OBJECTIVETo observe the curative effect of porous tantalum rod and Gugutou Huaisiyu Capsule (GHC) for steroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head (SONFH).
METHODSA total 60 hips of 50 SONFH patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group and the control group according to grouping time, 25 in each group (30 hips). Patients in the control group were implanted with porous tantalum rod, while those in the treatment group additionally took GHC (5 pills each time, three time per day for 2 successive months; and then twice per day for 4 successive months). Then all patients were followed-up to observe Harris hip score. The curative effect and the femoral head survival time were assessed.
RESULTSA total of 49 patients (59 hips) were followed-up. The Harris hip score of the two groups at the final follow-up was significantly improved after treatment, with statistical difference when compared with before treatment (P < 0.01). Besides, it was higher in the treatment group than in the control group. The curative effect and the survival time were superior in the treatment group, with statistical difference when compared with the control group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSPorous tantalum rod combined GHC got better effect in treating SONFH. It could significantly improve the function of affected hips and prolong the survival time of femoral head.

Aim To develop the in vitro and in vivo models induced by shrimp tropomyosin( ST) and mono-clonal tropomyosin-specific murine IgE antibody ( anti-ST-IgE mAb) . Methods ST was purified from Metap-enaeusensis by an isoelectric precipitation method. The anti-ST-IgE mAb was obtained from hybridomas. After RBL-2 H3 cells were sensitized with anti-ST-IgE mAb and challenged with ST,β-hexosaminidase release was determined. Passive systemic anaphylaxis ( PSA ) was induced in mice and the rectal temperature was recor-ded after ST challenge within 30 min by a thermal probe. Results A significant increase ofβ-hexosamin-idase was observed in sensitized cells after ST chal-lenge. The average temperature drop after ST challenge was 1. 44℃ in PSA mice within 30 min. Conclusion The in vitro and in vivo models induced by ST and anti-ST-IgE mAb are established as an improvement of pres-ent models of type Ⅰ allergy.

Objective:To develop murine models of Th2 response induced by shrimp tropomyosin (ST). Methods:Mice were sensitized with ST for 6 weeks. The serum antigen-special IgE (sIgE),total IgE and sIgG level,Th1/Th2 cytokines production were measured by ELISA. The basophil activation in mice was measured by flow cytometry. Results:The intraperitoneal sensitization with ST for 6 weeks induced significant increase of serum sIgE,total IgE and sIgG (sIgG1,sIgG2a and sIgG2b) level in mice. Th2 cell response was induced and cytokines (IL-4,IL-5,IL-10 and IL-13) production increased in splenocytes stimulated by ST,while Th1 cytokine (IFN-γ) production decreased. As the markers of basophil activation,CD200R and CD41 expression also increased in response to ST. Conclusion:The Th2 response is dominant in ST-induced anaphylaxis in mice.

Objective To investigate the effects of early hemofiltration combined with traditional Chinese medicine on nasal feeding on severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) patients. Methods Seventy four patients were divided into traditional Chinese medicine group (group A, 35 cases) and traditional Chinese medicine+hemofiltration group (group B, 39 cases). In group A, patients were given a serious of procedure including fasting, gastrointestinal decompression, fluid resuscitation, inhi-bition of pancreatic secretion, antibiotic prophylaxis, parenteral nutrition and traditional Chinese medicine on nasal feeding; In group B, patients received continuous veno-venous hemofiltration treatment(also called Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy,CRRT) in addition to the procedures receiving by group A. On admission and the first, 3rd, 7th days post-treatment, the scores of acute physiology and chronic health evaluation (APACHEⅡ), tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-8 (IL-8) levels were recorded. Length of hospital stay, local and systematic complications, surgical inter-vention, mortality and hospitalization expenses were compared between two groups. Results On admission, no statistical significance was seen in the hematocrit, white blood cell count, lactic acid dehydrogenase, blood urea nitrogen, blood glu-cose, APACHEⅡscore, Ranson’s score and classification of etiology between these two groups (P>0.05). But APACHEⅡ, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8 were decreased significantly in group B than in group A, after the first, 3rd, 7th days post-treatment (P<0.05). Compared with group A, the length of hospital stay, local complications, systemic complications, surgical interven-tion, mortality and hospitalization expense were lower in group B. Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine on nasal feed-ing combined with early hemofiltration could effectively reduce complications, incidence of organ dysfunction and could im-prove the prognosis of SAP patients.

BACKGROUNDBone metastasis is very common in lung cancer patients. Metastasis to spine can lead to paralysis and fracture, deteriorate the quality of patient's life. The objective of this study is to investigate the diagnostic values of bone scanning (NBS), MRI, CT and X-ray examination to discover bone meastasis of lung cancer, and the therapy of bone metastasis and the prognostic factors.
METHODSAbout 561 consecutive NSCLC cases were analyzed with NBS and compared with other radiological examinations (MRI, CT and X-ray).
RESULTSOut of the 455 positive patients by NBS, 300 cases were confirmed to be with bone metastases by dynamic follow-up, MRI, CT and X-ray, and 5 cases were false negative. The sensitivity and specificity of NBS was 98.36% and 39.45% respectively. The accuracy of NBS was 71.48%. Among the 305 patients with bone metastases, 23 patients had no records, 138 patients had bone pain, the incidence of asymptomatic bone metastasis was 47.21%. Multivariables analysis showed that asymptomatic bone metastasis, flat bone metastases, therapy with disodium pamidronate were significantly good prognostic factors, respectively (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONSA whole body NBS examination is preferred for the staging of NSCLC. NBS is necessary for patients with NSCLC. In order to exclude the possible false positive or false negative diagnosis by NBS, CT or MRI could be selected according to the sites of lesions.
