The major satisfaction of college students will influence their learning interest and motivation, and then influence their learning achievement and future employment. Under the guidance of the concept of the micro system engineering of the education reform, the degree of the major satis-faction of the students in TCM colleges is analyzed by SIMPP method. The results show that students' behavior mode such as their preview situation, teaching adaptation, course satisfaction, students' achievement and their attitude of poor academic performance is closely related to the degree of major satisfaction. Teachers can judge the degree of major satisfaction by following these pattern behaviors;improve the rationality and accuracy of the degree of major satisfaction.

In recent years, lower and lower class attendance has plagued the quality of uni-versity teaching. To solve this problem, this study conducted a questionnaire survey in accordance with the concepts of the Education Reform microscopic systems engineering and the method of SIMPP. The results showed that factors affecting student classroom attendance included two aspects: the sub-jective and objective factors. Indicators related to the subjective factors were: the personal attitude when faced with failure exams, the personal learning interest and personal grasp of the main source of knowledge. Indicators related to the objective factors were: school and teachers. Also, this study gave some suggestions on how to improve students' classroom attendance to provide data basis and refer-ence for further study on class attendance.

College students' self cognition of the learning effectiveness influences their learning behavior greatly. Focusing on college students' self cognition of their learning effectiveness, and then standardizing their learning behavior is one of the important work of educators in colleges. Therefore this paper has designed the questionnaire of the influencing factors of learning effectiveness self cog-nition, used SIMPP analysis method to analyze it, and set up the relation model. The analysis shows that college students' self cognition of learning effectiveness is influenced not only by students' dili-gence level and the recognition degree of specialized subject, but also by the factors such as the attitude when you get the bad results. The result provides data basis and scientific basis for future practice and relevant research for educators in colleges.

Academic diligence level can not only directly affect the academic performance of students, but also affect the individual's emotional and physical health. In this study, through a question-naire survey of university students, with the method of SIMPP and the concept of the micro system engi-neering in higher education teaching reform, the related factors of diligence and the college students' behavior mode with respect to diligence are systematically analyzed. Analysis shows that, students' diligence level is affected not only by inherent factors such as clear learning objectives, learning state and after-school learning time, but also by the school ethos, the influence factors of the curriculum and parents' re-quirements.

The ability of repair and regeneration of central nervous system (CNS) is limited. So many researchers applied themselves to search a valuable cell resource for treating severe diseases of the CNS. Several studies from different laboratories have recently reported that stem cells derived from human umbilical cord blood under certain in vitro conditions can manifest neural features that resemble features of neural-derived cells. In vivo transplantation studies have shown that these stem cells persistently engraft in the CNS, some engrafted cells acquire the characteristics of neurons and glia, and improve functional recovery after central nervous system injury. The existence of stem/progenitor cells with previously unappreciated proliferation and differentiation potential in umbilical cord blood raise the possibility that cord blood may provide an efficient source of cells differentiating into the neural lineage, with a potential to be employed in the therapy of human CNS diseases. The achievement and focuses on the mechanisms and modulation of induction of differentiation and in vitro and in vivo studies in this field was reviewed.

Cross-talk of intracellular signaling pathways that share common components (hubs) is organized in form of a bow-tie network topology.Signaling cross-talk is functionally pleiotropic for target genes regulation, resulting in functional redundancy, synergism and antagonism, which should be precisely controlled to prevent signaling 'leaking' or 'spillover'.Thus, the biological system has evolved multiple insulating mechanisms to achieve stimulus-specific response that maintains intracellular homeostasis. The insulation mechanism of signaling cross-talk suggests: (1) the functional duality of cross-talk molecules that determine cell fate requires selectively targeting dysregulated cross-talk molecules while protecting the normal ones from off-target or unintended effects, and we propose them as the targetable cross-talk molecules;(2) cross-talk molecules are usually carried on the macromolecular complex as their functional platforms, thus the structural plasticity of conformational changes at the interaction surface of cross-talk molecules asks for intensive work on the relationship study between drug binding and biological activity, which we propose as the accessible cross-talk molecules. Therefore, signaling cross-talk and its insulation mechanism play instructive leading roles in resolving the bottlenecks of current drug R&D and improve the clinical outcome.

Objective To examine expression of PTEN gene in ovarian cancer cisplatin-sensitive cell line OV2008 cells and cisplatin-resistant cell line C13K cells, and evaluate the effect of wild-type PTEN gene on reversing cisplatin-resistance of C13K cells and underlying mechanisms. Methods The expression of PTEN mRNA and protein in OV2008 and C13K cells were detected by semi-quantitative RT-PCR and western blot.Recombinant eukaryotic expression plasmid containing human wild-type PTEN gene was transfected into C13K cells by lipofectamine 2000.The expression of PTEN mRNA was monitored by RT- PCR and the expression of PTEN,protein kinase B(AKT),phospho-AKT(p-AKT)protein were analyzed by western blot in PTEN transfected and untransfected C13K cells.Proliferation and chemosensitivity of cells to cisplatin were measured by methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT),and cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry after treatment with cisplatin.Results(1)The expression of PTEN mRNA and protein(1.02 ?0.05,1.02?0.07)in OV2008 cells were significantly higher than those in C13K cells, which were 0.45 ?0.03 and 0.55?0.03 respectively(P

Objective To investigate the pathological distribution and clinical characteristics of pineal region tumors (PRTs) with variant pathology. Methods We retrospectively analyzed the clinical and pathological data of 133 patients with PRTs that were performed surgical removal from January 2000 to January 2009 in our hospital. Results Sixty-one patients (45.9%) were diagnosed as having germ cell tumors,17 (12.8%) pineal parenchymal tumors,28 (21.1%) gliomas and 27 (20.2%)other resource tumors.Sex ratio of patients with germ cell tumors, pineal parenchymal tumors and gliomas were 14.25:1 (male:female),2.4:1 and 1.15:1,respectively; their median ages were 15.3,24.7 and 28.1,respectively.The serum immunologic test showed abnormal results in 33 patients; except for 1 with metastatic tumors, the others were diagnosed as having germ cell tumors. Conclusion PRTs have many pathological types and patients with PRTs are mainly diagnosed as having germ cell tumors.Correct diagnosis can not be made by imaging, serum immunologic test or biopsy, thus, obtaining complete clinical specimen during the total tumor removal is very necessary in studying the pathology of PRTs.
10.Recent advances of NF-kappaB in nervous system injury.
Journal of Forensic Medicine 2008;24(6):453-456
Diagnosis of nervous system injury is one of the most difficult issues in medical-legal practice. Nowadays, the activation of NF-kappaB has been studied by many researchers in order to find objective evidence and indicators to calculate the injury time and to diagnose the severity of brain injury for forensic practice. It was reviewed that the advances and problems of NF-kappaB and its correlation with nervous system injury and diseases, such as cerebral ischemia, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
