Objective To investigate differences between Han and Uyghur children in dyslexia prevalence and potential environmental risk factors as well as to provide diagnosis and treatment evidence for dyslexia children . Methods We used cluster sampling to recruit 2 854 students in grades 3~6 from five Uyghur -Chinese bilingual primary schools in Xinjiang province .The children with dyslexia were selected step by step according to the defini‐tion of ICD-10 and DSM -IV .The children with DD and children without DD were selected and compared by 1∶1 of the same class ,ages and genders .Then single factor analysis and logistic regression analysis were used to as‐sess children'environmental risk factors .Results In total ,2 438 effective quostionnaires have been got .The difference between Han (3 .89% ) and Uyghur (7 .05% ) dyslexia prevalence was statistically significant .The factor analysis revealed that educational grades ,family income ,father's and mother's occupations ,and their education levels as well as some home literacy environmental factors were significantly different for the two groups of children with dyslexia (P<0 .05) .Conclusion The prevalence of dyslexia was high in both groups ,and especially for Uyghur children . Some environmental factors may be responsible for the differences noted ,especially for the occupation of mother .

To assess and grade facial nerve dysfunction according to the extent of facial paralysis in the clinical course of acupuncture treatment for Bell's palsy, and to observe the interrelationship between the grade, the efficacy and the period of treatment, as well as the effect on prognosis.

Objective To explore the relationship between the rs18004197 polymorphism in the 3'-untranslated region of adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) gene and colorectal cancer susceptibility.Methods Firstly,we collected the peripheral venous blood of 573 colorectal cancer cases and 588 controls,and then extracted DNA from blood samples,genotyped rs1804197 polymorphism using real-time PCR and assessed its association with the susceptibility of colorectal cancer.Results There were 387 CC (67.5％),153 AC (26.7％) and 33 AA (5.8％) genotypes in the colorectal cancer cases.In the control group,there were 427 CC (72.6％),144 AC (24.5％) and 17 AA (2.9％) genotypes.The AA genotype odds ratio (OR =2.14,95％ CI:1.17-3.91,P =0.011) and the A allele frequency (P =0.011) were significant difference in case and control groups.Further subgroup analysis showed that the differences of the frequency distribution in the male (P =0.048) and non-drinking (P =0.020) groups were statistically significant.In the male group,the risk of colorectal cancer was increased by 0.41 (OR =1.41,95％ CI:1.01-1.98) for individuals bearing the A allele.In the non-drinking group,the risk of colorectal cancer was increased by 0.22 (OR =1.22,95％ CI:0.91-1.64) for individuals bearing the A allele,but the result was not statistically significant.Conclusion The rs18004197 polymorphism in the 3'-untranslated region of APC gene is related to the susceptibility of colorectal cancer.The AA genotype may increase the susceptibility of colorectal cancer.

OBJECTIVEThis study simulated clinical implant surgery using squeeze technique by establishing a rational animal model. To measure the morphologic parameters in order to observe the agglutination of the cancellous bone after being compressed. The study wanted to get some favourable support of implant squeeze technique in bone healing and obtaining primary stabilities of implants, so as to provide some reasonable and valid guidance in the application and improvement of implant squeeze technique.

METHODSThe cancellous bone in condyles of femur of dog had been chosen as the experimental position, prepared the implant holes using squeeze technique according to different compressing extent (0, 0.6, 1.2, 2.0 mm), and then inserted the corresponding implants into them. After different healing periods (1, 2, 4, 12 weeks), the mongrel dogs were sacrificed and the hard tissue slices were made and then the morphologic parameters were measured.

RESULTSThe morphologic parameter of the bone tissue shows that after being compressed, the trabecular bone thickness was almost constant, while the trabecular bone number increased, and the trabecular bone spacing decreased, obviously in the 1-week and 2-week groups. The differences went down gradually along with the extend of healing time.

CONCLUSIONThe clinical implant surgery using squeeze technique can improve peri-implant bone density so it is good for obtaining primary stabilities of implants.

To easily obtain plasmin-alpha(2)-antiplasmin complex (PAP) with high purity, the purification procedure was improved by authors. After urokinase activated fresh human platelet-deficient plasma had been applied to Lysine-Sepharose 4B affinity chromatography column, elutions were sequentially performed by several eluents with different ingredients. The results showed that 3.0 mg PAP could harvested from 100 ml fresh plasma by this method and the whole procedure could be finished within several hours. In conclusion, this procedure is simple, rapid, economical and high-yield.

