To investigate the pathogenesis of Broca-like and Wernicke-like conduction aphasia. Methods 7 cases with Broca-like aphasia (Group A), 7 cases with Wernicke-like aphasia (Group B) and 10 healthy volunteers (Group C) participated in the study. Broca'sarea, Wernicke's area, and the arcuate fasciculus were analyzed by diffusion tensor imaging, and their fractional anisotropy (FA) weremeasured and compared; The fiber construction of Broca's and Wernicke's areas were also compared by diffusion tensor imaging-fibre tractography. Results In Group C, All of the FA was higher in the left hemisphere than in the right hemisphere (P<0.05); In Group A, the FA ofthe Broca's area and anterior segment of the arcuate fasciculus were less in the left than in the right hemisphere (P<0.05); In Group B, theFA of the Wernicke's area and posterior segment of the arcuate fasciculus were less in the left than in the right (P<0.05). Conclusion Conductionaphasia results not only from arcuate fasciculus destruction, but also from disruption of the associated cortical area. A lesion involvingBroca's area and the anterior segments of the arcuate fasciculus would lead to Broca-like conduction aphasia, whereas a lesion involvedWernicke's area and posterior segments of the arcuate fasciculus would lead to Wernicke-like conduction aphasia.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Xuanfeitongfu method in treatment of severe pneumonia and to explore its clinical value in the management of severe pneumonia. Methods Totally,62 patients with severe pneumonia were randomly divided into the control group (n = 30) and the treatment group (n = 32). The control group was given cluster treatment, including oxygen cure,anti-infection and nutrition support and maintaining a stable internal environment and etc. The treatment group was treated with Tongfu decoction orally(one dose a day,a total of 5 days)on a basis of cluster treatment. The comparison was conducted in the 2 groups in the levels of C reaction protein, calcitonin, the change of blood gas analysis, the time of mechanical ventilation and the mortality of severe pneumonia in ICU at baseline and 3,5 days after treatment. Results The level of C-reactive protein, calcitonin, the change of blood gas analysis were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The time of mechanical ventilation and the mortality were better in the treatment group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Xuanfeitongfu method can effectively improve oxygenation ,assist the anti-infection effect ,reduce the time of mechanical ventilation and ICU retention time ,ultimately improve the outcome of severe pneumonia.
10.Effects of Mannan-oligosaccharide on the Growth of Lactobacillus Pure Culture and Co-culture

Microbiology 1992;0(01):-
Effects of mannan-oligosaccharide (MOS) on the growth of Lactobacillus were investigated by pure culture of three swine originated Lactobacillus strains or co-culture with swine pathogenic E. coli. The pure culture results revealed that OD values and lactic acid concentration of three Lactobacillus strains in the MOS supplemented cultures were higher than those of the control group without MOS supplementation, a lower pH was observed for MOS supplement compared with that of the control group. The co-culture results showed that MOS were utilized by both Lactobacillus strains and swine pathogenic E. coli strain. But Lac-tobacillus grew faster than the latter. A significant increase in lactic acid concentration (P
