1.Noticeable problem in diagnosis and treatment of drug-induced keratopathy
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2013;(2):105-109
Ocular surface disorders can be caused by the drug-derived toxicity, adverse effect and abuse of eye drops, and usually these disorders present with unspecific and untypical clinical findings. So the eye abnormality induced by topical administration of eye drops often is confused with some corneal inflammatory diseases. In addition, pathogenic mechanisms vary widely due to the different types of eye drops. Therefore, difficulty of diagnosis and poor curative effect often is a challenge for us.Ophthalmologist should be aware of the toxicity derived eye drops on ocular surface.Several noticeable problems of diagnosis and treatment of drug-derived keratopathy were elaborated in this paper.
2.An experimental study of mild hypothermia via lateral ventricle perfusion of cool Ringer's solution in rabbits after traumatic brain injury
Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2003;0(10):-
Objective To set up a new method of mild hypothermia via lateral ventricle in rabbits following traumatic brain injury (TBI). Methods Twenty-one New Zealand rabbits were used for this study. TBI was pro- duced with all the rabbits in anesthesia by using free-falling impact model. Animals were randomly divided into three groups: a TBI group, a mild hypothermia group (by perfusion of 25℃Ringer's solution via the lateral ventricle) and a control group. The contents of water and total sodium, potassium of the brain region close to traumatic brain tissue were detected and pathological changes were observed in three groups. Results The number of the injured neurons was increased significantly in both TBI group and mild hypothermia group than that in control group at 72 h after TBI (P

Objective:To investigate the effects of iron sucrose combined with recombinant human erythropoietin(EPO)on perioperative anemia and early functional recovery in elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures. Methods:A retrospective comparative analysis was performed on 78 elderly patients who received PFNA treatment for intertrochanteric fractures in our hospital from July 2016 to December 2018.In the observation group, 40 cases were treated with iron sucrose combined with erythropoietin during the perioperative period. No perioperative intervention measures were taken for the control group.Hemoglobin(Hb)levels at 1, 3, 5, 7 days and before discharge and Harris scores of hip joints before surgery, 2 weeks and 3 months after surgery were compared between the two groups. Results:Hb levels were higher in the observation group than in the control group at 5 d[(98.8±8.6 g/L vs.92.2±8.5 g/L, t=3.389, P=0.001)]and 7 d[(105.4±8.9)g/L vs.(94.8±8.5)g/L, t=5.370, P=0.000]after surgery and before discharge[(115.4±8.6)g/L vs.(100.6±8.2)g/L, t=7.771, P=0.000]. Harris scores were higher in the observation group than in the control group 3 months after surgery(82.4±3.8 vs.75.8±2.5, t=8.933, P=0.000). Pearson' s correlation analysis showed that Hb levels at 5d and 7d after surgery were positively correlated with Harris scores at 3 months after surgery.Hb levels before discharge had an effect on Harris scores at 3 months after surgery. Conclusions:The combined administration of iron sucrose and EPO perioperatively can promote postoperative Hb recovery, reduce the incidence of anemia, accelerate early functional recovery and improve the quality of life in elderly patients with intertrochanteric fractures.

Objective To explore the applicability of the abbreviated Chinese version of the social problem-solving inventory (C-SPSI) for nursing students in Shanghai. Methods The abbreviated C-SPSI was revised and 603 nursing students in Shanghai were surveyed by it, and the reliability and con-struct validity were evaluated by inter-item consistency analysis, test-retest reliability and principal factor analysis. Results The total CVI was 0.968. The construct validity was confirmed by factor analysis with 64.917% variance explained by four factors. The total Cronbach's α of C-SPSI was 0.897,and the total test-retest reliability coefficient was 0.781. Conclusions The abbreviated C-SPSI is an instrument with good reliability and validity and it can be used in assessing the nursing students' social problem-solving abilities and deficits.

Objective To evaluate the effect of insulin pumps in diabetic patients. Methods Perioporative 37 diabetic patients in our hospital were randomly divided into two groups;19 patients were given continuous insulin pump subcutaneously(CS Ⅱ), 18 multiple subcutaneous injection(MS Ⅱ), comparing the level of blood sugar control, pre-operative time, control of blood sugar levels, wound healing, and so on, postoperative enteral nutrition. Results Two groups of blood glucose levels before treatment had no significant difference (P > 0.5), after treatment the de-creased level of blood sugar and blood sugar level of stability in the CS Ⅱ group better than the MS Ⅱ group, the differ-ence was signifieant(P <0.01). CS Ⅱ significantly shortened the pre-operative preparation time, before and after op-eration and postoperative enteral nutrition ,control of blood sugar stable ,the wound healed well and shortened hospital stay. Conclusion Insulin pump is an effective manner in the perioperative treatment of diabetes for smoothing opera-tion, reducing the burden on patients and complications.

Chinese Journal of Neurology 2021;54(5):483-486
The clinical, neuroelectrophysiological, neuropathological characteristics and outcome of a case of acute sensory axonopathy are reported. The patient was a 32-year-old female. She presented with acute onset sensory abnormalities, sensory ataxia, pseudoathetosis and areflex. Lab testing showed cerebrospinal fluid albumin cytologic dissociation. Electromyography studies and sural nerve pathology were consistent with acute sensory axonopathy. Treatment including intravenous immunoglobulin and steroid therapy was provided. Her symptoms recovered slowly without relapse, so did tibial H-reflex amplitudes.

Objective To report 2 cases of Fabry disease with early-onset ischemic stroke and investigate the clinical and image features. Methods The 2 patients developed dizziness, diplopia and progressive memory decline at 32 and 25 years of age respectively. The α-galactosidase A (GLA)activity was 4. 3 U in case 1 and 1. 0 U in case 2 ( normal range 100-500 U). Skin biopsy showed numerous membrane bounded osmiophilic laminar material in vascular smooth muscle cells and endothelial cells. GLA gene analysis revealed GLA exon 7 1033-1034 TC del in case 1 and GLA exon 3 466G > A in case 2. The 2 patients were evaluated by Mainz severity score index (MSSI) and cranial MRI. Results The general MSSI was 32 in case 1 and 16 in case 2, with the highest score of neurological score ( 11 and 14). Both cases showed multifocal infarcts in bilateral cerebellum, occipital lobe, basal ganglia, which were hypointensity on T1 WI and hyperintensity on T2WI. There were hyperintensity changes in the pulvinar and basal ganglia on T1 WI in case 2. Conclusions Cerebral ischemic stroke could appear as initial symptoms in Fabry disease, which predominantly involved the posterior circulation. There might be no dilation of basal-vertebral artery.
