Objective To discuss the expansion model of the eyeball and investigate the morphologic characteristics of high-my- opic eyeball through the dimensional measurement in high-myopia and emmetropia by MRI. Design Case controll study. Participants Thirty-two emmetropes (60 eyes) and 33 high myopes (60 eyes) were enrolled, without eye diseases and history of ocular surgery or in- jury. Methods 60 high-myopic eyes and 60 emmetropic eyes were measured with MRI (I.5T,PHILIPS) to get the data of three inner ocular dimensions, intraocular volume and the volume of different parts. Main Outcome Measures Three dimensions and volumes of eyeballs. Results The average value of axial (28.16?2.80 mm), horizontal (22.87+1.23 mm) and vertical length (23.40?0.99 ram) of high-myopic eyes were much bigger than those of emmetropic eyes(P=0.000), especially the axial length( with difference of 5.38 mm); The axial length was correlated with refractive error (0.36 mm/D,r~2=0.88, P=0.000). The average value of the whole ocular volume (7. 46?0.89 ml) and vitreous volume(6.90?0.8 ml) of the high myopic eyes were bigger than those of emmetropic eyes(P=0.000), while ante- rior segment volume and lens volume were about the same as that of emmetropic eyes (P=0.220, P=0.630). Conclusions The three di- mensions of high-myopic eyes were significantly longer than that of emmetropic eyes. In high myopes, the increased vitreous volume lead to the increase of the whole ocular volume. There may be two models in the ocular expansion of high myopia: global expansion and axial elongation expansion. More serious refractive error cause more obvious expansion in axial elongation.

OBJECTIVETo investigate effects of the variation of immune function in high humidity environment in different time, and lay a foundation for further study of the related mechanism.

METHODThirty SD rats were divided into 3 groups (n = 10): 20 day group, 40 day group in 90% relative humidity chamber and control group in normal relative humidity. Peripheral blood and spleens were collected to detect the levels of T lymphocyte subsets by Flow Cytometery.

RESULTSIn peripheral blood of the 20 day group rats, the CD3+ %, CD4+ %, CD8+ % and CD4+/CD8+ were 52.91 +/- 6.27, 37.80 +/- 4.11, 14.85 +/- 3.73 and 2.72 +/- 0.82 separately. Expect CD3+ %, they all had significant differences (P < 0.05). In addition, the data of the 40 day group rats showed no diversity in statistics. In spleen, CD8+ % of the 20 day group rats was 6.23 +/- 2.87 with significant differences (P < 0.05) and IgG, IgA and IgM did not change a lot in blood serum of the high humidity groups except C3 of the 20 days group (P < 0.05).

CONCLUSIONIn high humidity environment, the immune function of the rats increased in the initial stage. As time went on, the immune function gradually went to normal level through the self adjustment.

Objectives To investigate the prevalence of animal plague in Horqin Right Front County and provide scientific bases for prevention and treatment of the disease.Methods Plague surveillance was carried out according to the requirements of National Plague Monitoring Programme at 3 monitoring points in Horqin Right Front County in 2012.Squirrel density,the number of small rats,rat fleas,pathogenic and serological surveillance of Yersinia pestis were included in the study.Results A total of 356 dauricus were captured,the average density was 0.88 rats/hm2; female and male ratio was 1 ∶ 1.31 and the female embryo rate was 96.46％.The captured 13 small nocturnal mice belonged to 2 species,which included 10 cricetulus barabensis and 3 cricetulus longicaudatus,and the capture rate of small nocturnal mouse was 4.33％ (13/300).A total of 98 rat fleas were collected from 25 rats; rat flea carrying rate was 100％(25/25) and flea index was 3.92.Eighty rat burrows were detected,and flea index was 0.188.Pathogen test results were negative.Indirect hemagglutination test was used to examine 356 rat sera and 1 serum was positive.Conclusions Detection of positive rat sera has proved the existence of plague epidemic in Horqin Right Front County.Therefore,the work on plague prevention and control has a long way to go.

Objective To develop an interlocking-style vascular shunt device for the treatment of distal limb ischemia resulting from vascular disconnection and defect.Methods A one-way interlocking buckle was designed with the space between the clamping teeth being 0.5 mm,which prevented the device from moving backwards and fixed the vessel and shunt tube conveniently.The interlocking buckle combined with silicone tube was used to connect the two ends of the defected vessel,which was compared with conventional method by suture ligation and silicone tube by the tests on vessel bursting pressure and tensile biomechanics.Results The vessel repaired with the developed device behaved better than that by the conventional method in the tests on vessel bursting pressure and tensile biomechanics (P＜0.05).Conclusion The vascular shunt device can be used for the treatment of distal limb ischemia resulting from vascular disconnection and defect,and thus facilitates the vascular graft in rear hospital after evacuation.

