1.Records and reflections of teaching assistant's participation in the teaching of authentication of TCM

Teaching assistant was introduced to solve the outstanding issues in the teaching of authentication of TCM, such as irrationality for teaching subjects, separated theory and practice, incomplete evaluation system. With the help of teaching assistant, the new generation was able to play the advantages on Web-based course and WeChat subscription, and the students are encouraged to apply new media flexibly. Practice teaching was introduced into class to increase the combination of theory and practice. Teaching assistant played an important role in evaluation mechanism standardization and specialization, and forming the basis for formative evaluation. Updating the teaching mode, forming the strategy of autonomous learning and interactive teaching, we are hoping to improve the teaching quality of authentication of TCM, improve students' interest in specialized courses, and to provide reference for better teaching assistants' working and selection.
2.Is diabetes mellitus an inflammatory disease?

Recent evidences suggest that inflammatory factors play improtant roles in the pathogenesis and development of type 2 diabetes. The interaction of inflammatory factors with adipokines, oxidative stress and immune system causes insulin resistance and impairment of ? cell structure and function, and results in type 2 diabetes. Inflammation hypothesis of diabetes will provide a new research field in the pathogenesis of diabetes and in the development of new preventive and therapeutic drugs for diabetes.
3.Expolration of Diagnosis and Treatment for Ischemic Colitis

Objective To explore diagnosis and treatmnet method for ischemic colitis(IC).Methods 29 patinets with IC included:their clinical manifestation lesions,using endoscopic seen,pathological features, X-ray barium enema examination and treatment were restrospectively analysed.Results IC occurred most frequently in mid-aged and elders with predominant presentations as sudden onset of lower left abdominal pains and bloody stools.Endoscopic lesions located mainly in left colon.Mucosal edema,erosion and submucosal bleeding were common pathological features.Barium enemata had few findings.Combined traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine or plus operations had good effectes.Conclusions IC should be suspected in all elder patients with sudden onset of lower left abdominal pain and bloody stools.Early colonoscopy is of diagnostic significance .Combination of traditional and werstern methods had good effectes,chroni IC patients should be treated timely.
4.Research on the application of pivot table auxiliary function in hospital human resources system

Objective:To use pivot tables will pay the most valuable information in the table, add, reduce staff this month, and does not increase don't decreases but the amount of personnel data extract and work department is changed.Methods: Use pivot table to find differences, by adding auxiliary column identifier (1,-1) to solve the existing in the personnel salary is different.Results:Dynamic understanding of the inflows and outflows of hospital employees, in order to grasp the change situation of hospital human resource cost.Conclusion: It saves the human, fast and convenient, improves the work efficiency and accuracy.
5.Effect of Probiotics on Blood Lipid Metabolism of Elderly Patients with Coronary Heart Disease

Objective To investigate the effect of probiotics on the blood lipid metabolism of elderly patients with coronary artery disease (CHD).Methods The clinical data of 100 elderly CHD patients who were admitted in our hospital from May 2012 ~November 2015 were collected.The enrolled patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group,50 cases in each group.All patients were routinely given medication for secondary prevention of CHD,patients in the observation group were additionally given oral probiotics.Then we observed the changes in the lipid levels of patients before and after 12 weeks treatment.Results The serum total cholesterol (TC),triglyceride (TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) of patients in the observation group were improved more significantly than the control group,the difference was significant (P<0.05).The serum total High-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) was improved more significantly than the control group.Conclusion Probiotics adjuvant therapy can significantly improve the blood lipid indexes in elderly CHD patients.

Objective To study the clinical results of phacoemulsification with foldable posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation(PC-IOL) in the management of angle-closure glaucoma with cataract.Methods Phacoemulsification with PC-IOL implantation was performed on 58 eyes(52 cases),after a mean postoperative follow-up of (16.50?6.20) months.Results The best corrected visual acuity was improved in 53 of 58 eyes.The intraocular pressure was reduced from a preoperative mean of (19.56?3.36)mmHg to a postoperative mean of (14.26?3.20)mmHg(P
7.Control study on diagnosis of intestinal bleeding by capsule endoscopy and operation

