OBJECTIVE:To screen Gongshisong's active sites for anti-sports fatigue. METHODS:Gongshisong extract was prepared with 80% ethanol extraction technology, and extracted with petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate and n-butyl alco-hol after dispersed with water to obtain the extract. 70 mice were randomly divided into blank control group(1% sodium carboxy-methylcellulose,CMC-Na),positive control group [Rhodiola wallichiana capsules,590 mg/(kg·d)],petroleum ether,chloro-form,ethyl acetate and n-butyl alcohol extracts and aqueous layer of Gongshisong groups(TS,TL,TY,TZ,TW groups). Gong-shisong extracts groups was given relevant medicine 2.5 g(crude drug)/(kg·d),ig,for consecutive 7 days. Exhaustion time of bur-den swimming test was detected. 70 mice were grouped according to above method, and the contents of liver glycogen, muscle gly-cogen and the coefficient of liver were tested in mice. 80 mice were grouped according to above method, and model group was es-tablished additionally(1% CMC-Na). The contents of lactic acid(LA),creatine kinase(CK)and urea nitrogen(BUN)in serum of mice were determined after 90 minutes of unburden swimming. RESULTS:Compared with blank control group, exhaustion time of burden swimming mice in TS,TY and TZ groups prolonged;the content of liver glycogen increased in TY,TZ and TW groups;the content of muscle glycogen increased in TS and TW groups;the contents of BUN,LA and CK in mice increased in model group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Compared with model group, the serum content of BUN in mice decreased in TS and TY groups;that of LA in mice decreased in TZ and TW groups;that of CK in mice decreased in TS group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). CONCLUSIONS:The petroleum ether and n-butanol extract site and water layer of Gongshisong are good anti-fatigue active sites.

Objective To investigate the clinical effects of gliclazide sustained-release tablet for recently diag-nosed type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods 118 subjects with recently diagnosed type 2 diabetes and normal figure were divided into three groups. The three group subjects used gliclazide sustained-release tablet, repaglinide(import-ed) ,novolin 30R for 12 weeks, respectively. For all pretherapy and post-treatment cases, blood glucose and glycosy-lated hemoglobin were tested before meal. After two hours of meal, blood glucose was tested again. Meanwhile, hypo-glycaemia event was inspected. The test results were analyzed by "mean ± standard deviation" method. Results There are no significant difference(P>0.05) in fasting blood sugar and postprandial blood sugar(2h) level between the group using gliclazide sustained-release tablet and the group using novolin 30R. The clinical effects of both gli-clazide sustained-release tablet and novolin 30R to fasting blood sugar are all better than that of repaglinide(import-ed) (P < 0.01). But there are no significant difference in postprandial blood sugar(2h) level between the group of us-ing gliclazide sustained-release tablet and the following two group: repaglinide(imported) and novolin 30R. Conclu-sion The investigation results show that gliclazide sustained-release tablet is better than repaglinide(imported) in fasting blood sugar. But for the effects of postprandial blood sugar(2h), there is no significant difference between gli-clazide sustained-release tablet, repaglinide(imported) and novolin 30R.

Objective To investigate the effect of hyperurieemia on cardiovascular and cerebrovaseular complications in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Methods According to the level of blood uric acid,430 patients with T2DM were divided into hyperuricemia group and non-hyperurieemia group, the differences of uric acid(UA) ,creatine(Cr) ,total cholesterol(TC) ,triglyeride(TG) ,fasting blood glucose(FBG) ,glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c) and body mass index(BMI) were compared, and the occurrences of coronary heart disease, hypertension and acute cerebrovascular accidence were observed. Results The FBG and HbAIc were not significantly different between the two groups(P>0.05). The BMI ,TG,TC and Cr in the hyperurieemia group were significantly higher than those in the non-hyperuricemia group(P<0.05 ). The incidence rates of coronary heart disease, hypertension and acute cerebrovascular diseases in the hyperuricemia group were also significantly higher than those in the non-hyperuricemia group (P<0.05 ). Conclusion Hyperuricemia is obviously correlated with obesity and blood lipid abnormalities. Hyperurieemia can aggravate the metabolic disturbances, and can accelerate the occurrence and development of cardiovascular and eerebrovascular diseases in the patients with T2DM.

World Science and Technology-Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2014;(4):723-730
Objective: In China, doctors at TCM hospitals and clinics often divide patients with a Western medicine (WM) disease into several syndrome classes from the TCM perspective and treat patients in different classes using different principles. A key problem is how to carry out the classification properly. We propose an evidence-based ap-proach for solving the problem where evidence is obtained by analyzing unlabeled symptom data using latent tree models.Method: In previous work, we have shown how latent tree analysis of symptom data can be used to identify TCM syndrome classes among patients with a WM disease. In the paper, we investigate how to establish classification rules for distinguishing between the classes. Results: We have applied the method to a data set about Vascular Mild Cognitive Impairment that involves 93 symptoms and 803 patients. Nine syndrome types are identified, along with the corresponding classification rules. Conclusions: An evidence-based approach to the TCM patient classification prob-lem has been developed. The approach can be used to answer the following questions about a WM disease: What TCM syndrome classes are there? What are the sizes of the classes? What are the statistical characteristics of each class? How can one differentiate between the different classes?
