Objective To investigate the expression of a novel imprinted gene,PEG10,in human gastric adenocarcinoma, and the effect of PEG10 on cell growth and proliferation of gastric cancer cells. Methods The PEG10 mRNA expressions in 40 human gastric adenocarcinoma, the corresponding adjacent normal tissues and 6 nomal gastric tissues were detected by RT-PCR.The expression vectors of PEG10 were constructed and transfected into gastric cancer cell line MKN45 which had no endogenetic PEG10 expression.Cell growth ability was measured by MTT assay. Results High PEG10 mRNA expression level was detected in 9 of 20(45.0%) human gastric adenocarcinoma which was significantly higher than those of the matched normal tissues(10.0%)(P

ObjectiveTo study the diagnostic value of double balloon endoscopy (DBE) for gastrointestinal disease.MethodsClinical data of 53 patients with suspected intermediate gastrointestinal diseases who underwent DBE procedures were retrospectively analyzed for detection rate, complications and the incidence of adverse reactions.ResultsAll of 53 patients underwent successful DBE,Procedures were performed via mouth ( n =26),anus ( n =9 ) and the combined routes ( n =18 ).And definite diagnosis was made in 46 cases (86.79%),including upper gastrointestinal (above ligament of Treitz) disease in 3 cases (5.66%),intermediate gastrointestinal disease in 41 cases (77.36% ) and lower gastrointestinal disease in 2 cases (3.77%).All 53 patients were tolerant to the operation and anesthesia. No severe complications like bleeding, perforation, intestinal torsion, mesenteric tear, pancreatitis or anesthetic accident occured.Several patients showed abdominal flatulence, transient abdominal pain. Some patients in oral route reported slight throat discomfort or slight nasal bleeding.Incarceration occurred in 1 case due to friction of endotracheal intubation and the silicone tube, which was released after deflation and removed out.2 patients showed mild diarrhea with low fever, and the symptoms were self-healing without special treatment in 48 h.ConclusionDBE is of high diagnostic value for gastrointestinal diseases with a high safety.

Background and purpose:Positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT) is playing an increasingly important role in the diagnosis, therapy and follow-up of lymphoma patients. This study aimed to explore clinical and pathological features and bone marrow infiltration status in lymphoma patients with diffused high bone marrow glucose uptake on18F-FDG PET/CT.Methods:It was a retrospective study. Bone marrow infiltration status, pathological and clinical data from 62 cases of pathologically diagnosed lymphoma and diffused high bone marrow glucose uptake were analyzed. Results:Distribution of histopathological subtype in those cases was in accordance with that in previously reported Chinese lymphoma patients. Significant difference was demonstrated in standard uptake value (SUV) between pa-tients with aggressive and indolent histopathological subtypes (8.43vs 5.38,P=0.048), patients with and without B symp-toms (8.30vs 5.72,P=0.033), and patients with and without bone marrow infiltration (8.78vs 6.96,P=0.020). 32 patients were diagnosed as “bone marrow infiltration” by bone marrow biopsy. There was significant difference in histopathologi-cal subtype distribution between patients with and without bone marrow infiltration (P=0.001). In patients with bone marrow infiltration, there were higher proportions of mantle cell lymphoma, nodal marginal zone B cell lymphoma, Burkitt’s lym-phoma and anaplastic large cell lymphoma. In contrast, patients without bone marrow infiltration suffered more from diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, peripheral T cell lymphoma, enteropathic T cell lymphoma and extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma (nasal type). False positive results in bone marrow glucose uptake may be caused by fever or anemia. Conclusion:Diffused high bone marrow glucose uptake on18F-FDG PET/CT should be evaluated in combination with the uptake values, clinical features and histological subtypes, to minimize the misdiagnosis and to better guide staging and therapy of lymphoma.

Objective To investigate thymidylate synthase on pemetrexed treatment of lung adenocarcinoma effect relationship. Methods The 60 patients with lung adenocarcinoma in our hospital from January 2014 to January 2016 were selected as the research subjects. They were treated with pemetrexed.According to the clinical efficacy, they were divided into the effective group (n =27) and ineffective group (n =33) after 3 courses of treatment. The levels of thymidylate synthase (thymidylate synthase,TS),TS mRNA expression, and the expression of TS protein in the tumor tissues of two groups were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunoadsorbent assay (ELISA),fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR),and immunohistochemistry. The relationship between TS level and pemetrexed in the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma was investigated. Results The level of ST in peripheral blood of the effective group was significantly lower than ineffective group. The objective response rate and protein of ST gene low expression were significantly higher than high expression of ST.Conclusions The level of thymidylate synthase in patients with adenocarcinoma of the lung is related to the therapeutic effect of pemetrexed in the treatment of adenocarcinoma of the lung.It can be used as a molecular marker to evaluate the clinical efficacy of pemetrexed in the treatment of patients with lung adenocarcinoma.

Objective To measure stress distribution of the main bone architecture of the normal adult cadaveric foot and discuss the effect of plantar ligament injury on stress distribution. Methods Seven fresh adult cadaveric feet were used and 10 strain gauges attached to the bones of the longitudinal foot arch, including the calcaneus, navicular, medial cuneiform,1-5 metatarsal trunk, the distal part of the tibia and fibular, respectively. After the loading Was added to 700 N by almighty test machine, resistance strainmeter was used to measure surface strain of these bones. The results were processed statistically. Results The strain was varied based on different bone segments attached and increased with loading.Tensile force was always found at the medial part of the navicular, the distal part of the tibia and fibular, while the others showed compression all the time.Peak strain was found at calcaneus.followed by the second and third metatarsal.Strain on the surface of the bone segments changed greatly with different ligament injury(P<0.05).Conclusion The bone surface stress of the longitudinal foot arch changes significantly when the plantar ligament is injured.