Background The quantitative analysis of the relationship between the vitreous volume with diopter and axial length in high myopic eye can offer a valuable basis for relevant clinical research. However, how to measure the ocular volume in vivo is a problem. Objective This study was to measure the eyeball volumes with magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI) and compare the difference of ocular volume between emmetropic and high-myopic eyes in order to explore the influent factors of changes of eyeball volumes. Methods The volumes of ocular anterior segment,lens and vitreous were measured using MRI( 1.5-T) in 60 emmetropic eyes and 60 high-myopic eyes. The ocular axial lengths of the subjects were measured by A-scan ultrasonography. The alterations of vitreous volumes with the changes of axial lengths and diopters were evaluated by linear regression analysis. Written informed consent was obtained from each patient before any medical examination. Results The mean diopters of high myopic eyes was ( - 15. 62 ± 8. 27 ) D and the mean axial lengths were ( 28. 68 ± 2. 68 ) mm, showing a significantly positive correlation between them(R2=0. 830,P = 0. 000). The mean total ocular volumes were(7.46±0. 89)ml3 and those of vitreous were ( 6. 90 ± 0. 8 ) ml3 in the high-myopic eyes with a significant increase in comparison with emmetropic eyes [ ( 6. 00 ± 0. 35 ) ml3 and ( 5. 41 ±0. 32 ) ml3 ] ( t = - 11. 846, P = 0. 000; t = - 12. 1, P = 0. 000 ). However,no significant differences were found in the anterior segment volumes and lens volumes between high myopic eyes and emmetropic eyes (t = 1. 23, P = 0. 220; t = -0. 483 , P = 0. 630 ). The vitreous volumes of high myopic eyes were significantly correlated with the diopters and the axial lengths (R2 =0. 75 ,P = 0. 000 ;R2 =0. 85 ,P = 0. 000) ,and so were the total ocular volumes (R2 = 0. 7543, P = 0. 000; R2 = 0. 8413, P = 0. 000). Conclusion The alteration of vitreous volumes is a mainly cause of difference of total ocular volume in ammetropic eyes. In high myopic eye, vitreous volume has a good linear correlation with refractive error and axial length, which may offer valuable information for vitrectomy.

Objective To study the effects of tanshinone on the cultured immortalized human sebocytes and explore the mechanism of action of tanshinone in the treatment of acne. Methods MTT assay was applied to determine the effects of cryptotanshinone and tanshinone Ⅱ? at different concentrations on the proliferation of SZ95 sebocytes in 24 h, 48 h and 72 h after incubation. Lipid contents labeled with Nile red in SZ95 cells were analyzed by flow cytometry technique, and the expression of androgen receptor (AR) mRNA of SZ95 cells were detected by RT-PCR. Results Both cryptotanshinone and tanshinoneⅡ? inhibited the proliferation of SZ95 cells in a dose- and time-dependent mode, with the 50% inhibition concentration (IC50) of 7.473 ?mol/L (in 48 h) and 2.146?mol/L (in 72 h) for cryptotanshinone and 6.021 ?mol/L (in 48 h) and 2.25 ?mol/L (in 72 h) for tanshinone Ⅱ?. BACKGROUND: Plating ankle arthrodesis includes anterior and lateral plating methods, but there is some lack of knowledge about their differences in biomechanics. OBJECTIVE: To establish the three-dimensional models of anterior and lateral plating ankle arthrodesis through three-dimensional finite element technique, simulate human gait, and to analyze its biomechanical stability and safety. METHODS: The geometrical morphology of ankle joint was reconstructed based on the normal human ankle CT data. The models of anterior and lateral plating ankle arthrodesis were established using finite element analysis software Abaqus 2016, and the biomechanical changes after exerting stress at the positions of intorsion,extorsion, dorsiflexion, and neutral were analyzed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: (1) The maximal displacement and stress distribution under different stress were compared between two models by three-dimensional element analysis, and there was no significant difference in the stability between two models. (2) The abilities of resistance to intorsion and dorsiflexion stresses of the lateral plating model were slightly better than those of the anterior plating model, but the resistance to extorsion stress of the lateral plating model was lower than that of the anterior plating model; the stress peak both concentrated on the plate-screw connections. (3) The plate, screw and bone mass of the anterior plating model showed the maximum stress peak under intorsion stress, and broken plates and nails usually occur. (4) The lateral plating presented with peak stress under extorsion stress.
