Objective: To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of pertussis in Jiaxing City from 2004 to 2023 and spatio-temporal clustering characteristics from 2022 to 2023, so as to provide insights into formulation of pertussis control measures. Methods: Data of pertussis cases in Jiaxing City from 2004 to 2023 were collected through the Infectious Disease Report Information System of Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System. The epidemiological characteristics of pertussis cases in Jiaxing City from 2004 to 2023 were descriptively analyzed, and the spatio-temporal clustering characteristics from 2022 to 2023 were analyzed using spatio-temporal scanning. Results: A total of 478 pertussis cases were reported in Jiaxing City from 2004 to 2023, with an average annual reported incidence of 0.53/105. The reported incidence showed an upward trend from 2004 to 2023 (P<0.05), with the highest in 2022 (3.17/105). Higher incidence of pertussis was reported in June to August (149 cases, 31.17%) and November to December (112 cases, 23.43%). There was no statistically significant difference in the reported incidence between males and females (0.56/105 vs. 0.50/105, P>0.05). The cases aged under one year accounted for the highest proportion, with 199 cases (41.63%). Haining City (0.68/105), Jiashan County (0.64/105) and Tongxiang City (0.60/105) ranked the top three in the reported incidence of pertussis. Spatio-temporal scanning analysis showed that from 2022 to 2023, the primary clustering area of pertussis was centered in Daqiao Town of Nanhu District, covering 27 towns (streets) in Nanhu District, Jiashan County, Xiuzhou District and Pinghu City, and the clustering time was from November to December, 2023. Conclusions The reported incidence of pertussis was at a low level in Jiaxing City, but showed an upward trend from 2004 to 2023. The incidence of pertussis was higher among infants under one year of age, peaked in June to August and November to December, and was concentrated in Nanhu District and its surrounding areas.

Objective: To investigate the epidemiological and spatio-temporal characteristics of influenza in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province, so as to provide insights into perfecting the prevention and control strategies of influenza. Methods: Data of influenza in Jiaxing City from 2019 to 2023 were collected from the Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System. Population data of the same period were collected from the Zhejiang Health Information Network Reporting System. The epidemiological characteristics of influenza were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Vector map information was collected from the Open Street Map, and the spatio-temporal clustering characteristics of influenza were analyzed using spatial autocorrelation and spatio-temporal scanning. Results: A total of 181 501 cases of influenza were reported in Jiaxing City from 2019 to 2023, with an average annual reported incidence of 653.93/105. The majority of cases were aged 5 to <15 years (59 785 cases, 32.94%). The majority of the occupations were students (78 239 cases, 43.11%) and pre-school children (33 715 cases, 18.58%). The county (city, district) with the highest reported incidence was Haining City (1 451.70/105), and the town (street) with the highest reported incidence was Chang'an Town (1 932.78/105). Spatial autocorrelation analysis showed that the incidence of influenza in Jiaxing City from 2019 to 2023 had positive spatial correlations (all Moran's I>0, all P<0.05), with a high-high clustering in the southern region. Spatio-temporal scanning analysis showed that there was a spatio-temporal clustering of influenza in Jiaxing City from 2019 to 2023, with the southern region being the primary-type clustering area and the period between November and January of the following year being the clustering time. Conclusion There was a significant spatio-temporal clustering of influenza in Jiaxing City from 2019 to 2023, with winter being the peak season and the southern region being the primary area.

