1.Clinical Electrophysiological Studies on the Chronic Recurrent Sustained Ventricular Tachycardia.
Korean Circulation Journal 1984;14(2):243-251
Clinical electrophysiological studies(EPS) were done in seven patients with chronic recurrent sustained ventricular tachycardia(VT) in an attempt to delineate the reproducibility and to select the effective antiarrhythmic drugs for the prevention of the recurrence of VT. We could induce and terminate the sustained VT, and could select the effective antiarrhythmic drugs in all patient in the cardiac catheterization laboratory with EPS. With these effective antiarrhythmic drugs VT did not recur for the follow up period of 15 to 20 months. In view of the serious nature of the VT and the demonstrated benefits of EPS, we could conclude that patients with chronic recurrent sustained VT should undergo EPS.

2.A Clinical Study on the Antihypertensive Effects of Lasix(R) Retard 30.
Korean Circulation Journal 1980;10(1):65-69
The antihypertensive action of Lasix(R) retard 30 was evaluated in 20 cases of essential hypertension on an outpatient basis. The following results were obtained. 1. The patient population comprised 11 males and 9 females, aged 32 to 67 years, with mild to moderate essential hypertension. mean age was 50 years, with 75% between 40 and 59 years of age. 2. The daily effective doses ranged from 1 to 3 capsules with an average of 1.7 capsules. The total duration of medication ranged from 4 to 12 weeks with an average of 6.5 weeks. 3. In 60% of the cases, good or fair control of blood pressure was resulted. Most of the poor results were in the cases of moderate hypertension, but the results could be improved with continuous treatment or combination with other antihypertensive drugs. 4. Transient dizziness and drowsiness were complained by 2 patients, but subsided spontaneously with continuous treatment. 5. In view of these results, Lasix retard 30 appears to be effective and well tolerated agent for the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension, either used alone or combined with other antihypertensive drugs.

In order to find out a valuable control measure for soil-transmitted parasties, the infectivity in mice of Ascaris eggs irradiated with Cobalt(60) were examined. The results were summarised as follows. In vitro, Ascaris eggs irradiated with larger doses of Cobalt(60) developed poorly, and no difference was found between fresh eggs and those cultured for a few days. Ascaris eggs irradiated with doses of 200,000 rad. developed at the rate of 90 percent after 4 weeks, whereas those irradiated with 1,000,000 rad. developed 28 percent. Ascaris eggs irradiated with Cobalt(60) after 2 weeks of culture were poor in development compared with those of 4 week culture. Eggs cultured for 5 weeks showed weaker infectivity in mice than those cultured for 8 weeks. In the control groups, the infectivity in mice of Ascaris eggs was remained the same between 5 and 8 weeks. The minimum dose of Cobalt(60) irradiation effective for preventing infectivity in mice was estimated to be 200,000 rad.

7.A Study on Nurses' Perception for Nutrition Education Working in Kyungnam area.
Yun Young CHOI ; Hyun Sook YOON
Journal of the Korean Dietetic Association 2003;9(4):278-287
This study was performed to investigate nurses' perception for nutrition education. The subjects of this study were 197 nurses and 94 nursing assistants working at hospitals in the Kyung-nam area. The survey was conducted by using a self-administered questionnaire in November, 2001. The results were as follows : Sixty-seven point seven percent of the subjects were nurse, 32.3% were nursing assistant. Average age of subjects was 26.9 years old, average nursing experience was 5.7 years, and 70.7% of the subjects graduated from a junior college. The average nutrition knowledge score was 14.3+/-2.5 out of possible 20 points. Seventy-four point two percent of the subject responded that nutrition education is very necessary for patient, and positive responses in the nurse were higher than that nursing assistant(p<0.001). Only 8.6% of the subjects had nutrition education training. The perceptions about a suitable person for nutrition counseling and nutrition education indicated dietitian(69.3%) and nurse(21.3%). Fifty-two point eight percent of the subjects responded that they would not participate in nutrition education themselves and the main reason for this was that they believed lack of expert knowledge(43.4%), and that such courses should be taught by specialist(40.5%). Forty-eight point eight percent of subjects had nutrition counseling experience for patient, and nurses, married nurses and those over 2 years of nursing careers had significantly higher nutrition counseling experience for patient than nursing assistant, unmarried nurses and those under 2 years of nursing careers(p<0.05~p<0.001)

8.Learning Element Recognition and Academic Achievement of Nursing Student Receiving PBL with Simulation Education.
Journal of Korean Academy of Adult Nursing 2008;20(5):731-742
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to analyze how a nursing student recognizes PBL with simulation education and its relationship to academic achievement. METHODS: The study objects were the students in C college who learn through PBL using simulator for 15 weeks(September 2007 to December 2007). Learning element recognition was developed by Cho(2002) and three key evaluations(performance, self-evaluation, and colleague evaluation) were designed by professors. RESULTS: Learning element recognition ranged from 2.37 to 4.83 with the average at 3.94. For Learning element recognition, students who preferred discussion score 4.15. This was statistically more significant than those who do not. Students who preferred presentations show significantly higher score in colleague evaluation. For Learning element recognition and academic achievement, self-evaluation and colleague evaluation showed relationship to PBL learning element. CONCLUSION: There was definitely a relationship with PBL learning element and academic achievement after learning the PBL with simulation education.

Korean Circulation Journal 1979;9(2):37-42
Serum Lipoperoxide levels were studied in 50 normal Korean and in the following patients; 26 patients with diabetes mellitus, 20 patients with hypertension, 14 patients with ischemic heart disease, 8 patients with cerebrovascular accident and 6 patients with nephrotic syndrome. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. In normal Korean, the average serum lipoperoxide level was 2.62+/-0.27 nmoles M.D. A./ml, with no difference by the sex. 2. In the cases with various disease which in supposed to be related to abnormal lipid metabolism, that is, diabetes mellitus, hypertension, ischemic heart disease, nephrotic syndrome, the serum lipoperoxide value showed statistically significant elevation compared to that of the normal control (p<0.01), but in the patients with cerebrovascular accident the elevation was not significant (p>0.05). 3. The serum lipoperoxide level was coarsely related with the serum concentration of cholesterol and total lipid, the correlation coefficient of which were 0.34 and 0.35 respectively (p<0.05).
