Objective Through a survey of medical students in autonomous learning, to understand students' learning motivation and learning strategies and find out the existing problems, and to provide the basis for the school to organize autonomous learning and improve the teaching quality. Methods Convenient sampling method was used to extract 1 500 students' autonomous learning scale who were freshman and sophomore, junior students and 1 467 valid questionnaires were collected. According to the corresponding research situation of Zhejiang Normal University, SPSS 19.0 was used to compare the different types of students in the school, and the t test or q test were also done. Results The situation of college students' autonomous learning was better. The girl's average score was (312.51 ±14.03) which was higher than the boys in the school (286.16 ±13.69)and the girls in the control group (302.67 ±10.37). The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The average total score of the junior college students (307.92 ±13.84) was better than that of freshman and sophomore (P<0.05), which suggested that junior students had the strongest independent learning ability. Conclusion Colleges and universities should be based on the actual situation of students and formulate corresponding policies and measures from the autonomous learning motivation, the boys dor-mitory management, to ensure the stability of teaching quality improvement.

AIM: To establish the preparative method of dispersible tablet of total notoginseng saponin (DTTNS) by powder direct compression,and to evaluate it pharmaceutical characteristics. METHODS: The effect of factors on the disintegration of DT-TNS was investigated by single factor method,and the formulation was optimized through orthogonal design. RESULTS: The disintegration time of DT-TNS containing 40% total notoginseng saponin was within 1 min while the formulation mainly consisted of 49% MCC as filler,12% of PVPP mixed with 3% L-HPC as disintegrating agent. In addition,the dissolution of DT-TNS was almost finished in 10-15 min. CONCLUSION: The preparative method of DT-TNS by powder direct compression is simple,with short disintegration time and high dissolution rate.

Objective To observe the expression of GATA-3 and IL-13 in mice with radiationinduced lung fibrosis,and to study the function of GATA-3.Methods A total of 63 C57BL/6 female mice were randomly into 2 groups,including 21 mice in control group and 42 mice in irradiated group.The thoraces of mice in irradiated group were exposed with 12 Gy of X-rays.All the mice were sacrificed at 1 h,and 1,2,4,8,16 and 24 weeks post-irradiation.The lung issues were stained by using HE and Masson methods to determine the histological changes.The expression of IL-13 in serum,and the expression of hydroxyproline and the mRNA and protein of GATA-3 in lung tissue were assayed.Results Compared with control group,there was a significant histological and pathologic change in irradiated group.The content of hydroxyproline in irradiated group was significantly higher than that in control group( Z =3.14,P ＜0.05).The expressions of GATA-3 and IL-13 were found in mice post-irradiation.Without causing conspicuous fibrotic pathological changes,there was a significantly elevated expression of Th2-specific transcription factor GATA-3 mRNA at 1 and 2 weeks post-irradiation ( t =6.50,6.33,P ＜ 0.01 ),while the expression of IL-13 reached the maximal value in serum at 16 weeks post-irradiation( t =32.21,P ＜0.01 ).Conclusions GATA-3 might play a role in promoting radiation-induced pulmonary fibrosis by upregulation of expression of Th2 cytokine IL-13.

Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of telomerase in the diagnosis of lung cancerusing SROC curve method.Methods Looking“telomerase”and“lung cancer”as keywords,retrieving journalspublished within past 20 years in order to incorporate into literatures and to collect data .To conduct the SROC analysisusing Meta -DiSc 1.4 software.Results 1.Twenty -two documents were sampled as tissue specimensand the heterogeneity was relatively large (P =0.017).To analyze the data with random effective models ,thecombined sensitivity and specificity were 0.788(0.761 -0.814)and 0.955(0.936 -0.969),respectively.TheSROC AUC area under the curve was 0.9515,SE(AUC) =0.0145.2.There was no heterogeneity(P =0.633)amongthe 10 lavaged literatures.By use of fixed effects model for data analysis ,the combined sensitivity and specificitywere 0.777(0.734 -0.816) and 0.922(0.888 -0.948),and SROC AUC area under the curve was0.9369,SE(AUC) =0.0141.Conclusion Telomerase is a ideal tumor marker,and the detection of telomeraseactivity in lavage fluid is stable and accurate in clinical diagnosis .