Objective: To analyze the surveillance data of schistosomiasis and snail status in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province from 2001 to 2024, so as to provide the reference for prevention and control of schistosomiasis in jiaxing City. Methods: Data on schistosomiasis and snail surveillance in Jiaxing City from 2001 to 2024 were collected through schistosomiasis control work reports and the Zhejiang Provincial Schistosomiasis (Parasitic Diseases) Control Information Management System. These data included serological testing results, stool etiological examination (stool examination) results, area surveyed for snails, snail-infested areas, number of snail-positive frames, and number of live snails. Indicators, including the positive rate of serological testing, the positive rate of stool examinations, the rate of snail-positive frames, and the density of live snails were analyzed. The Prophet time series model was employed to forecast the schistosomiasis epidemic in Jiaxing City from 2025 to 2029. Results: A total of 636 493 serological testing were conducted in Jiaxing City from 2001 to 2024, with a positive rate of 1.532%, showing a decreasing trend (P<0.05). Among 7 582 stool examinations, positive cases were all imported, resulting in a positivity rate of 0.066%. During the same period, snail surveys covered a cumulative area of 30 545.999 hm2, with snail-infested areas totaling 69.355 hm2; no significant trend was observed (P>0.05). All snail habitats were identified as recurrent foci within hydrographic network regions, primarily distributed across Xiuzhou District, Nanhu District, Pinghu City, Jiashan County, and Tongxiang City, with snail-infested areas of 39.588, 12.538, 10.728, 4.315, and 2.186 hm2, respectively. From 2009 to 2024, a total of 35 692 134 frames of snails were surveyed, of which 16 543 were snail-positive, yielding a snail-positive frame rate of 0.046%. A total of 33 175 live snails were collected, with a mean density of 0.000 98 snails per frame. No infected Oncomelania snails were detected. The projection results indicated that from 2025 to 2029, the positive rate of serological testing rate in Jiaxing City would range between 0.253% to 0.389%, the snail-infested areas would range from 0.025 to 1.818 hm2, and the density of live snails would vary from 0.001 56 to 0.001 66 snails per frame. None of these indicators showed a significant trend (all P>0.05). Conclusions From 2001 to 2024, the positive rate of serological testing rate of schistosomiasis in Jiaxing City showed a declining trend, with no new autochthonous cases or infected Oncomelania snails detected. However, imported cases were still reported. All identified snail habitats were recurrent foci within hydrographic network regions. It is recommended to enhance schistosomiasis and snail status surveillance in high-risk areas.

ObjectiveTo genotype Oncomelania hupensis， based on microsatellites， in different snail-bearing environments in Jiaxing City， Zhejiang Province， for population genetics analysis in order to explore the reasons and influencing factors for the existence or proliferation of snails and to provide scientific basis for effective monitoring and control of snails. MethodsA total of 90 snail samples from three populations were collected in Yaobang Village （YB） and Sanxing Village （SX） in Pinghu City， and Yunhe Farm （YH） in Xiuzhou District， all were selected for snail checking in key snail habitats of Jiaxing City in 2022. DNA of the snails was genotyped and analyzed for population genetics using nine microsatellite loci. ResultsA total of 84 alleles were observed， and the mean number of alleles （Na） was 7.889， 5.667， and 3.778 for YB， SX， and YH respectively； the number of effective alleles （NeA） was 4.807， 3.329， and 2.294， respectively； and the coefficients of inbreeding （F_IS） were 0.400， 0.377， and 0.493， respectively. Under the Infinite Allele Model （IAM）， the SX and YH might have a recent bottleneck. The NEstimator and LDNe software calculated effective population sizes （Ne） were above 31.9. AMOVA analysis showed that the variation of snails in the three populations mainly existed among individuals， accounting for 41.4% of the total variation. The value of the index of genetic differentiation between populations （F_ST） was 0.286， indicating a high degree of genetic differentiation. The results of the principal component analysis and phylogenetic tree were consistent， and the three populations were divided into two lineages， YB and SX were one lineage， and YH belonged to another independent lineage. Population history and dynamics analysis showed that the gene flow of the three populations was insufficient， population divergence history indicated that YH might have diverged from SX first， and YB was produced by the contact fusion of SX and YH. ConclusionThe genetic diversity of snail populations in Jiaxing City is generally low， and the snail populations are unstable， with a great degree of genetic differentiation and insufficient gene flow among populations. This study can provide a basis for evaluating the effectiveness of the control of the snail as well as monitoring the trend of the spread of the snail.

Objective:To investigate the quantification assessment of segmental volume after thigh liposuction utilizing three-dimensional(3D) scanning technology.Methods:This retrospective study was performed with the analysis of 3D scanning images of patients who had undergone bilateral thigh liposuction in Body Contouring & Fat Grafting Center, Plastic Surgery Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from January 2018 to September 2022. Preoperative and postoperative 3D scanning were performed to build visual 3D models of bilateral thighs. From top to the bottom, bilateral thighs were segmented into seven sections with a space of 5 cm in acquired 3D model. Certain measurements and calculation of preoperative and postoperative volume and volume change rate of the overall thigh and each segment were conducted, to validate the efficiency of liposuction (EOL). Additionally, EOL of each thigh segment was computed and the symmetry of bilateral thighs was analyzed before and after surgery. The volume differences were computed using the paired Wilcoxon rank-sum test, and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) was exerted to assess the symmetry of bilateral thighs before and after surgery.Results:A total of 36 female patients were included in the study, with an age range of 18 to 49 years and a mean age of (28.6±7.6) years. Follow-up duration ranged from 23 to 1 133 days postoperatively, with a mean follow-up period of 274.7 days. The results of 3D scanning measurements indicated significant changes ( P<0.01) in both the overall volume of the thigh and the volumes of each segment before and after surgery. The highest volume change rate and EOL were observed in the uppermost segment, and the volumetric change rate and EOL exhibited a descending trend across the segments of the thigh from the uppermost to the lowermost segments. The ICC of the volume of each segment consistently surpassed 0.950 whether preoperatively or postoperatively, indicating a high level of symmetry between the bilateral thighs, and the ICC of overall volume showed a notable increase from 0.992 preoperatively to 0.997 postoperatively. Conclusion:3D scanning technology can be exerted to quantify the volume changes before and after thigh liposuction. This study provided quantitative and objective evidence to confirm the efficacy of thigh liposuction procedure, elucidating that the most significant liposuction effects observed in the uppermost segment of the thigh. Moreover, postoperative assessments reveal a further enhancement in bilateral thigh symmetry.

