The binding of pefloxacin mesylate (PFLX) to bovine lactoferrin (BLf) and human serum albumin (HSA) in dilute aqueous solution was studied using fluorescence spectra and absorbance spectra. The binding constant K and the binding sites n were obtained by fluorescence quenching method. The binding distance r and energy-transfer efficiency E between pefloxacin mesylate and bovine lactoferrin as well as human serum albumin were also obtained according to the mechanism of Förster-type dipole-dipole nonradiative energy-transfer. The effects of pefloxacin mesylate on the conformations of bovine lactoferrin and human serum albumin were also analyzed using synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of radiosynovectomy with 32P colloid in haemophilic synovitis of adolescents. MethodsRadiosynovectomy with 32P colloid was primary performed on 26 male haemophilic patients(26 joints),whose average age was 16 years(11 to 21 years). The average dose of 32P colloid was 2.1 mCi(1.0 to 3.0 mCi). Results After 6-month interval, haemarthrosis was reduced by no less than 30% in 23 patients, with a total efficacy of 88.5%.The mean frequency of haemarthrosis was reduced from 1.9 per month of presynovectomy to 0.3 per month of postsynovectomy(P

AIM: To study the causes of pyogenic granuloma after hydroxyapatite(HA) orbital implants.METHODS: HA orbital implants (250 cases) in our hospital (68 pegged implants) were reviewed. All patients were followed up from 18 months to 10 years. Implants were removed after medical therapy which was proved to be ineffective.RESULTS: Ten of 250 cases of HA orbital implants developed pyogenic granuloma. Pyogenic granuloma occurred in 1 unpegged implants patient and 9 patients after pegging and drilling of HA implantation over 4~7 years. The pyogenic granulomas were not controlled by medical therapy effectively. Implants were removed in 9 cases except 1 case denied removing and continued medical therapy.CONCLUSION: Pyogenic granuloma was serious complication that occurred after HA orbital implants. Partial vascularization, implant exposure, xenogenic sclera implant, pegging and drilling of HA implantation are risk factors that affect the development of pyogenic granuloma.Pyogenic granuloma hasn't relation with implanted peg material. Pyogenic granuloma denotes the potential implant infection, and all implants should be removed finally.

Objective To compare the curative effect of internal fixation treatment between reconstruction-type intramedullary nailing and long anatomic proximal femoral locking plate for patients with ipsilateral femoral proximal and shaft fractures. Methods Twenty-six patients with ipsilateral femoral proximal and shaft fractures were selected, among whom 12 patients were treated with reconstruction-type intramedullary nailing internal fixation treatment (group A), and 14 patients were treated with long anatomic proximal femoral locking plate internal fixation treatment (group B). The fracture to operation time, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, fracture healing time and hip joint function according to Majeed function score were compared between 2 groups. Results The fracture to operation time, operation time, intraoperative blood loss, proximal femoral fracture healing time, femoral shaft fracture healing time and Majeed function score in group A were (6.65 ± 4.11) d, (131.08 ± 20.70) min, (470.83 ± 96.43) ml, (17.83 ± 2.70) weeks, (20.08 ± 3.97) weeks and (83.83 ± 8.13) scores, and those in group B were (7.13 ± 4.56) d, (141.86 ± 27.30) min, (553.57 ± 127.80) ml, (18.29 ± 5.12) weeks, (21.55 ± 4.19) weeks and (83.21 ± 9.58) scores, and there were no statistical differences (P>0.05). According to Majeed function score, in group A excellent was in 7 cases, good in 4 cases, and general in 1 case; in group B excellent was in 9 cases, good in 3 cases, and general in 2 cases. Conclusions A fixation device fixes two fracture is preferred. Both treatment methods used in the present study could achieve satisfactory curative effect, and should be chosen according to the fracture type of the patients and the surgeon′s familiarity for the methods of internal fixation chosen. The proximal femoral fracture should preferably be reduced and stabilized first. A delay of 5 - 6 d would not affect the ultimate curative effect.

OBJECTIVE To define the regularity of survival ability of HIV in natural environment, and prevent(infection) through contacting with positive body fluids during daily life or medical work.METHODS Having been diluted by sterile water or 10% serum RPMI 1640 medium,HIV was exposed to 4℃,room temperature(20-26℃) or 37℃ for different period of time.TCID_(50) of these samples was detected.Non-pathological samples were blind passaged for three generations.RESULTS HIV infective ability persisted more than 35 days both in(water) and medium at 4℃;whereas it persisted 7-14 days in water,14-21 days in medium at room temperature and 37℃.CONCLUSIONS HIV has higher resistance in natural environment. To prevent accidental spreading of HIV,HIV positive liquids and contaminants staffs should be treated carefully.

OBJECTIVETo investigate mechanism and relation of some disorder motive forces of digest system in patients with liver cirrhosis.
METHODSPlasma vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP), gastrin and motilin (MTL), electrogastrogram (EGG) and pH value of gastric juice in 24 hours; gastric elimination time by isotope. All above factors have been determined in patients with liver cirrhosis and analyzed with multiple linear regressions. While a group of normal cases has been observed as control.
RESULTSCompared to the control group, higher level of VIP and Gastrin and lower MTL down were observed in liver cirrhosis group (Plasma VIP, Gastrin and MTL are 14.8+/-4.8, 58.6+/-29.8 and 360+/-54.2 separately, t=5.181, 0.05, t=3.871, 0.01 and t=5.529, 0.05 separately). The EGG dominant frequency (DF) and dominant power (DP) decreased around diet; normal slow wave number (N%) decreased and gastric excretion time prolonged, lower bradygastrias (B%) and pH value of 24 hours gastric juice denoted the incline of return movement, there are remarked different with 0.05 or 0.01 separately. Throughout analyzing these factors with multiple linear regressions, there are remarkable relationship between liver cirrhosis and pH value of gastric juice; gastrointestinal hormone and EGG with 0.05 or 0.01.
CONCLUSION(1) There are remarkable gastro esophageal function abnormal which has been conveyed by disorder gastric electric physiology and gastric elimination time in patients with liver cirrhosis. It is suggested that unusual gastrointestinal hormone played an important role during these abnormal process. (2) There is remarkable changing of pH value of 24 hours gastric juice denoted the opposite movement of gastroduodenal juice in patients with liver cirrhosis.