Objective To evaluate the diagnosis of intestinal bleeding by capsule endoscopy ( CE) , and compare with the result of operation. Methods All patients experienced CE had failed to get definite diagnosis from conventional endoscopy. Of 50 consecutive patients, 28 with intestinal bleeding episodes more than 5 times (group A) , 14 with 2-5 times(group B) and 8 with only oace (group C) ,totally 18 patients had received operation. Results Of these 50 patients, 39 ( 78. 0 % ) had abnormal findings, which could be considered as the etiology of bleeding. Abnormal proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) plays an important role in several pathological processes of cardiovascular diseases. In this study, the effects of XCT790, a potent and selective inverse agonist of estrogen-related receptor alpha (ERRalpha), on rat VSMCs proliferation and related signal pathways were investigated. The proliferative activity of VSMCs was determined by CCK-8 assay. The mRNA levels of ERRalpha, PGC-1alpha, OPN and MCAD were assayed by RT-PCR. The protein levels of ERRalpha, ERK2 and p-ERK1/2 were evaluated by Western blotting. ELISA was used to assess the protein expression of VEGF. The results showed that XCT790 (5-20 micromol x L(-1)) inhibited rat VSMCs proliferation, and the expression of ERRalpha and its target genes, as well as p-ERK1/2, were also inhibited. XCT790 inhibited VSMCs proliferation in a dose-dependent manner at the dose range from 5 to 20 micromol x L(-1) and in a time-dependent manner at the dose range from 10 to 20 micromol x L(-1). These findings demonstrate that XCT790 inhibits rat VSMCs proliferation by down-regulating the gene level of ERRalpha and thus inhibiting the ERK signal pathway, suggesting that ERRalpha may be a novel potential target for therapeutic approaches to inhibit VSMCs proliferation, which plays an important role in several cardiovascular diseases.
9.The modified BCLC staging system improves predictability of early intrahepatic recurrence for hepatocellular carcinoma following curative hepatectomy

ObjectiveTo evaluate the modified Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer (BCLC) staging system for predictability of intrahepatic recurrence for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) following curative hepatectomy.MethodsA retrospective study was conducted on 197 consecutive patients with HCC who underwent curative hepatectomy in our department from Jan.2008 to Jan.2011.Univariate and multivariate analyses using Cox proportional hazard model were used to evaluate possible association between clinicopathologic factors and early postoperative intrahepatic recurrence (ER).Receiver operating characteristics (ROC) analysis with calculation of the area under the curve (AUC),sensitivity,and specificity were applied to define the cutoff point values for possible meaningful continuous variables where appropriate.A comparison between the differences in AUC was used to assess BCLC and a modified BCLC (M-BCLC) staging system for their predictive ability of ER.Risk stratification according to calculated M-BCLC was applied to find differences of ER at various time points after curative hepatectomy.ResultsDuring follow-up,111 patients developed ER.The 6-,9-,12-,18- and 24-month cumulative recurrent rates were 26.9% (53/197),37.6% (74/197),45.2%(89/197),53.8% (106/197) and 56.3% (111/197),respectively.Multivariate analysis revealed thatthe severity of concomitant cirrhosis,elevated AFP≥185.6 μg/L and BCLC staging were risk factors of ER.A M-BCLC was proposed based on the results of multivariate analysis.The severity of cirrhosis and elevated AFP values were included in the BCLC staging.This M-BCLC exhibited better performance.It predicted at different time points of ER at postoperative 9,12,18 and 24 months to be significantly better with M-BCLC than BCLC using AUC drawn from ROC.No significant difference was found with ER prediction at 6 months.The M-BCLC also demonstrated a ER prediction with AUC of 0.710 (95% CI,0.630-0.790) and achieved a sensitivity of 83.0%,a specificity of 51.9%as calculated from ROC with M-BCLC≥2.913.Further risk stratification according to the M-BCLC at various cutoff point values revealed the ER occurrence rates amongst the different risk groups to be significantly different when compared with the median ER time (17.9 mons,9.9 mons vs 5.7 mons,x2=25.770,P=0.000,Log-Rank test).ConclusionA modified BCLC staging system based on multivariate analysis improved the predictability of ER following curative hepatectomy for HCC.
10.Sophoridine inhibits NF-kappaB signaling pathway activation in kidney tissue of endotoxemia mice.

This study is to investigate the effects of sophoridine on NF-kappaB signaling pathway in kidney tissue of endotoxemia mice and the mechanism involved. BALB/c mice were challenged with lipopolysaccharide (LPS) caudal vein injection, then sophoridine was administered by intraperitoneal injection. Totally 50 mice were divided into 5 groups: control group, LPS model group, sophoridine treatment 12 mg x kg(-1) group, 6 mg x kg(-1) group and 3 mg x kg(-1) group. All animals were sacrificed at 6 hours after treatment. Kidney and blood samples were harvested. IKKbeta mRNA and TNF-alpha mRNA expression of renal tissue was measured by the reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), and phosphorylation IKKbeta protein (pIKKbeta) was detected by immunohistochemistry. NF-kappaB P65 protein expression and distribution of renal tissue were observed by Western blotting and immunofluorescence laser confocal microscopy. Serum TNF-alpha level was detected by radioimmunoassay. The results showed that the sophoridine significantly reduced the expression of IKKbeta mRNA and pIKKbeta protein, and inhibited the expression of NF-kappaB P65 protein and decreased the entry nuclear rate of NF-kappaB P65 in the renal tissue of endotoxemia mice. Thereby the renal TNF-alpha mRNA expression and serum TNF-alpha level were significantly reduced. These results suggest that sophoridine could inhibit inflammatory reaction induced by LPS through inhibiting activation of NF-kappaB signaling pathway.
