1.Death reason analysis of Chinese 5 ~ 14 years children in rural and urban areas in 2008

Objective To investigate death reasons for China rural and urban children who aged between 5 and 14 years old during 2008.Methods Using the illness or injury causes of death and demographic indicators of China Health Statistics Yearbook 2009 to describe 5 to 14 year-old children' s disease-related indicators and causes of death,compare difference between rural and urban children.Results Hospitalization rates (23.0‰ vs 12.1‰, χ2 = 255.584 ), prevalence of two weeks (79.8‰ vs 63.9‰, χ2= 142.446 ), attendance of two weeks (95.6‰ vs 68.1‰, χ2 = 376.954) and prevalence of chronic diseases (9.0‰ vs 7.0‰, χ2 = 18.941 ) of 5 to 14year-old children in rural were all higher than urban children, with statistically significant difference.Injury and poisoning,cancer,congenital diseases were the top three causes of death for 5 to 14 children.In many diseases which caused injury and poisoning,drowning was the first cause of death ,traffic accidents accounted for the second place;suicide was the fourth cause of death for city children and second cause of death for city girls.Conclusion High-risk death reasons for Chinese 5 to 14 year-old children in 2008 are the same, but disease threat on the death of are in varying degrees ,which shows urban-rural and gender differences.
2.Potential Occupational Risk Factors onto CSSD Staff and Corresponding Protective Measures

OBJECTIVE To analyze occupational risk factors onto Central Sterile Supply Department(CSSD) staff caused by actual working conditions and provide correspondingly protective measures.METHODS Take actions,such as circulating the air inside working site,eliminating contamination which brought into by biological and chemical methods,and avoiding physical fatigue etc,which summarized by practical study and analysis on the(various) factors during daily work routine,e.g.physical factor,chemical factor,biological factor and psychological factor.RESULTS All methods mentioned in this article could improve self-protection awareness of CSSD staff and(enhance) the physical condition of staff as well as reduce pollution on environment.CONCLUSIONS For preventing the threats of occupational risk factors,it′s critical to reduce or eliminate the negative factors in CSSD.
3.Investigation about the development tendency of behavioral medicine from papers published in domestic and overseas

Objective To investigate the development tendency of behavioral medicine from papers published in domestic and overseas. Methods Using assist decision support system of science and technology (STADS) to form quantitative expression of academic attention to "Behavioral Medicine". Results In last 30 years, behavioral medicine developed and grew rapidly. The number of domestic and international literatures increased remarkably. The growth rates of domestic and foreign literature were respectively 35.7% and 33.7%,some professional journals and more powerful professional scientific research institutions and core authors who acquired patents and cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements were initially developed.Conclusion Behavioral Medicine uses the advantages of interdisciplinary, focusing on pathogenic mechanisms,influencing factors and treatment, rehabilitation mechanism of psychological and behavioral factors, especially on the effect social and family environment on human physical and mental health, to promote health promotion and medical pattern changing.
4.Establishment of comprehensive evaluation index system for maternal health seeking behavior

Objective To establish the evaluation index system on maternal health seeking behavior with Delphi method.Methods Based on Andersen health service utilization models,literature analysis was used to establish evaluation index system on maternal health seeking behavior,then Delphi method was carried out to revise index system through two rounds questionnaire consulting from 24 experts.Results The confirmed index system of maternal health seeking behavior included 4 first-level index,12 second-level index and 57 third-level index.The average authority degree of experts were 0.869,and the coordination coefficients of expert in the total index were 0.195 and 0.166(P<0.01).The weight coefficients of the indicators at first level were 0.1529,0.3403,0.2786 and 0.2281,respectively.Condusion The representativeness,authority degree and coordination of expert are good,and the tentatively established evaluation index system on maternal health seeking behavior is scientific and reasonable.
5.Effect of Cyclosporine A on stable established lymphoma models induced by Epstein-Barr virus

