OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for rational use of antibiotics to treat Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) infection in the clinic. METHODS:Resistant rate of PA in our hospital during 2011-2015 were analyzed retrospectively. Antibiotics use densi-ty(AUD)of 10 commonly used antibiotics were analyzed statistically, and the correlation of resistant rate with AUD was investi-gated by Spearman correlation analysis. RESULTS:One thousaud and eleven strains of PA were isolated in our hospital during 2011-2014,detection rate of PA always occupied the top 5 place. Top 3 antibiotics in the list of AUD were levofloxacin,ceftazi-dime,cefoperazone sodium and tazobactam sodium. AUD of piperacillin sodium and tazobactam sodium,levofloxacin,ciprofloxa-cin and meropenem were positively correlated with resistant rate of PA(r were 1.000,0.900,1.000,1.000,P<0.05). AUD of ce-foperazone sodium and tazobactam sodium were negatively correlated with resistant rate of PA(r=-0.900,P<0.05). AUD of imi-penem and cilastatin sodium, ceftazidime, gentamicin, aztreonam and amikacin had no correlation with resistant rate of PA(P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:There is correlation between AUD of antibiotics and resistant rate of PA. It is of important significance to detect resistant rate of PA and the use of antibiotics regularly. Antibiotics should be selected cautiously in accordance with bacterial monitoring data, results of drug sensitivity tests, the amount and resistant rate of antibiotics, etc,in order to reduce resistant PA.

Objective To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of metabolic syndrome (MS) in residents in Pudong New District of Shanghai. MethodsA total of 5 584 residents aged 20-80 years were randomly selected from Pudong New District of Shanghai through multistage sampling and interviewed from April to July of 2008. Metabolic syndrome was defined according to three diagnostic criteria for MS, issued by the modified National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel Ⅲ criteria ( NCEP-ATP Ⅲ ), International Diabetes Federation (IDF), and Chinese Diabetes Society (CDS). ResultsThe crude prevalences of MS in the adult population in Pudong New District were 18.2% and 13.1% standardized ( male 19. 1%, female 17.4%, the age-standardized 15.6% and 13.2% ) with CDS criterion, 31.8% and 24.4% standardized ( male 28.4% ,female 35.1% ,the agestandardized 22. 7% and 25.0% ) with NCEP-ATP Ⅲ criterion, and 21.7% and 17.0% standardized ( male 15.9% ,female 26.7%, the age-standardized 13.8% and 19.2% ) with IDF criterion. The age-specific prevalence of MS increased according to three diagnostic criteria, and the age-adjusted prevalence was higher in males than females in junior age groups and higher in females than males in senior ones. Significant differences were present among region, education, marriage status, smoking, work intensity, recreation, and physical activity according to some diagnostic criteria. ConclusionsSubstantial proportions of adults in Pudong New District of Shanghai suffer from metabolic syndrome, and there exists a tendency for young people involved. MS has become a noteworthy public health problem. It suggests that community-integrated control strategy of MS should be made a priority.

AIMTo approach the effects of multi-site synchronous ventricular pacing on myocardial mechanics and cardiac work.
METHODSFive modes of multi-site synchronous ventricular pacing were randomly performed in 12 dogs with anesthetized, opened chest and artificial-ventilation. Some parameters were measured simultaneously including: the peak of left ventricular pressure rise and fall (+/- dp/ dt(max)), the time constant of left ventricular relaxation(tau), the muscle tensile force in left/right ventricular wall (V-tensile force, V-TF), SV, LVSW and RVSW.
RESULTSThe myocardial systolic mechanical parameters: +dp/dt(max) and LV-TF of cHisB-LVPL and RVA-LVPL pacing by biventricular pacing modes were increased than that of cHisB-RVA pacing in right ventricular bifocal pacing mode. +dp/dt(max) in above two groups of biventricular pacing was increased than that in cHisB-RVA pacing. Tau value of cHisB-LVPL and RVA-LVPL pacing modes were shorted than that of cHisB-RVA pacing. The above parameters of cHisB-RVA-LVPL and cHisB-RVA-LVA biventricular trifocal pacing were superior to that of cHisB-LVPL and RVA-LVPL biventricular pacing. The +dp/dt(max), LV-TF and RV-TF of cHisB-RVA-LVPL pacing were increased as compared with that of cHisB-RVA-LVA pacing (P > 0.05). The -dp/dt(max) in cHisB-RVA-LVPL pacing were increased by 6.0% and tau value was shorted by 3.7% compared with those in cHisB-RVA-LVA pacing (P > 0.05). SV, LVSW and RVSW of cHisB-LVPL and RVA-LVPL biventricular pacing were increased than those of cHisB-RVA bifocal pacing. The above parameters of cHisB-RVA-LVPL pacing were increased than that of cHisB-RVA-LVA and cHisB-LVPL pacing.
CONCLUSIONIt was explained that the cHisB-RVA-LVPL biventricular trifocal sites synchronous pacing mode would increase the velocity of ejection and filling during myocardial contraction and relaxation and enhance cardiac work by maintaining normal VSS.