Objective:To analyze the epidemic characteristics and infection modes of human brucellosis in Jiaxing City, and provide a basis for refining brucellosis prevention and control strategies.Methods:Data on brucellosis epidemic reported in Jiaxing City from January 2021 to December 2023 were collected, and statistical analysis was conducted using descriptive epidemiology method.Results:A total of 122 cases of brucellosis were reported in Jiaxing City from 2021 to 2023, with an average annual incidence rate of 0.74/100 000. Specifically, the incidence rates from 2021 to 2023 were 0.43/100 000, 1.03/100 000 and 0.77/100 000, respectively, showing an upward trend(χ 2trend = 4.38, P = 0.036). The onset time was mainly from March to August(88 cases). The cases of brucellosis were mainly distributed in Tongxiang City (102 cases). The incidence rate of male (2.98/100 000) was higher than that of female (1.41/100 000, χ 2 = 15.00, P < 0.001). The age of onset was concentrated in 40 - 69 years old (100 cases), the incidence rate of 60 - 69 years old was higher (5.50/100 000). The main modes of infection among occupational population (72 cases) were slaughtering sheep and handling sheep scraps, accounting for 18.03% (22/122) and 17.21% (21/122), respectively. The main modes of infection for non-occupational population (46 cases) were cleaning and cooking of infected lambs and exposure to contaminated environments from diseased sheep, both accounting for 18.03% (22/122). Among them, the proportion of patients with the disease through cleaning and cooking infected lambs showed an increasing trend year by year (χ 2trend = 9.44, P = 0.002). The average time interval between the onset and diagnosis of brucellosis in patients was 20 (10, 40) d. The positive detection rate of standard tube agglutination test (SAT) in Brucella serological test was 67.88% (93/137), and the identification results of all case strains through pathogenic test were Brucella melitensis. Conclusions:The incidence rate of human brucellosis in Jiaxing City from 2021 to 2023 has shown an upward trend. The main population affected by the disease is occupational, but the proportion of non-occupational patients is increasing. Currently. It is suggested that targeted measures should be formulated for non-occupational population while implementing the prevention and control measures for occupational population.

Objective:To investigate the clinical and genetic features of 2q13 microdeletion.Methods:This study retrospectively analyzed the clinical and genetic features and prognosis of an infant who was admitted to the Fourth People's Hospital of Zhenjiang Affiliated to Jiangsu University and diagnosed with 2q13 microdeletion in October 2021. A literature review on the clinical and genetic characteristics of 2q13 microdeletion was conducted by searching CNKI, Wanfang database, Yiigle, VIP database, PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases up to March 2023, with "2q13 microdeletion" and "2q13" (both in Chinese and English) as the keywords.Results:(1) Case report: A fetus was found to have mild aortic arch stenosis and left hydronephrosis by prenatal ultrasound at 24 +2 gestational weeks. Fetal chromosomal microarray analysis following amniocentesis at 27 +6 weeks of gestation revealed a 2.23 Mb deletion at 2q13q14.1 chromosome, considered a possible pathogenic copy number variation. The newborn was delivered by cesarean section at 38 +5 weeks of gestation. Echocardiography indicated ostium secundum atrial septal defect and ultrasound showed left hydronephrosis. Other examinations detected no abnormalities. Results of imaging reexamination showed no significant changes when followed up by telephone at 13 months after birth, and a continued follow-up was recommended by the pediatrician. No other developmental abnormalities were found. (2) Literature review: There were 64 patients in 32 retrieved literature, and the one case in this report results in 65 cases. The 2q13 microdeletions can be de novo (15.6%, 10/64) or inherited from one of the parents with normal or abnormal phenotypes (35.9%, 23/64). The clinical manifestations include developmental delay (53.3%, 16/30), craniofacial abnormalities (56.8%, 21/37), and congenital heart diseases (35.0%, 14/40). In addition, some cases exhibited mental neurological symptoms with age, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (48.0%, 12/25), autism spectrum disorders (35.7%, 10/28), etc. Conclusions:The 2q13 microdeletion is complex in its clinical characteristics and incomplete in penetrance. Chromosomal microarray analysis is recommended for confirming diagnosis when related phenotypes are identified prenatally. Some cases of 2q13 microdeletion will show neuropsychiatric symptoms with age, suggesting that long-term follow-up is necessary.