Objective To investigate the function of apoptosis in the renal injury by observing change of renal pathology and ultrastructure in the rat with obstructive jaundice(OJ) and if salvia miltiorrhiza(SM) can lighten the renal dysfunction of obstructive jaundice.Methods A total of 100 adult Sprague-Dawley rats were studied.Among them,the 80 models of obstructive jaundice were established by ligating bile duct(BDL),then divided into two groups: the OJ rats administered daily abdomen injections of SM(1.7g per rat) after operation of bile duct ligation(the SM group,n= 40);the OJ rats receiving only the same normal saline(the OJ group,n=40).The other rats with sham operation receiving only normal saline(the control group,n=20).Three groups of rats were sacrificed in groups at postoperation 1,2,3 and 4 week,respectively.Then serum BUN & Cr were tested and renal change of histopathology and ultrastructure were observed;Apoptosis of renal tissue were assayed by TUNEL method.Results With the time of BDL extending,the value of serum BUN & Cr increased;Apoptotic cells increased in renal tissue.After treatment with SM,the injury degree of renal function and histopathologic changes decreased.Conclusion Obstructive jaundice can lead to renal injury.Apoptosis had an important effect on renal function injury in the rat with obstructive jaundice.Salvia miltiorrhiza can ease the degree of renal function injury.

Objective To investigate the relationship of the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax protein with apoptosis of renal tubular epithelia in rats with obstructive jaundice(OJ).Methods A total of 60 adult Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats were divided into two groups: OJ rats by ligating bile duct(OJ group,n= 40) and the sham-operation rats(the control group,n=20).The two groups of rats were sacrificed at postoperative 1,2,3 and 4 week,respectively.Then serum BUN and Cr levels were tested and renal histopathological and ultrastructural changes were observed.Apoptosis of renal tissues was assayed by TUNEL method.The immunohistochemical Elivision~(TM) technique was adopted for detecting the Bcl-2 and Bax protein expression.Results With the time of OJ prolonging,the value of serum BUN and Cr increased;apoptotic cells of renal tubular epithelia increased.There were obvious differences in Bcl-2 and Bax protein expression of between OJ and control groups(P

BACKGROUND: Angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang-Ⅱ) can stimulate vascular endothelial cells to excrete endothelin, a kind of potent vasoconstrictor. The content of endothelin in blood or cell culture media directly reflects the function and injured status of vascular endothelial cells. Therefore, it is significant for strengthening vascular endothelial cells to resist the injured factors. Tea polyphenols is a mainly active component of tea, and it is considered as a reagent for anti-atherosclerosis, protecting injuries of vascular endothelial cells and preventing cardiovascular diseases. OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of tea polyphenols in different concentrations on endothelin content in vascular endothelial cells induced by Ang-Ⅱ at various time points through establishing Ang-Ⅱ-induced vascular endothelial cell injury models and further to investigate the protective effect of tea polyphenols on vascular endothelial cells. DESIGN: Observational study.SETTING: Aerospace and Diving Medical Center, Navy General Hospital of Chinese PLA.MATERIALS: The experiment was carried out in Laboratory of Aerospace and Diving Medical Center, Navy General Hospital of Chinese PLA from March to September 2005. Main materials were detailed as follows: Ang-Ⅱ (Sigma Company), tea polyphenols (Department of Tea Science, Zhejiang University) and vascular endothelial cells (human large artery vascular endothelial cell system, CBI Company, USA).METHODS: Cultured vascular endothelial cells were divided into 4 groups: ① Control group: The normal culture media was added in the isopyknic vascular endothelial cells, and 100 μL supernatant was extracted before and at 0.5, 6 and 24 hours after filling moisturized liquid. ② Ang-Ⅱ group: Cell culture media containing 10-7 mol/L Ang-Ⅱ was added in the vascular endothelial cells, and other operations were as the same as those in the control group. ③ High-concentration tea polyphenols + Ang-Ⅱ group: Cell culture media containing 50 mg/L tea polyphenols was added in the vascular endothelial cells, and other operations were as the same as those in the Ang-Ⅱ group. ④ Low-concentration tea polyphenols + Ang-Ⅱ group: Cell culture media containing 25 mg/L tea polyphenols. 100 μL supernatant was extracted before and after 0.5, 6 and 24 hours treatment in each group. Thereafter, radioimmunoassay was used to measure the content of endothelin. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Content of endothelin.RESULTS: ① Content of endothelin in Ang-Ⅱ group was higher than that in the control group (P ＜ 0.01). ② At 6 and 24 hours after high-concentration tea polyphenols incubation, content of endothelin in high-concentration tea polyphenols + Ang-Ⅱ group was lower than that in Ang-Ⅱ group (P ＜ 0.01). Moreover, the content of endothelin in low-concentration tea polyphenols + Ang-Ⅱ group was lower than that in both high-concentration tea polyphenols + Ang-Ⅱ group and angiotensin Ⅱ group (P ＜ 0.01). CONCLUSION: Tea polyphenols has inhibitory effects on endothelin releasing function of vascular endothelial cells induced by Ang-Ⅱ, suggesting that tea polyphenols has protective effect on vascular endothelial cells, and the effect of low-concentration tea polyphenols is superior to that of the high-concentration one.

