To study the effect of different storage conditions and storage time on herb quality of Lonicera macranthoides, different packaging materials including vacuum plastic bags, plastic bags, woven bags, sealed with endometrial bags, paper bags, sack bags were selected for the study under different storage conditions including room temperature, 5 degrees C refrigerator, low temperature of - 20 degrees C refrigerator and desiccator. Twenty-four batches of samples were used for the study, and active ingredients were determined. The experimental results showed that the ingredients in each storage group changed with the storage time, storage conditions (storage environment, packaging). Under the same storage time, the storage environment (temperature, humidity) had effect on the stability of herb quality. Low temperature had less effect on herb quality. The effect of packaging on herb quality was as following: plastic vacuum packaging > woven with endometrial sealed packaging > plastic bag > woven bag > sack bags > paper bags. Under the same storage conditions, with the increase of storage time, caffeic acid content increased slowly, and other five ingredients content decreased gradually. Storage time affected significantly on the intrinsic quality (chemical composition) and appearance of herb. It is suggested that low temperature (5 degrees C), dark and sealed storage are suitable for storage of L. macranthoides herb, the storage time should be not more than 24 months.

Objective:To study the clinico-pathologic characteristics, molecular phenotypes, and prognosis of young breast can-cer patients. Methods:Data from 133 low-age (age≤30 years) young breast cancer patients and 117 young (31 years≤age≤35 years) breast cancer patients who underwent surgery between January 2002 and December 2009 were reviewed. Cases of the middle and old-age elderly (age>35 years) breast cancer patients during the corresponding period were randomly selected as matched controls. The clinico-pathologic characteristics, molecular phenotypes, and prognosis were retrospectively analyzed. Results:The low-age young and young breast cancer patients significantly differed from the elderly patients in terms of tumor size, lymph node metastasis, histological grading, molecular phenotype, and relapse (P<0.05). The low-age young patients are more vulnerable to have triple-negative breast can-cer, recurrence, and distant metastasis (P<0.001). Moreover, the low-age young patients have lower overall survival and disease-free survival than the other groups (P<0.05). Conclusion:Young breast cancer patients have poor prognosis compared with the elderly. Ear-ly screening and prompt treatment are necessary for young breast cancer patients.

Purpose The aim of this study was to reveal the role of SGT,the small glutamine-rich tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR)-containing protein,in the developing mouse brain through examining the expression profile of SGT during the development stage. Methods In this study, quantitative RT-RCR and Western blot were applied to investigate the expression of SGT mRNA and protein in the mouse whole brain. Western bolt was also used to detect the expression of SGT in the hippocampus, cerebral cortex, striatum and cerebellum. Immunohistochemical analysis on postnatal and adult mouse brain was performed to examine the subcellular localization of SGT. Results Our data showed that the levels of SGT mRNA and protein in the mouse whole brain were both high during the postnatal stage and declined in the adult. Regional expression of SGT protein in the hippocampus, cerebral cortex, striatum and cerebellum showed a similar expression profile.Immunohistochemical analysis found that in the P14 mouse brain, SGT was abundant in all the CA regions of hippocampus as well as most regions of cerebral cortex and striatum. In the cerebellum, SGT was mainly distributed in Purkinje cells. In the sections of the adult mouse brain, faint expression was observed in the regions mentioned above. Conclusions Our findings firstly exhibit the expression pattern of SGT in the mouse brain development, which might shed new light on further functional analysis of SGT in the central nervous system.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2016;20(51):7605-7610
BACKGROUND:Bone nonunion is a common complication in the orthopedic treatment, and its morbidity reached 5%-10%, which results in the long-term functional disturbance of the limbs, and even disability. Autogenous iliac crest graft has been commonly used to treat bone nonunion, but some limitations stil exist.
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the treatment outcomes of autogenous iliac crest graft combined with autologous bone marrow stem cel transplantation for bone nonunion after fracture surgery.
METHODS:Clinical and fol ow-up data from 69 patients with bone nonunion were analyzed retrospectively. Al patients were al otted to combination (n=37) and iliac (n=32) groups, fol owed by treated with autologous iliac crest graft combined with autologous bone marrow stem cel transplantation or autologous crest graft, respectively. Afterwards, the hospitalization time, fracture healing time, bone mineral density and Fereadez-Esteve cal us scores were detected and compared between groups.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The hospitalization time did not differ significantly between groups (P>0.05). The fracture healing time in the combination group was significantly shortened compared with the iliac group (P<0.05). The bone mineral density and Fereadez-Esteve callus scores in the combination group were significantly higher than those in the iliac group at 3 and 6 months after surgery (P<0.05). The excellent and good rate of the affected limb function in the combination group was significantly higher than that in the iliac group (P<0.05). These results suggest that autogenous iliac crest graft combined with autologous bone marrow stem cell transplantation for bone nonunion can accelerate fracture healing, promote porosis and improve the functional recovery of affected limbs.
