Objective To discuss the effect of health education to family members of patients with chronic heart failure. Methods 150 patients with family members as accompanies were divided into the observation group and the control group with 75 patients in each group. Health education was given to patients as well as their family members in the observation group, while health education was given only to the patients in the control group. The mastering of disease-related knowledge by family members of the observation group was observed after 15 days. The rehospitalization of the two groups by telephone follow-up was carried out six months after discharge. Results The mastering of disease-related knowledge by family members of the observation group was better compared with before health education. The rehospitalization rate of the observation group was 13.3%, which was lower than 44.0% of the control group. Conclusions Health education to family members of patients with chronic heart failure can increase treatment effect of patients, decrease disease relapse and lower rehospitalization rate.

Homeostasis between the host and viruses is naturally maintained. On the one hand, the immune system activates the immune re-sponse to kill or eliminate viruses;on the other hand, the immune system controls the immune response to maintain immune homeostasis. The cause of persistent infections with hepatitis viruses such as HBV and HCV is that viral molecules damage the immune system of the host and their variants escape immune clearance.Long-term coexistence of the host and viruses is the process involving various immune cells and molecules and is the result of homeostasis maintenance in antiviral immune response. The immune homeostasis maintained during persis-tent infections with hepatitis viruses is analyzed by the cellular and molecular mechanisms.

The genetic analysis of herpesviruses has been a constant challenge, due to the large, complex genomes of herpesviruses and mutagenesis of viral genes by conventional recombination methods in cell culture. Recently, a completely new approach for full-length infectious clones of herpesviruses based on bacterial artificial chromosomes (BACs) has been developed. This technique allows the maintenance, propagation and genetic modification of the viral genome as a BAC plasmid in E.coli, thus making the procedures fast, safe and effective in prokaryotic cells. This technique also makes it possible for the reconstitution of viral progeny or mutants by transfection of the BAC plasmid into eukaryotic cells, thereby facilitating the analysis of viral gene functions in the context of genome. In this presentation, Epstein-Barr virus was used as an example to describe the principle, establishment of the technique and mutation introduction into the BAC plasmid, and to discuss the perspective in the use of BAC-cloned herpesviruses.

Objective To observe the outcome of patients with ocular cicatricial pemphigoid (OCP) after amniotic membrane grafting or penetrating keratoplasty.Design Retrospective, noncomparative case series.Participants 3 consecutive OCP patients (4 eyes),were included. Methods For 3 patients (4 eyes) in this study, preoperative visual acuity was from HM/5 cm to HM/10 cm.The symblepharon (gradeⅢ) of 2 patients (3 eyes) were detached and amniotic membrane was transplanted, and bandage contact lens were used till 2 months after operations. The other patient (1 eye) was undergone penetrating keratoplasty with glycerol-cryopreserved cornea because of corneal ulcer and perforation.Main Outcome Measures Visual acuity, recovering of conjunctiva and cornea. Results Am- niotic membrane dissolved about 1 month after operation in 2 patients (3 eyes).Symblepharon changed from gradeⅢto gradeⅡ,visual acuity increased to 0.04-0.05,central corneal epithelium was regenerated significantly, and a little new vessel appeared at corneal lim- bus in 2 patients (2 eyes). The graft deliquesced in the patient with penetrating keratoplasty at 20 days after operation and undergone penetrating keratoplasty again after 1 month. In this patient, the graft molten induced the ocular contents run-off and became eyeball at- rophy eventually. Conclusion Our small sample study shows that the symblepharon detachment and amniotic membrane transplantation is effective for improving visual acuity in OCP with ocular surface dysfunction. However, because of various factors, penetrating kerato- plasty is ineffective for OCP with perforating corneal ulcer.

To observe the curative effect of treating small -incision cataract extraction by intraocular lens implantation combined with trabeculectomy for primary angle-closure glaucoma with cataract.
●METHODS: Totally 44 cases (52 eyes) of primary angle-closure glaucoma combined with cataract were selected to undergo the combined surgery, in order to observe the patients' pre - and postoperative eyesights, intraocular pressures and the postoperative complications.
●RESULTS: The postoperative eyesight was improved significantly as compared with the preoperative eyesight. The intraocular pressure was declined dramatically. The result was of statistical significance (P<0. 05). All the 52 cases' surgeries were performed by the same surgeon. The surgeries were processed smoothly, with 6 postoperative eyes of anterior chamber inflammation cell response, 3 eyes of anterior chamber fibrinoid exudate, 2 eyes of shallow anterior chamber through mydriasis and treatment with glucocorticoids and non - steroidal eyedrops before absorption, and no complications like malignant glaucoma, cyclodialysis, etc. were reported through mydriasis and pressure bandaging before recovery.
● CONCLUSlON: Treating the primary angle - closure glaucoma combined with cataract through the combined surgery has high reliability and desirable curative effect. The surgical method is simple to learn and applicable for promotion on the basic level.

Objective To investigate the effects of apoptosis and related gene p21WAF1 and Bcl-2 in the tumorigenesis of primary gallbladder neoplasms. Methods p21WAF1 and Bcl-2 were detected by immunohistochemistry and apoptotic cells were stained in situ by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase mediated-dUTP nick end labeling(TUNAL) in 46 cases of primary gallbladder neoplasms with different histological grades. Results Apoptotic index and p21WAF1 were decreased, but the expression of Bcl-2 was increased with the increasing of the histological grades in primary gallbladder neoplasms (P
