1.Ethical Speculation on Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis
Chinese Medical Ethics 1994;0(06):-
Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis(PGD) is an advanced technology based on in-vitro fertility-embryo transfer, which binds multiple-discipline arts, specially the research on DNA analysis assay of single cell,to reach the aim of aristogenesis and wash out abnormal embryo before transfer. With the development of this technique and the ever wider applications, ethical issues also arise. This paper focuses on these ethical issues related to PGD,expecting an actual benefit for human.
2.Imaging Findings of Vertebral Eosinophilic Granuloma(An Analysis of 10 Cases)
Journal of Practical Radiology 2001;0(08):-
Objective To improve the understanding of the radioactive charcteristics of vertebral eosinophilic granuloma. Methods The imaging features (X-ray?CT and MRI) of 10 cases with vertebral eosinophilic granuloma were retrospectively analyzed.Diagnoses of all the patients had been confirmed with pathlolgical examination after operation. Results All the patients had vertebral body damages,7 with osteolytic damages and 3 with cystic damages.Intervertebral crevice became narrowing or disappearing .Some vertebral appendix and paravertebral soft tissue were involved. Conclusion It is out of proportion among the vertebral body damages, the involved vertedral arch, the changes of intervertebral crevice and the mass of paravertebral soft tissue. The remaining bone fragment without sequestrum in the damage ares is considered as the main characteristic expression of vertebral eosinophilic granuloma.
3.A comparative study of Gamma nail and proximal femoral nail in treatment of intertrochanteric fractures of femur
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2004;0(08):-
Objective To compare the clinical results of the intramedullary nails (Gamma nail and the proximal femoral nail) in treatment of intertrochanteric fractures of femur. Methods A review study was conducted on 116 intertrochanteric fractures of femur treated with the Gamma nail and 89 treated with PFN in our hospital between 2000 and 2003. Results In the Gamma nail group, the mean time for operation was 68.3(48 to 106)minutes,the mean blood loss during operation was 261(180 to 400)mL,the mean time for walking after operation was 5.0 (2.3 to 8.9)weeks and the mean time for bone union was 8.6(7.1 to 12.6)weeks. In the PFN group, the mean time for operation was 48.0(36 to 85)minutes, the mean blood loss during operation was 192(120 to 360)mL,the mean time for walking after operation was 5.3(2.5 to 8.1)weeks and the mean time for bone union was 8.8(6.9 to 12.1)weeks. There were significant differences in the mean time for operation and the mean blood loss between the 2 groups(P
5. Correlation analysis of carotid artery color Doppler flow imaging indices and transcranial Doppler ultrasound indices
Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2010;31(6):634-637
Objective: To analyze the correlation of carotid artery color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) indices and transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) indices. Methods: The clinical data of 118 hospitalized patients with ischemic cerebrovascular diseases were included in the present study and all of them received CDFI and TCD examination. The patients were divided into two groups according to presence of carotid plaque group; t-test was used to identify the correlation between the presence of carotid plaque and TCD indices. Meanwhile, the patients were also divided into three groups according to the quantity/distribution of plaque) one-way ANOVA(F-test) and student-Newman-Keuls were used to identify the correlation of the quantity/distribution of plaque with TCD indices. The patients with carotid plaque were divided into three groups according to the plaque texture) one-way ANOVA(F-test) and student-Newman-Keuls were used to identify the correlation of the quality of plaque with TCD indices. Meanwhile, linear correlation was used to identify the correlation of the common carotid intimal-medial thickness (CCA IMT) with TCD indices. Results: The resistance index (RI), pulsatile index (PI) and ratio of peak systolic to least diastolic flow velocity (S/D) of bilateral middle cerebral arteries and basal artery in patients with carotid plaque were significantly higher than those in patients without carotid plaque (P<0.05); other TCD indices including Vp, Vd, and Vm were not significantly different. The quantity/distribution of plaque, the quality of plaque and CCA IMT were not correlated with TCD indices. Conclusion: No CDFI indices, except for the presence of carotid plaque, are correlated with TCD indices. Combined application of CDFI and TCD indices can better reflect the structure and hemodynamic status of cerebral vessels.

Chinese Journal of Laboratory Medicine 2001;0(05):-
Objective To evaluate the status of the morbidity of serum lipids in Beijing through the detection of serum lipids in health checking adults. Methods The serum total cholesterol(TC),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)and triglyceride (TG)were detected by chemistry test in 13 336 adults, and age-adjusted prevalence of dyslipidemia and its distribution in different sexes and age groups were statistically analyzed. Results The prevalence of total dyslipidemia is 59.9%,71.6 % in male and 47.2% in female. The prevalence of the four components of serum lipids raised with age in both sex(P

Journal of Zhejiang University. Medical sciences 2010;39(3):326-332
microRNAs function as effective molecules in regulation of many biological functions of organisms; in most case they regulate gene expression moderately. Emerging evidence suggests that microRNAs play a key role in the regulation of immunological functions including innate and adaptive immune responses. The research on microRNAs would be helpful in elucidation of the mechanisms of human immune system and in development of potential therapies based on microRNAs.

Chinese Journal of Anesthesiology 2010;30(3):297-299
Objective To investigate the effects of propofol and sevoflurane on oxidative stess response induced by short period pure oxygen inhalation during general anesthesia. Methods Sixty ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients aged 20-60 yr weighing 50-85 kg undergoing elective abdominal surgery under general anesthesia were randomly divided into 2 groups (n=30 each):group propofol (group P) and group sevoflurane (group S).Each group was further divided into 2 subgroups inhaling 40% O2 (P0.4,S0.4) and 100%O2(P1.0,S1.0) respectively during operation.Anesthesia was induced with propofol 1-2 mg/kg,midazolan 0.02 mg/kg and sufentanil 0.1-0.2 mg/kg.Tracheal intobation was facilitated with rocuronium 0.6-0.8 mg/kg.The patients were mechanically ventilated(VT 8 ml/kg,RR 12 bpm).PET CO2 was maintained at 35-40 mmHg.Anesthesia was maintained with in both groups.BIS was maintained at 40-60.Arterial blood samples were collected immediately before induction of anesthesia (baseline),at 2,4,6h after tracheal intubation(T1-3) and 24h after operation(T4) for determination of PaO2,serum 8-iso-PGF2α and MDA concentrations and SOD activity.PaO2/FiO2 was calculated. Results In subgroup S1.0 the serum 8-iso-PGF2α and MDA concentrations were significantly increased while serum SOD activity was significanfly decreased at T1-3 as compared with the baseline.Serum 8-iso-PGF2α and MDA concentrations were significantly higher while serum SOD activity and PaO2/FiO2 were significantly lower at T1-3 in subgroup S1.0 than in stress response induced by≤6h pure O2 inhalation but inhalation of 1.5%-3.0% sevoflurane can not.
