Pulse wave, a research focus in both traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, which contains a wealth of human physiological and pathological information, has always been the concern of medical practitioners. On the basis of the review on the development of the pulse wave theory and its applications, the existing problems in this field are discussed in this paper. On the basis of the status quo of pulse wave information extraction methods and the utilization of pulse wave in traditional Chinese and Western medicine, a more in-depth study on pulse wave is proposed to make it a bridge connecting traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine.

Objective To investigate the effect of conventional preseratives on the stability of carboxyhemoglobin(HbCO)in the stored blood samples.Methods Blood samples with 30%～40% and 60%～70% of HbCO were established,respectiviely.The samples were stored with the commomly used preseratives including formaldehyde,sodium fluoride,EDTA-Na_2,sodium nitrite,potassium oxalate,heparin sodium,sodium citrate and the mixture of sodium fluoride and sodium citrate(1:3).Saturation of HbCO in the preserved blood samples were determined at 0h,2h,8h,24h,3d,and 7d after treatment with the addictives,respectively.The data were evaluated statistically.Results The stability of HbCO was significantly affected in the formaldehyde and sodium nitrite-treated samples,but no significant effects of the other preseratives on the blood samples were detected.Conclusion The stability of HbCO in the blood samples conserved varies with the type of the preseratives used.The samples taken from cases with suspected death from carbon monoxide poisoning should be kept with proper preseratives.Blood samples preserved with formaldehyde and sodium nitrite are not suitable for HbCO determination.

Objective To study the effect of recombinant human growth hormone(rhgh) on the expressions of tumor necrosis factor a(TNFa) and endotoxemia in murine experimental obstructive jaundice(OJ) models.Methods Sixty adult male wistar rats.were randomly divided into three groups A: sham operation group(SO),20;B:OJ group,20;C: OJ+rhGH group,20.The rats in group OJ and OJ+rhGH suffered from bile duct ligation,while the SO group did not.Two weeks later,rats in OJ+rhGH group were injected with rhGH subcutaneously once a day.The dose was 0.75 Iu/kg.The other two groups were injected with the same amount of saline.The endotoxin(ETX),the liver function and TNFa were detected four weeks later.Result The level of ETX(0.036?0.010EU/m1) and TNFa(182.00?88.37lpg/ml) in OJ+rhGH were much lower than those in OJ group(0.065?0.011EU/m1 P

BACKGROUND:The aim of present study is to demonstrate that volatile oil of flos magnoliae biondii pamp(VOMbp) possess anti-immunology inflammatory property.OBJECTIVE:To explore the effect of VOMbp on adjuvant arthritis in rats.DESIGN:Grade sampling,randomized controlled quantitative analysis.SETTING:Teaching and Researching Department of Pharmacology,Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.MATERIALS:This study was carried out at the Teaching and Researching Department of Pharmacology,Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December to April in 1999. Totally 120 Wistar rats were involved.METHODS :Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups :model control group, 0.28 mL/kg and 0.14 mL/kg VOMbp group,and 25 mg/kg dex-amethasone group. Allergy were induced in all rats through intra-cutaneous injection of Freund's adjuvant (0.1 mL/rat)at metatarsus so as to establish multiple arthritis model in rat. According to different dosage,the experiments were carried out in three batches with 10 rats in each group.Rats in the first batch were given VOMbp three days before inducing allergy for consecutwe 3 days,in order to observe the influence of VOMbp on adjuvant induced acute non-specific inflammatory;Rats in the second batch were given VOMbp on the 8th day sensitization allergy for consecutive 7days so as to explore the protective effect on secondary pathological changes;rats in the third batch were administratedon the 19th day after sensitization for consecutive 7 days for study in therapeutic effect on sec ondary pathological changes. Meanwhile foot tumefaction and the level of prostaglandin E2in ankle arthritis were observed.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Effect of VOMbp on the adjuvant induced acute non-specific inflammatory. ② Preventive effect on adjuvant arthritis. ③ Therapeutic effect on adjuvant arthritis.RESULTS :① VOMbp could significantly suppress the primary foot tume faction. ②Moreover VOMbp of preventive dosage could most significantly suppress the secondary arthritis tumefaction [(0.231±0.065)mL of 0.28 mL/kg group and ( 0.206±0.082 ) mL of 0.14 mL/kg group] ,accompanied by PG-E2 decrement in tumefaction tissues [(0.133 2±0.057 2), (0.138 5 ±0.042 6)OD278nm correspondingly].③ No obvious effect of VOMbp of therapeutic dosage on secondary inflammatory tumefatcion of arthritis could be observed in 0.14 mL/kg group,but obvious decrement of prostaglandin E2 could be observed in edema tissue;While 0.28 mL/kg VOMbp exerted most significant or significant influence on above parameters. CONCLUSION:VOMbp possess inhibiting effect on Freund's adjuvant induced primary foot tumefaction and secondary arthritis,with the preventive effect better than therapeutic effects.The therapeutic effect was proved better in higher dosage group.

