Objective To study the effects of found in inflammatory zone 1(FIZZ1) on the migration of cul- tured mouse vascular smooth muscle cell(VSMC) and the potential mechanism.Methods Using Boyden chamber, immunofluorescence and Western blot,the migratory effects,F-actin content and Akt/Akt1 expression were deter- mined in VSMC after stimulation by FIZZ1.Results FIZZ1 markedly increases the migratory ratio,F-actin con- tent and the Akt1 expression of VSMC.Ly294002,a PI3K inhibitor,attenuated migratory ratio,F-actin content and the Akt1 expression of VSMC promoted by FIZZ1 in a dose-dependent manner (10-30 ?mol/L).Conclusion Our data demonstrated FIZZ1 by activating PI3K/Akt1 pathway induced the expression of F-actin of VSMC,and promoted the migration of VSMC.

OBJECTIVETo compare the changes of digestive and absorptive functions in three different models of Pi-deficiency syndrome (PDS).

METHODSExperimental mice were divided into four groups, the control group(CG), the rhubarb group (RG), the exhaustion group (EG) and the over-exertion group(OG). Criteria including general physical signs, D-xylose excretion rate, serum amylase activity, velocity of stomach emptying and enterokinesia, serum gastrin content and indexes of organs were determined before and after treatment.

RESULTSDecrease of D-xylose excretion rate and increase of stomach emptying and enterokinesia velocity appeared in all the three PDS models. As compared with CG, changes of all indices in OG were significant, while the decreasing of spleen index and serum amylase activity in EG, and the changes of serum gastrin content and thymus index in RG were insignificantly different.

CONCLUSIONAll the changes in various criteria showed that PDS mice model established by over-exertion was superior to that established by frequently used methods as purging with rhubarb and exhausting by swimming.

BACKGROUND: The ideal biomaterial means absence of cytotoxic effect and immunological rejection, degradation at right moment, and a well histocompatibility. Whether bio-derived bone can be used in vivo for long time and exerts functions deserves to be studied.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the local histocompatibility after bio-derived bone implanted into mouse and the effect on immunofunctions.DESIGN: A randomized controlled animal experiment. SETTING: Key Laboratory of Pathobiology, Ministry of Education, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Jilin University. MATERIALS: This study was performed at the Key Laboratory of Pathobiology, Ministry of Science, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Jilin University from March to July in 2006. Eighteen BALB/C mice (weighing 20±2 g, half male and half female), one male Kunming mouse (weighing 20 g), and one female rabbit (weighing 2.5 kg) were included in the experiment. All the experimental animals were provided by Laboratory Animal Center, School of Basic Medical Science, Jilin University. The disposal of the experimental animals in the test process accorded with ethical guidelines for the use and care of animals. Porcine cancellous bone (iliac bone) was purchased from the market. Iscove's Modified Dulbecco's Medium (IMDM, Hycolone, USA), fetal bovine serum (FBS, Gibco Co., Ltd, USA), methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium (MTT, Sigma, USA), and concanavalin A (ConA, Sigma Co., Ltd, USA) were used.METHODS: Bio-derived bone was prepared from commercial porcine bone. ① Eighteen BALB/C mice were randomly divided into three groups with 6 mice in each group: a control group (simple local muscle injury without implantation), a bio-derived bone implantation group ( implanting bio-derived bone into the lower limb), and a xenogenic bone implantation group (femoral bone from Kunming mouse was implanted into the muscle of lower limb). ② Twenty-one days after operation, the implant material and surrounding tissue were obtained for gross observation and haematoxylin-eosin staining to investigate the histocompatibility of bio-derived bone. Mouse immunofunction was assessed by complement-mediated cytotoxicity test. Absorbance was determined with an automatic ELISA reader at 570 nm to assess the cytotoxicity.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ①Histocompatibility of implant surrounded tissue. ②Lymphocyte stimulation indices after induction of concanavalin A. ③ Cytotoxicity in each group after complement-dependent cytotoxicity test.RESULTS: Eighteen BALB/C mice were included in the final analysis. ①Histocompatibility of implant surrounded tissue: In the bio-derived bone implantation group, 21 days after bio-derived bone implantation, there were no presentation of congestion, degeneration, necrosis and diapyesis around the implant in gross, plenty of fibrous connective tissue invaded into the pores of the bio-derived bone, encapsulation and forming the fibrous capsule. A great quantity of neutrophils and macrophages were not detected around the implant by haematoxylin-eosin staining. Bio-derived bone was encapsulated with fibrous tissue, and part of the biomaterial began to degrade, and being replaced with fibrous tissue. Regarding xenogenic bone implantation group, necrotic tissue was detected in the cross-section of the muscle in gross. A lot of neutrophils, macrophages and necrotic tissue were detected around the implant by haematoxylin-eosin staining. ②Lymphocyte stimulation indices: The stimulation index of xenogenic bone implantation group was significantly larger than that of control group (P ＜ 0.05). There was no statistical difference between the bio-derived bone group and the control group (P ＞ 0.05). ③Cytotoxicity: The cytotoxicity of xenogenic bone implantaion group was significantly larger than that of control group (P ＜ 0.05). There was no significant difference in cytotoxicity between the bio-derived bone implantation group and the control group (P ＞ 0.05).CONCLUSION: The obtained bio-derived bone causes little immunoreactions, has no obvious cytotoxicity or inflammatory reactions, and possesses a good histocompatibility and bio-safety.