Objective: To perform an epidemiological survey of the first case with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection in Pinghu City of Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province on March 13, 2022, so as to provide insights into the management of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) epidemics. Methods: According to the requirements of the Protocol on Prevention and Control of COVID-19 (8th Edition), epidemiological investigations were performed among 39 cases with SARS-CoV-2 infections in Pinghu City from March 13 to 20, 2022. Cases' demographics, clinical symptoms, history of immunization and exposure were collected, and close contacts were identified. Pharyngeal swabs were sampled from infected cases for detection of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid and whole-genome sequencing, and the source of infection and transmission route were investigated. Results: The index case for this COVID-19 epidemic was an imported case from Shanghai Municipality, who infected 6 persons via aerosol transmission when playing in the badminton venue of Pinghu National Fitness Center on March 9; subsequently, one of these infected cases infected another 18 persons when playing in the badminton venue of Jiadian Village Resident's Fitness Center in Zhapu Township on March 12. Sixteen confirmed cases were reported, and all cases were mild; another 23 asymptomatic cases were diagnosed, with no death reported. This epidemic occurred from March 11 to 20, with 3 generations of spread and a median incubation period of 3 days. The SARS-CoV-2 infected cases had a median age of 33.5 (interquartile range, 12.0) years and included 36 cases with a history of COVID-19 vaccination. There were 16 cases with fever, cough, runny nose and sore throat, and 13 cases with imaging features of pneumonia. The effective reproductive number (Rt) of the COVID-19 epidemic was 7.73 at early stage, and was less than 1 since March 21. Whole-genome sequencing identified Omicron BA.2 variant among 33 cases, which had high homology with the index cases. Conclusion This epidemic was a cluster of COVID-19 caused by imported Omicron BA.2 variant infection from Shanghai Municipality, and the COVID-19 transmission was mainly caused by indoor aerosols.

Objective: To investigate the resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis to first-line anti-tuberculosis drugs in Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province from 2017 to 2019, so as to provide insights into improvements of the therapeutic effect of pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods: Data pertaining to pulmonary tuberculosis in Jiaxing City from 2017 to 2019 were collected from the Tuberculosis Surveillance System of Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System, including demographics, treatment classification, sputum culture and drug resistance. The spectrum, types and prevalence of drug resistance in M. tuberculosis to four first-line tuberculosis drugs, including isoniazid (INH), rifampicin (RFP), streptomycin (SM) and ethambutol (EMB), was analyzed using a descriptive epidemiological method. Results: A total of 1 310 M. tuberculosis isolates were cultured from pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Jiaxing City from 2017 to 2019, and there were 259 M. tuberculosis isolates that were resistant to anti-tuberculosis drugs, with an overall drug resistance rate of 19.77%. The prevalence rates of drug resistance to INH, SM, RFP and EMB were 13.36%, 11.83%, 5.50% and 3.59%, respectively. The prevalence of drug resistance was lower in M. tuberculosis isolates from treatment-naïve patients than from retreated patients (18.45% vs. 34.58%, P<0.05). M. tuberculosis isolates presented high resistance to SM (4.50%) and INH alone (4.35%), the highest resistance to INH-SM combinations (3.28%), and the highest resistance to INH+RFP+SM combinations (1.83%). Sixteen isolates were resistant to all the four drugs, with a drug resistance rate of 1.22%. The proportions of resistance to a single drug, RFP resistance, multidrug resistance and resistance to two and more drugs were 10.31%, 5.50%, 4.73% and 4.73%, respectively. In addition, the prevalence of RFP resistance among all patients and treatment-naïve patients both showed a tendency towards a rise from 2017 to 2019 (P<0.05). The prevalence of RFP resistance (7.01% vs. 3.76%) and resistance to two and more drugs (6.01% vs. 3.25%) was both higher among interprovincial mobile tuberculosis patients than among local non-mobile patients (P<0.05). Conclusions The overall prevalence of drug resistance was lower in M. tuberculosis isolates in Jiaxing City from 2017 to 2019 than in Zhejiang Province, with INH and RFP resistance as predominant types.