Objective To evaluate efficacy in detecting lung nodules at low-dose CT(LDCT) by nodule enhanced viewing(NEV).Methods One hundred and twenty seven patients who were referred to undergo low-dose CT (LDCT) for the evaluation of pulmonary metastasis or screening lung cancer were selected randomly.Two radiologists with at least 10 years experience read the images with normal clinical reading speed to find actionable nodules ≤ 2.0 cm in maximum diameter,and their consensus result was referred as Standard.NEV was adopted to detect the pulmonary nodules.Two residents with experience of less than three years read first detected suspicious nodules and recorded reading time,first consensus and mean time were recorded.Then,they made second decisions on the images with the help of NEV and the results and the reading time were recorded and analyzed by using wilcoxon test.The sensitivity and accuracy of NEV,residents and residents with NEV were analyzed.Results Standard,resident,NEV and resident with NEV detected 570,404,768 and 593 lung nodules ≤2.0 cm in maximum diameter,respectively.More than 60％ nodules were less than 0.5 cm in maximum diameter.The performance of NEV in detecting nodules ≤2.0 cm as well as nodules ＜ 0.5 cm in maximum diameter was significantly higher than that of the resident(Z =-6.887,P ＜0.01 and Z =-7.235,P ＜0.01),and the performance of resident with NEV indetecting nodules ≤2.0 cm as well as nodules ＜ 0.5 cm in maximum diameter was significantly higher than that of resident without NEV (Z =-6.606,P ＜ 0.01 and Z =-6.657,P ＜ 0.01).The resident,NEV and the resident with NEV detected nodules ＜ 20 mm in maximum diameter with sensitivities of 61.4％,86.3％ and 95.3％,and with accuracy of 56.1％,58.1％ and 87.6％,respectively.The resident achieved sensitivities of 51.4％,88.1％ and 94.8％,and accuracy of 47.0％,56.9％ and 87.5％ for nodules ＜5 mm in maximum diameter,respectively.The resident,NEV and resident with NEV spent 120-444 s,85-262 s and 131-1512 s per case to read the CT scans,respectively.The reading time of resident with NEV in was significantly higher than that of resident without NEV(Z =-9.781,P ＜ 0.01).The resident spent 23 s per NEV mark.Conclusion NEV considerable improves the resident's performance in lung nodule detection,especially in maximum diameter ＜ 0.5 cm nodule detection.

Objective To explore the effects of AP on pulmonary fibrosis. Methods Alveolar macrophages (AM) were treated by AP for 24 hours. Pulmonary fibroblasts (FB) were cultured with the supernatant of AM medium. The protein of transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-?1) of AM, the proliferative activity and hydroxyproline (Hyp) content of FB were examined. Rats were treated with AP by intratracheal instillation and sacrificed at 3 days. The TGF-?1 mRNA content in the lung was examined. Objective To investigate the anti-tumor effects of hydroxycamptothecin ( HCPT ) with different lactone ratios on the mice models of H22 hepatoma. Methods Mice models of H22 hepatoma were established. Tumor inhibiting rates of HCPT with different lactone ratios ( 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) and the growth status of model mice before and after chemotherapy were observed. Serum biochemical indices were determined to investigate the effects of HCPT with different lactone ratios on hepatic and renal function of the mice. Results Positive control drug and HCPT with different lactone ratios all inhibited the tumor in mice with H22 hepatoma, the inhibition rate was 65. 30%, 12. 57%, 49. 23%, 75. 47%, 90. 06% and 93. 22%, respectively. Compared with the model control group, the living conditions of the mice in HCPT groups were improved. With increasing of lactone ratios, the hepatic injury was alleviated markedly, but the renal injury was aggravated. Conclusion There is a positive correlation between lactone ratios and its anti-tumor effect, and HCPT with 75% lactone can achieve preferable anti-tumor effect with less toxicity as compared with that with 100% lactone ratio.

Objective To explore the effects of dexmedetomidine on analgesia of general anesthesia in elderly patients with lumbar vertebra surgery.Methods From August 2013 to for August 2014, 80 cases elderly patients with fracture of lumbar vertebra and prepared to have an surgery of pedicle screw internal fixation in Department of Anesthesiology in Beijing Jishuitan Hospital were admitted , and divided into control group and observation group.The control group were continuously-pumped with sufentanil and the observation group with dexmedetomidine for anesthesia.The anesthetic effect were compared between two groups.Results The rate of sedative satisfaction in observation group post-anesthesia was higher than that in control group (100.0%vs.75.0%;χ2 =11.429,P<0.05).The Ramesay score, awaking and extubation time perioperational period in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).The analgesic effect in observation group was higher than that in control group(100.0%vs. 90.0%;χ2 =4.211,P<0.05).Conclusion Dexmedetomidine has the obvious sedative and analgesic effect on elderly patients with lumbar vertebra surgery.