Objective To determine the effects of β-estradiol on vasoconstriction in human umbilical artery and vein and its potential mechanisms.Methods Human umbilical cord samples were obtained from 96 term neonates of healthy singleton pregnant women born in the First Hospital of Soochow University between December 2013 and June 2015 (multiple pregnancy,pregnancy complications,cesarean delivery and low birth weight were excluded).Human umbilical arteries and veins were isolated and suspended in 37 2 organ baths containing 5 ml Krebs solution and exposed to β-estradiol followed by phenylephrine (PE) for vasoconstriction test.The subjects were divided into β-estradiol group and control group according to the presence or absence of β-estradiol incubation.To determine the effects and the possible underlying mechanisms of β-estradiol on PE-induced vasoconstriction,human umbilical artery and vein rings were pretreated with N ω-nitro-L-arginine (L-NMMA,nitric oxide synthesis inhibitor),fulvestrant (ICI182780,estradiol receptor antagonist),indomethacin (prostaglandin synthesis blocker),and removal of endothelium,then incubated with β-estradiol for 60 min followed by PE,and the concentration-response curves to PE were recorded.The concentrationresponse curves to phorbol 12,13-dibutyrate (PDBU,protein kinase C agonist) in Krebs solution in the presence or absence of β-estradiol were also obtained.Nonlinear regression and fitting curve were performed,and the two-sample ANOVA was used for analysis.Results (1) β-estradiol suppressed PE-induced vasoconstriction of human umbilical vein and artery.In human umbilical vein and artery of the control group,the maximum contraction intensity induced by PE was (59.17± 5.98)％ and (43.35± 5.02)％ of that induced by potassium chloride,respectively.The maximum contraction induced by PE in β-estradiol group was (5.87± 1.32)％and (4.52±1.22)％ of that induced by potassium chloride.(2) In both groups,incubation with L-NMMA or endothelium removal enhanced the vasoconstriction of human umbilical artery and vein,indicating that the inhibitory effect of β-estradiol was not influenced by the endothelium.(3) The suppression of β-estradiol on PE-induced vasoconstriction in human umbilical artery and vein was not significantly decreased by estrogen receptor antagonist.(4) β-estradiol did not affect human umbilical artery and vein vasoconstriction induced by PDBU.(5) In the control group,incubation with indomethacin did not affect human umbilical artery and vein vasoconstriction induced by PE.In the β-estradiol group,indomethacin significantly enhanced the contraction response induced by PE,suggesting that prostacycline synthesis was partly involved in β-estradiol-suppressed contractility in human umbilical artery and vein.The contractile response induced by phenylephrine was still lower in the β-estradiol group than in the control group,which was induced by indomethacin.Conclusions (1) β-estradiol can suppress vasoconstriction in human umbilical artery and vein,which is not dependent on endothelium and estrogen receptors,or protein kinase C activity,(2) Prostacycline synthesis is partly involved in β-estradiol-suppressed vasoconstriction in human umbilical artery and vein.

Objective To evaluate prourodynamic study and somatosensory evoked potentials(SEPs)before and after operation of children with lipomyelomeningocele(LMMC)and its clinical significance.Methods Urodynamic study(UDS)and SEPs in 31 cases of LMMC who underwent microsurgical release within 1 week preoperatively and 3 months postoperatively were conducted.The 4 parameters used for UDS evaluation were bladder volume,compliance,detrusor activity and residual urine;parameters used for SEPs evaluation were latent period and amplitude.Results There was a statistics significant difference between operation and control group;the similar result was attented in the comparison of before and after operation,also in the comprison of the improved group and the group without improvement after operation.Conclusions UDS and SEPs investigation can provide guidance for the treatment of tethered cord syndrome(TCS)and evaluate clinical prognosis.These cases with the severity changing in UDS and somatosensory shall be avoided unnecessary action in operation.