OBJECTIVEA total of 27 samples belonging to 5 cultivars of Fructus Aurantii (Citrus aurantium), i. e. cv. Xiucheng, cv. Xiangcheng, cv. Lecheng, cv. Jizicheng, and cv. Youzicheng, collected at Changfu and Huanggang, Zhangshu City, Jiangxi Province, were assayed to reveal the genetic relationship among the cultivars and the accordance between morphological and molecular markers.

METHODCultivar identification was based on morphology and cultivar relationship was based on Inter-simple sequence repeats (ISSR).

RESULTTwenty out of 40 ISSR primers screened generated 392 loci across all 27 samples with 315 informative loci. The UPGMA dendrogram showed that samples within cv. Xiucheng and cv. Xiangcheng from Changfu were closely related. However, samples of cv. Lecheng, cv. Jizicheng and cv. Youzicheng from Huanggang, or cv. Xiucheng and cv. Xiangcheng from both Changfu and Huanggang did not exhibited close relationships within each cultivars.

CONCLUSIONBased on morphology the same cultivar grown in different plantations, or even within a single plantation sometimes do not show close genetic relationship, indicating diverse origin of the cultivars. Synonyms or homonyms are believed to common phenomenon in Fructus Aurantii production. To solve the problem ISSR markers can serve a kind of molecular markers which are preferable to partition genetic variations within and between cultivars and to establish genetic relationships among them.

Cardiomyocyte apoptosis leads to the functional incapacitation of myocardial plasmodium and plays an important role in the pathogenesis of heart failure transformed from compensable cardiac hypertrophy. Mitochondria are the main source of apoptosis-inducing molecule of various cells, and the role of caspartate-specific cysteinyl proteinase (caspase)-dependent mechanism has generally been accepted in the cardiomyocyte apoptosis. However, the significance of caspase-independent apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) mechanism is not yet understood. The purpose of this study was to evaluate hypoxia-reperfusion-induced alterations of AIF mRNA and protein expressions in hypertrophic cardiomyocytes. Cardiomyocyte hypertrophy was produced by angiotensin II (0.1 mumol/L). The cells were cultured under the condition of hypoxia (95% N2 and 5% CO2; the O2 partial pressure was lower than 5 mmHg) for 8 h or 12 h (named as H8h and H12h groups, respectively), and then exposed to normal culture environment (named as H8h/R and H12h/R groups, respectively). Apoptosis was detected with Hoechst 33258 staining. The AIF mRNA and protein expressions were detected by RT-PCR and Western blot and quantified by gel scanning. The results were as follows: (1) The level of AIF mRNA expression was 0.29+/-0.08 (optical density, relative value) in the control group (hypertrophic cardiomyocytes cultured in normal environment). Compared with that in the control group, the levels of AIF mRNA expression were significantly higher in the groups of H8h and H12h (0.52+/-0.04 and 0.85+/-0.10), indicating that this effect was time-dependent. A further increase of AIF mRNA expression was observed in the groups of H8h/R (1.09+/-0.12) and H12h/R (1.41+/-0.23). (2) The level of AIF protein expression was 0.29+/-0.04 in the control group. Compared with that in the control group, the levels of AIF protein expression were significantly higher in the groups of H8h and H12h (2.07+/-0.15 and 3.12+/-0.19). The AIF protein expression was increased further in the groups of H8h/R (4.57+/-0.25) and H12h/R (5.71+/-0.27). The nuclear translocation of AIF protein was obvious only in the groups of H8h/R and H12h/R. (3) The expressions of AIF mRNA and protein were almost completely inhibited by AIF siRNA transfection. The siRNA transfection also reduced the apoptosis of hypertrophic cardiomyocytes in the groups of H8h/R and H12h/R but not in the groups of H8h and H12h. The apoptosis rate was significantly reduced by both AIF siRNA transfection and Ac-DEVD-cmk, an inhibitor of caspase-3. This reduction induced by two factors was more evident than that by one factor. (4) AIF nuclear translocation induced by hypoxia-reperfusion was not affected by inhibition of the activity of caspase-3. These data suggest that AIF plays a pivotal role in the apoptosis of hypertrophic cardiomyocytes induced by hypoxia-reperfusion.