Objective To examine the mechanism by which miR-155-5p regulates sex determining region Y-boc 1(SOX1) expression in breast cancer cell line MCF-7,and to investigate the effect of miR-155-5p on the invasion and metastasis of these cells.Methods After up-regulation or down-regulation of the expression of miR-155-5p in MCF-7 cells,the transwell assay was performed to detect the invasive and migrating ability of MCF-7 cells;SOX1 mRNA expression and protein levels were detected by real-time PCR and Western blot,respectively;immunofluorescence was used to test the distribution and levels of SOX1 pro-tein,and dual luciferase reporter experiments to discover the binding of miR-155-5p to the 3′-UTR region of SOX1 mR-NA.Results Up-regulating the expression of miR-155-5p could enhance the migrating and invasive ability of MCF-7 cells and simultaneously decrease the mRNA and protein levels of SOX1(P <0.05).On the contrary,inhibition of miR-155-5p depressed the invasion and migration of MCF-7 cells and increased the expression of SOX1(P < 0.05).Dual luciferase reporter experi-ments confirmed that miR-155-5p could bind to the specific sequence in the 3′-UTR of SOX1 mRNA and play a role of regula-tor.Conclusion miR-155-5p promotes the invasion and migration of breast cancer cell line MCF-7 via inhibiting the expression of SOX1.

Objective To investigate the relationships between low one-minute Apgar score and the prognosis of extremely preterm infants (EPI) and extremely low birth weight infants (ELBWI). Methods Altogether 50 EPI and ELBWI who had a low one-minute Apgar score ( ≤ 7) and were admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Peking University Third Hospital from January 1,2010 to December 31, 2015 were enrolled in this study. All of them were divided into two groups according to their Apgar score: mild group (4-7) and severe group (0-3). Medical records of the subjects were reviewed and an at least 18 months follow up study was conducted. Conditions of all subjects during perinatal period and hospitalization were summarized. Outcomes and follow-up results were compared between the two groups by using Fisher exact test. Results (1) General information: Fifty infants were involved, among which 37 had a mild low Apgar score and 13 had a severe low Apgar score. The mean gestational age was (27.7±2.1) weeks and the mean birth weight was (884.4±174.3) grams. (2) Main complications (some infants with more than one complication): There were 42 cases of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome, 12 cases of pulmonary hemorrhage, 21 cases of bronchopulmonary dysplasia, 31 cases of patent ductus arteriosus, 36 cases of intraventricular hemorrhage, 22 cases of white matter damage and six cases of retinopathy of prematurity. (3) Outcomes: The survival rate was 48% (24/50) and the mortality rate was 52% (26/50). Among the 26 infants, five died despite treatment and 21 died within 72 hours after their parents giving up treatment. There were no significant differences in the survival rates, mortality rates and rates of abandon treatment between the two groups [43% (16/37) vs 8/13; 11%(4/37) vs 1/13; 46% (17/37) vs 4/13; Fisher exact test, all P>0.05]. (4) Follow-up results: Twenty-one infants were followed-up to at least 18 months of age, among which four were normal, 10 had growth retardation and recurrent respiratory tract infection and seven had motor development retardation. The incidence of motor development retardation in severe group was higher than that in mild group, and the difference between them was statistically significant (5/8 vs 2/13, Fisher exact test, P=0.046). Conclusions EPI or ELBWI with a low one-minute Apgar score have many nosocomial complications, resulting in high mortality and high incidence of motor development retardation.

ObjectiveTo analyze the clinical characteristics of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in neonates.MethodsFrom July 2010 to July 2015, seven neonates were diagnosed with IBD in Affiliated BaYi Children's Hospital, Clinical Medical College in Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital, Southern Medical University. The data regarding these neonatal cases were analyzed and compared with 45 children with IBD from literature. Thet-test andChi-square test were used for statistical analysis of the data.ResultsSix cases had ulcerative colitis, and one case had Crohn's disease, both occurred 2-20 days after birth, and were characterized by diarrhea, no increase in body weight, anemia and intermittent higher hypersensitive C-reactive protein. Compared with IBD in children, abdominal pain and abdominal mass were rarer, while anemia was more common in neonatal IBD. All fecal cultures and blood cultures in the seven cases of neonatal IBD were negative. Abdominal X-ray revealed intestinal wall thickening in four cases. Multiple ulcers were observed from the cecum to the rectum by colonoscopy. Chronic intestinal mucosal inflammation associated with acute inflammation were found on pathological examination. Six infants received treatment with 5-aminosalicylic acid (combined with glucocorticoid in four cases), and one received glucocorticoid treatment only. One infant was started on infliximab treatment from two years old. One of these seven cases died one month after discharge due to refusal to continue treatment, and the disease was controlled in the other six cases. After treatment, one infant was lost to follow-up six months after discharge, two were cured at six and 12 months old without further treatment, and three improved and continued treatment.ConclusionsIn neonates with diarrhea, anemia and no increase in body weight, especially when antibiotic treatment is ineffective, colonoscopy should be performed to facilitate early diagnosis of IBD. Standard treatments result in good outcomes.