CONCLUSION2,3,4,9-tetrahydro-1H-pyrido-(3,4-b)indole-3-carboxylic acid was isolated from the Cichorium genus for the first time, azelaic acid and daucosterol were isolated from the the plant for the first time.

Abstract: Objective To understand the mental health literacy level of residents in Hainan Province, and to provide evidence for promoting mental health promotion and improving the mental health literacy level of residents. Methods Multi-stage random sampling method was used to investigate The National Mental Health Literacy Questionnaire among 6 895 residents in 12 districts including Changjiang, Chengmai, Dongfang, Ledong, Lingshui, Haikou Longhua District, Haikou Meilan District, Qionghai, Sanya, Tunchang, Wenchang and Wuzhishan. Results　In the survey 6 895 residents in 12 counties, cities, districts of Hainan Province, 365 of them reached the standard of mental health with the standard rate of 5.3%. The mental health knowledge score was (54.00±17.02) with the standard rate of 7.7%; the self-assessment score was (26.11±3.99) with the standard rate of 75.9%; the score of mental health skill was (26.22±7.25) with the standard rate of 44.8%. The mental health literacy level of medical workers was the highest, with the standard rate of 13.5% (112/830), and the mental health literacy level of farmers was the lowest, with the standard rate of 0.8% (13/1 647). The results of unconditional Logistic regression showed that the factors entering the regression model included educational background (OR=2.268), personal monthly income (OR=1.129), gender (OR=1.302), household registration (OR=0.776), and whether they had participated in mental health related courses OR training (OR=0.511). The higher the educational background and personal monthly income, the higher the psychological quality. The mental health of women was higher than that of men, and that of urban was higher than that of rural, and those who had participated in mental health related courses were higher than those who had not. Conclusions The mental health literacy level of Hainan residents is at a low level, and the influencing factors are multifaceted. It is suggested to strengthen the mental health monitoring comprehensively and carry out rich health education service mode for different groups.

This study aims at trying to establish a novel method of sterility test for injections based on biothermodynamics, in order to overcome the deficiencies of routine sterility tests such as long detecting cycle, low sensitivity and prone to misjudgments. A biothermodynamics method was adopted to rapidly detect the microorganism contamination of injections by monitoring the heat metabolism during the growth of microbe. The growth rate equal to or greater than zero and the heat power difference of P(i) and P(0) with three folds higher than the noise of baseline were chosen as indexes to study the heat change rule of microbe. In this way, the effectiveness of the new method to detect strains required by conventional sterility test or in injection samples was also investigated. Results showed that the Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and fungi demanded by sterility testing methodology could be detected by biothermodynamics method within 10 hours, with the sensitivity lower than 100 CFU x mL(-1). Meanwhile, this method was successfully applied to the sterility test of Compound Yinchen injection (FFYC), Shuanghuanglian powder injection (SHL) and Compound Triamcinolone injection (TAND) which were sterilized with different degrees. Therefore, the biothermodynamics method, with advantages of fast detection and high sensitivity, could be a complementary solution for conventional sterility tests.

Objective To investigate whether simple visual assessment of FVERVOT(the right ventricular outflow tract Doppler flow velocity envelop) graphs aids in hemodynamic differentiation. Method The hemodynamics, echocardiography, and clinical data of 88 patients with pulmonary hypertension (PH) were reviewed. The FVERVOTgraphs were categorized into normal pattern (no notch; NN), late systolic notch pattern (LSN) or mid-systolic notch pattern (MSN). Results The pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) was highest in the MSN pattern (9.2±3.5 WU; P＜0. 001), in comparison with LSN (5,7 ±3. 1 WU) and NN (3.3±2.4 WU) patterns. The ratio of stroke volume to pulse pressure (compliance) also varied with different patterns of FVERVOr graph (MSN = 1.2 ± 0. 5; LSN = 1.7 ± 0.8; NN = 2.6 ± 1. 7, P = 0.001 and 0.04 respectively compared with NN). The specificity and sensitivity of MSN were 96% and 71%, respectively in case of a PVR ＞ 5 WU (PPV 98%). In the patients with PH, any notching pattern of FVERVOT graph was highly associated with PVR ＞ 3 WU (OR = 22.3, 95 % CI: 5.2 ～ 96.4), whereas the NN pattern predicted a PVR ≤3 WU and pulmonary artery wedge pressure (PAWP) ＞ 15 mmHg (OR =30.2, 95%CI: 6.3 ～ 144.9). Conclusions Visual inspection of the shape of the FVERVOT graphs provides insight into the hemodynamic status of patients with PH.