Objective:To study the effect of Cyclosporine A(CSA) on inhibiting graft versus host reaction(GVHR) occured in hu PBL/SCID chimeras and to stably establish EBV induced lymphoma models.Methods:Human peripheral blood lymphocyts were isolated and were inoculated intraperitoneally into SCID mice.Mice were infected with EBV and injected intraperitoneally with CSA.Human sIL 2R in the serum of hu PBL/SCID chimeras were analyzed by ELISA.Results:No mouse was dead in CSA group,whereas 15 mice of the other three groups died of GVHR.The medium life span of no CSA administration mice was 17 days,and motalities were 55.56%(5/9),30.43%(7/23),42.86%(3/7)respectively.The difference was statistically significant between CSA group and the other groups.The levels of human sIL 2R were stable in CSA group while increased gradually in experimental infertion the groups without CSA.Difference was significant at day 15 and day 22 between the EBV infection group without CSA and with CSA administration.Of 38 survival SCID mice,24 mice developed tumors in their body cavities.Conclusion:CSA can strikingly inhibit GVHR that may occur in hu PBL/SCID mice,that could help practical to stably establish the lymphoma models.
6.Analysis on influencing factors of health seeking behavior of delivery women in Guangdong province

ObjectiveTo explore the influencing factors of health seeking behavior of delivery women in Guangdong province.MethodsStratified random sampling method was used,and 1491 delivery women from primary,secondary and tertiary hospitals were investigated with self-made maternal health seeking behavior questionnaire.Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the impact of environmental factors and population characteristics on health seeking behavior.ResultsDelivery women with qualified health seeking behavior account for 83.4%.Present pregnancy was planned (OR=2.114),prenatal examination was needed when self-feeling good (OR=2.323),social medical insurance system was socialized medicine (OR=2.755) or medical insurance (OR=1.697),hospital level of secondary hospital (OR=1.568) or tertiary hospital (OR=1.800) were independent positive influencing factors of health seeking behavior.ConclusionThe qualified rate of health seeking behavior of delivery women in Guangdong province is low.Delivery women with the following characteristics of low educational level,low family income,uninsured,coming from rural area and delivery in primary hospital need to be guided scientifically at seeking for health.
7.Analysis of occipital lobe activation during functional MRI in patients with open-angle glaucoma and correlation with clinical results

Objective To evaluate the activation of the visual cortex in patients with primary openangle glaucoma (POAG) and to explore whether the neuronal activity corresponds with retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) and cup-to-disc (C/D) values.Methods Twenty-five patients and 25 gender-and agematched healthy volunteers were studied.Blood oxygenation level-dependent functional magnetic resonance imaging (BOLD-fMRI) and three-dimensional brain volume imaging (3 D BRAVO) sequences were obtained using 3 T MR imaging system.A full-screen black-white shift checkerboard was used for visual stimulus during the fMRI experiment and was performed on each eye of all subjects using a visual-acoustical system.All acquired data were postprocessed and analyzed by statistical parametric mapping (SPM).After analysis,individual activated mapping,intra-group mean activated mapping,and inter-group variant mapping were observed.The voxel number,intensity,and Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) coordinate of the activated clusters were recorded.The Xjviewer software was utilized to obtain activated voxel numbers in occipital lobe.A Pearson correlated test was performed to test the correlation between the number of activated voxels and RNFL,C/D and Hodapp-Anderson-Parrish (HAP) clinical stage.Results Intra-group mean activated mappings of both patients and volunteers showed obvious activation in bilateral occipital lobes.As compared with healthy volunteers,the POAG patients exhibited statistically significantly decreased activation in bilateral occipital lobes,left hippocampus,and left cerebellum,along with lower mean RNFL [(71.56 ±21.54) i m versus (111.88 ± 9.96) μm] and higher C/D values (0.71 ± 0.18 versus 0.36 ± 0.08 ; t value was respectively-10.901 and 11.643,P < 0.05).The number of activated voxels in the occipital lobes of POAG patients did not correlate with RNFL,C/D and HAP clinical stage of the corresponding eye (r value was respectively 0.157,-0.113 and-0.242,P > 0.05).Conclusions fMRI demonstrated differences in visual cortex activation in POAG patients relative to healthy volunteers,suggesting it might be a promising complementary method for diagnosing glaucoma.However,fMRI findings did not correlate with POAG extent,as measured by RNFL and C/D values.Ophthalmological examination remains to play an important role in the evaluation of open-angle glaucoma.
8.Mechanisms underlying the urotensin Ⅱ-induced proliferation of and α-smooth muscle actin expression in human dermal fibroblasts