Objective To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in adult residents of Shanghai Pudong New Area. Methods A total of 5584 residents aged 20-80 years old were randomly selected from Shanghai Pudong New Area through multistage sampling and interview between April and July 2008. Fasting blood samples and morning urine samples were collected to detect Scr and urinary albumin and creatinine. Urine albumin to creatinine ratio (ACR) and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) was calculated to estimate the renal function. Logistic regression model was used to examine the associations of demographic and lifestyle factors with indicators of kidney damage. Results The age-standardized prevalence of albuminuria, reduced renal function and CKD was 9.9% (male 8.0%, female 12.4%), 1.1% (male 1.3%, female 0.9%) and 11.0%(male 8.8%, female 12.7%), respectively. The prevalence of CKD was higher in female and increased with age. No significant difference in the prevalence was observed between urban and rural areas. Elder, female, high blood pressure, high fasting glucose, dyslipidemia and obesity were associated with CKD independently. Conclusions The prevalence of CKD in Shanghai Pudong New Area is comparable to that previously reported in China or other developed countries, and even higher. CKD is going to be a public health problem and warrants the community-integrated control strategy to prevent the incidence of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and related complications.

Objective To deduce carotid elasticity transmission index (CETI) and explore the correlation between CETI and intima-media thickness (IMT) of the carotid artery to investigate the clinical value of CETI. Methods Seventy-seven patients with essential hypertension (EH) and 24 healthy controls were collected. Their blood flow rate of cerebral arteries was detected by transcranial Doppler (TCD) and the pulsatility index (PI) was calculated. Their IMT and blood flow rate of common carotid artery (CCA) were detected by difunctional color Doppler; and then, their PI was calculated to analyze the correlation between CETI and IMT by curve fitting. The formulas were determined as: CETI1=PIMCA/PICCA, CETI2=PHCA/PICCA and CETB=PIBA/PICCA. Multiple stepwise regression analysis was employed to reflect the sensitive factors of IMT and CETI. Results Curvilinear correlation (curve of quadratic equation) was noted between CETI, including CETI1, CETI2 and CETI3, and IMT; each of the determination coefficient was r2=0.665, 0.601 and 0.573, respectively. Quadratic equations were y1=0.504+0.049x+0.203x2, r=0.815, P=0.000; y2= 1.009-1.141x+0.891x2, r=0.775, P= 0.000; y3=0.775-0.687x+0.641x2, 7=0.756, P=0.000. Among them, the correlation between CETI1 and IMT was the most significant. Linear regression was noted between IMT and LDL-C, daily dosage of smoking, SBP and gender. Linear regression was noted between CETT1 and both SBP and daily dosage of smoking. Linear regression was noted between CETI1 and both SBP and daily dosage of smoking. Linear regression was noted between CETI3 and SBP, CHOL and daily dosage of smoking. Conclusions CETI increases with the increase of IMT, suggesting that the rate of cerebral atherosclerosis is faster than the one of carotid in hypertensive patients when the elastic reserve of intracranial carotid artery and cerebral arteries decreases and the thickness of IMT increases to a certain extent. The risk factors of CETI are similar to IMT.
