were randomly divided into the preoperative group and the postoperative group, and given 100 mg indomethacin in rectum within 30 min before and after ERCP, respectively. The serum levels of amylase and lipase were measured preoperatively and 4 h, 24 h postoperatively. The incidences of postoperative complications such as acute pancreatitis, hyperamylasemia, gastrointestinal bleeding, and perforation were assessed. Results A total of 340 patients were enrolled in this study from June 2014 to June 2017. The preoperative group consisted of 163 patients, including 11 cases ( 6. 75％) with post-ERCP pancreatitis ( PEP ) and 32 cases ( 19. 63％) with hyperamylasemia. Meanwhile, 177 patients constituted the postoperative group, with 25 cases ( 14. 12％) with PEP and 55 cases ( 31. 07％) with hyperamylasemia. The incidences of PEP and hyperamylasemia were significantly lower in the preoperative group than that in the postoperative group ( P = 0. 027 and P = 0. 016, respectively ) . Conclusion Preoperative use of indomethacin can better reduce the incidence of PEP than postoperative administration, without incidence increase of other complications.

Objective:To explore the effects of mindfulness-based decompression therapy on fear of disease progression, quality of life and sleep quality in patients with acute ischemic stroke, in order to provide intervention measures to alleviate fear of the disease progression degree and improve sleep and quality of life in patients with acute ischemic stroke.Methods:This study was a randomized controlled study. Using the convenience sampling method, 98 patients with acute ischemic stroke who attended the Department of Neurology at the Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University from November 2021 to September 2022 were selected for the study, and the study population was divided into experimental group ( n=49) and control group ( n=49) using the random number table method. The control group received conventional care, and the experimental group received mindfulness-based stress reduction therapy for 8 weeks in addition to conventional care. Compared the scores of the Fear of Progression Questionnaire-Short Form (FoP-Q-SF), Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QOL), and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) between the two groups of patients before and after intervention using two independent sample t-tests, and further compared the score spread of each scale before and after intervention between the two groups of patients using Mann-Whitney U test. Results:In the experimental group, 4 cases fell off and 3 cases had imperfect questionnaire information, while in the control group, 2 cases fell off and 5 cases had imperfect questionnaire information. Finally, 42 cases were included in each group. The 23 males and 19 females in the control group aged (48.31 ± 7.61) years old, while 25 males and 17 females in the experimental group aged (50.19 ± 8.64) years old. There was no significant difference in FoP-Q-SF, SS-QOL and PSQI scores between the two groups before intervention (all P>0.05). After intervention, the scores of FoP-Q-SF and PSQI in the experimental group (35.79 ± 7.04, 7.19 ± 2.58) were lower than those in the control group (38.52 ± 4.02, 9.45 ± 2.28), while the SS-QOL score (200.36 ± 21.75) was higher than that in the control group (185.41 ± 15.90), the differences were statistically significant ( t=2.19, -4.26, 3.60, all P<0.05). After intervention, the scores of FoP-Q-SF and PSQI in the experimental group were lower than those before intervention (39.69 ± 4.15, 10.00 ± 2.85), while the SS-QOL score was higher than that before intervention (176.93 ± 23.54), the differences were statistically significant ( t=4.80, 10.45, -11.43, all P<0.05). The score spreads of FoP-Q-SF, SS-QOL, and PSQI in the experimental group before and after intervention were 1.00 (0.00, 9.25), 20.00 (12.75, 32.75), 3 (1, 4), which were higher than 1.00 (-1.25, 2.00), 5.50 (1.00, 10.25), 0 (-1, 2) in the control group, the differences were statistically significant ( Z=-2.30, -5.74, -5.53, all P<0.05). Conclusions:Mindfulness-based decompression therapy can effectively relieve the fear of disease progression and improve the quality of sleep and life in patients with acute ischemic stroke.

This article reported a rare case of harlequin ichthyosis which was indicated with multiple structural abnormalities by prenatal ultrasound and diagnosed by trio-based whole-exome sequencing (Trio-WES). Prenatal diagnosis was performed because the ultrasound at 24 +4 gestational weeks revealed the fetus presenting with eclabium, flattened nose, short mandible, small auricle and abnormal posture of the toes. Copy number variation sequencing (CNV-seq) showed no chromosome aneuploidy or pathogenic copy number variants over 100 kb in the fetal or parental samples. Trio-WES showed that the fetus carried two heterozygous mutations, c.2593-1G>A and c.7444C>T in ABCA12. Sanger sequencing confirmed that c.2593-1G>A, a previously unreported variant, was paternally inherited and c.7444C>T was maternally inherited. Both parents had normal phenotype. The fetus was finally diagnosed with harlequin ichthyosis. After prenatal counseling, the parents made an informed choice to terminate the pregnancy at 28 +4 gestational weeks. The stillborn fetus showed multiple malformations The variants in this case expand the spectrum of variants in ABCA12 gene.

Objective To analyze the clinical value of laparoscopic and hybrid technique for the repair of incisional hernia.Methods The clinical data of 70 cases of incisional hernia undergoing laparoscopic and hybrid repair from Jan 2014 to Dec 2015 in Huadong Hospital were analyzed retrospectively.Results All cases were operated on successfully and recovered.The operation time was (60 ± 27) min for laparoscopic and (120 ± 32) min for hybrid repair.The length of incision was (6 ± 4) cm for laparoscopic repair and (8 ± 6) cm for hybrid.Postoperative complications included seroma in 1 case in laparoscopic group,incisional fat liquefation in 1 case in hybrid group.All were cured with conservative treatment.Hospital stay was (8 ± 5) days in hybrid group and (14 ± 16) days in hybrid group.No recurrence was observed during 6-30 months of follow-up.Conclusion Both laparoscopic and hybrid technique for incisional hernia repair are safe and effective.