Objective To evaluate the effects of urotensin Ⅱ on cell proliferation of and α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) expression in normal human dermal fibroblasts (NFs),and to explore their regulatory mechanisms.Methods NFs were isolated from foreskin tissues and subjected to primary culture in vitro.Reverse transcription PCR and Western blot analysis were performed to measure the mRNA and protein expression of urotensin Ⅱ and its receptor,respectively.Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay was conducted to estimate the proliferation of NFs,which were treated with urotensin Ⅱ at different concentrations of 0,10-10,10-9,10-8,10-7 and 10-6 mol/L for 0,6,12,24 and 48 hours separately,and then the optimal concentration and duration of urotensin Ⅱ exposure were selected to be 10-8 mol/L and 24 hours respectively.Some cultured NFs were divided into 5 groups:control group receiving no treatment,U Ⅱ group treated with 10-8 mol/L urotensin Ⅱ,U Ⅱ + nicardipine group treated with 10-8 mol/L urotensin Ⅱ and the calcium channel blocker nicardipine at the concentration of 10-5 mol/L,U Ⅱ + PD98059 group treated with 10-8 mol/L urotensin Ⅱ and the mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK)inhibitor PD98059 at the concen-tration of 10-5 mol/L,and U Ⅱ + cyclosporine group treated with 10-8 mol/L urotensin Ⅱ and the calcium-dependent protein kinase (CaM PK) inhibitor cyclosporine at the concentration of 10-5 mol/L.After 24-hour treatment,CCK-8 assay was conducted to evaluate the proliferation of NFs in the above groups,real-time fluorescence-based quantitative PCR and Western blot analysis were performed to determine the mRNA and protein expression of α-SMA respectively.Results Urotensin Ⅱ receptor was expressed in NFs,but urotensin Ⅱ was not.The proliferative activity of NFs significantly differed among the control group,U Ⅱ group,U Ⅱ + nicardipine group,U Ⅱ + PD98059 group and U Ⅱ + cyclosporine group (the mean absorbance value at 405 nm:1.036 ± 0.046,1.405 ± 0.158,1.121 ± 0.109,1.192 ± 0.089 and 1.141 ± 0.056,respectively;F =9.587,P < 0.01),and the U Ⅱ group showed significantly higher proliferative activity of NFs compared with the control group,U Ⅱ + nicardipine group,U Ⅱ + PD98059 group and U Ⅱ + cyclosporine group (q =8.263,6.355,4.774 and 5.912,respectively,all P < 0.05).There were significant differences in the mRNA and protein expression of α-SMA among the 5 groups (F =6.351,7.045,both P < 0.01),and the mRNA and protein expression of α-SMA was significantly higher in the U Ⅱ group than in the other 4 groups (all P < 0.05).Conclusion Urotensin Ⅱ may induce the proliferation of and α-SMA expression in NFs through calcium channels,MAPK and CaM PK pathways.
9.Analysis of HLA-DQB1 polymorphism for patients with allergic rhinitis of Uygur and Han people in Xinjiang.

OBJECTIVE:
To investigate the association of HLA-DQB1 alleles and artemisia pollen allergic patients of Han and Uygur people in the Xinjiang area.
METHOD:
PCR-SSP (sequence-specific primer polymerase chain reaction) were used to test fifty Uygur and fifty Han people with allergic rhinitis with hypersensitivity to artemisia pollen in the Xinjiang area. Fifty normal Uygur and fifty normal Han people in the Xinjiang region were enrolled in the control group.
RESULT:
The frequency of HLA-DQB1 * 05 in the Uygur group with allergic rhinitis was significantly higher (19.4%) than that in the Uygur control group (7%) (P < 0.05). There were no significant difference between in the allergic rhinitis group and in the control group.
CONCLUSION
HLA-DQB1 * 05 might be the susceptibility genes of the Uygur patients with allergic rhinitis in the Xinjiang area.

Transposition of simple or composite forearm island flaps with a radial vascular pedicle was performed in repairing tissue defects of the hand and reconstruction of the thumb in 16 patients. It was found to be easy to operate and no suturing of blood vessels was necessary. The postoperative swelling was less marked. The flap was good in texture and sensation after the operation. The overall result wassatisfactory. Anatomic-physiological situdy was also carried out. 16 patients have been operated on, including 2 thumb reconstructions, with satisfactoryresults.