Objective To discuss the clinical effect of two-dimensional oral care for patients with mechanical ventilation by orotracheal intubation,and improve the quality of oral care.Methods Seventy inpatients with mechanical ventilation by orotracheal intubation from Feb 2011 to Jul 2012 in ICU were selected and randomly divided into experimental group (n ＝ 35) and control group (n ＝ 35).Experimental group was given two-dimensional oral care (oral swab just one time before intubation,and brush teeth and suction three times a day after intubation).Control group was given traditional oral care three times a day.Throat swab specimens were gathered for bacterial colony counts before intubation,and in 4 h,12 h,24 h,48 h after intubation,respectively.Bacteria quantitative culture was performed in sputum specimens and in throat swab specimens (one time per three days) after intubation.Oropharyngeal bacteria change and the incidence rate of ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) were observed.Results Among all 70 patients,61 cases were valid,15 cases had VAP,and 8 cases died.In the experimental group,31 were valid,4 had VAP and 3 died,while in the control group,30 were valid,11 had VAP and 5 died.The difference of the incidence rate of VAP was statistically significant (x2 ＝ 4.643,P ＝ 0.040) and the difference of the incidence rate of death was not statistically significant (x2 ＝ 0.654,P ＝ 0.473).The difference of oropharyngeal bacterial colony counts had no statistical significance between two groups before intubation (t ＝-0.563,P ＝ 0.589),while the difference of oropharyngeal bacterial colony counts had statistical significance between groups in 4 h,12 h,24 h,48 h after intubation (t＝1.957,-2.520,-3.560,-2.165,respectively; P＜0.05).Conclusions Two-dimensional oral care can effectively reduce oropharyngeal bacterial colony,and decrease the incidence rate of VAP for patients with mechanical ventilation by orotracheal intubation.Thus it is a better nursing method to improve oral care quality.

Objective:To investigate the technique and efficacy of PTES for treatment of L5/S1 disc herniation.Methods:PTES was performed on 52 cases of L5/S1 herniations without spinal instability and central spinal canal stenosis,including 24 cases of high iliac crest,from November 2012 to April 2013.The operation duration,frequency of intraoperative fluoroscopy,blood loss and hospitalization days were recorded.Leg pain was evaluated by using the visual analog scale(VAS)Preoperatively and immediately,1 week,1 month,2 months,3 months,6 months,1 year and 2 years after surgery.The results were determined to be excellent,good,fair,or poor according to the Macnab classification,and complications were observed at 2-year follow-up.Objective:The mean operation duration was(56.3 ±11.5)min per segment.The median frequency of intraoperatively fluoroscopy was 5(3-14)times.The median blood loss was 5(2-20)mL.The median hospital stay was 3(2-4)days.The average postoperative follow-up was(26.2±2.0)months.The median preoperative VAS score of leg pain was 9(6-10),1(0-3)immediately after the operation and 0(0-3)2 years after operation,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.001).There were 3 cases of lower limb rebound pain 1 week after operation,which were relieved within 2 months after operation.The rate of excellent and good curative effect was 98.1％(51/52)2 years after operation.No complications such as nerve injury,infection,abdominal organ damage and rupture of large vessels occurred.No recurrence occurred.Conclusions:PTES for L5/S1 disc herniation including the cases with high iliac crest is an easy,effective and safe technique.The method has the advantages of simple positioning,easy puncture,simple steps and less fluoroscopy,and the learning curve is not steep for surgeons.

Small intestinal hemangioma is a rare condition that can be divided histologically into capillary, cavernous or mixed types, among which the cavernous type is the most common. Here we report a case of small intestinal cavernous hemangioma with chronic hemorrhage in 44-year-old man. The patient complained of weakness and dizziness for 2 years that aggravated 1 month before admission accompanied by intermittent melena. Laboratory tests suggest severe anemia, and computed tomography, gastroscopy and colonoscopy all revealed signs of anemia. Capsule endoscopy detected small intestinal erosions, bleeding lesions and prominent neoplasms. An exploratory laparotomy was performed, in which the segment of the jejunum with lesions was resected. Pathological examination of the resected jejunum identified the neoplasm as cavernous hemangioma of the small intestine, which was the cause of severe anemia.
