BACKGROUND:Mesenchymal stem cel s have an immunoregulatory capacity to suppress the airway inflammation of asthmatic mice, but the mechanism remains unclear. Our preliminary studies indicated that mesenchymal stem cel s can upregulate the CD4+CD25+regulatory T cel s (Treg) of the asthmatic mice. OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of mesenchymal stem cel s on the airway inflammation in asthmatic BALB/c mice depleted of CD4+CD25+Treg. METHODS:Forty BALB/c mice were randomly divided into five groups:normal control group (group A), asthmatic group (group B), asthmatic group depleted of CD4+CD25+Treg (group C), mesenchymal stem cel s group (group D), and asthmatic group depleted of CD4+CD25+Treg and administrated with mesenchymal stem cel s (group E). Except group A, mice in the other groups were sensitized and chal enged by ovalbumin to establish asthma models. In group C and group E, each mouse was treated with anti-CD25+monoclonal antibody to deplete CD4+CD25+Treg. In group D and group E, mice were intravenously administered with 0.2 mL mesenchymal stem cel s 1×109/L) at 10 days after sensitization. At 24 hours after the final activation, the number of CD4+CD25+Treg in the peripheral blood was detected by flow cytometry. The total cel number of inflammatory cel s in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, and the number of eosinophils, lymphocytes and neutrophils were counted to analyze the degree of inflammation of the airway together with pathological observation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:(1) The proportion of CD4+CD25+Treg in peripheral lymphocytes was ranged as fol ows:group B

ObjectiveIn order to ensure the food safety of cultured aquatic products in China, strengthen the supervision and improve detection efficiency, a high-throughput screening method for drug residues in aquatic products by mass spectrometry is to be developed. MethodsLiquid chromatography-electrostatic field track well high resolution mass spectrometry and C18 column were used to separate and collect the information of ion fragments and retention time of 195 veterinary drug standards in positive ion mode, and drug residues in aquatic products were extracted by organic solvents. ResultsThe mass spectrum database and detection methods of 195 veterinary drug standards were established, and a pre-treatment method was developed for extracting veterinary drug residues from aquatic products by acetonitrile and ethyl acetate. The detection method was sensitive, accurate, simple and rapid, and the adding standard recovery of more than 80% compounds reached 70%‒110%. ConclusionThe establishment of this method can quickly and massively screen drug residues in aquatic products, provide technical support for food safety risk monitoring and supervision, cope with the increasing demand for aquatic products and aquaculture volume year by year, and provide a theoretical basis for the subsequent development of mass spectrometry high-throughput detection methods.

Objective :
To clarify the distribution of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) pattern and its associated risk factors after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and evaluate the reporting quality of existing studies to guide future research standardization.
Methods:
English databases including PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science, as well as Chinese databases including China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), China Scientific Journal Database (VIP), and Wanfang Database were searched to retrieve papers about PCI. The time span for the paper retrieval was set from the foundation of the databases to October 1, 2023. Statistical analyses were performed using Stata 12 and Python (V 3.9). The Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) statement was used to assess the reporting quality of included studies.
Result:
Overall, 1 356 articles were selected, and 40 cross-sectional studies were included with 10 270 participants. The most common TCM patterns before, one to two weeks after, and six months to one year after PCI was Qi stagnation and blood stasis (n = 261, 36.45%), intertwined phlegm and blood stasis (n = 109, 27.18%), and Qi deficiency and blood stasis (n = 645, 37.03%), respectively. Smoking [odds ratio (OR) = 1.15, 95% confidence interval (CI) (0.83 – 1.47), I 2 = 24.7%, P = 0.257], pattern of congealing cold and Qi stagnation [OR = 4.62, 95% CI (1.37 – 7.86), I 2 = 61.6%, P = 0.074], and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) [OR = 1.38, 95% CI (0.92 – 1.85), I 2 = 12.2%, P = 0.286] were risk factors for restenosis. Hypertension [OR = 7.26, 95% CI (3.54 – 14.88), I 2 = 91.6%, P = 0.001], and overweight [i.e., body mass index (BMI) > 23] [OR = 1.20, 95% CI (1.07 – 1.35), I 2 = 85.3%, P = 0.009] were significant risk factors of concomitant anxiety.
Conclusion
This systematic review andet a-analysis revealed that patients with different TCM pattern types have distinct characteristics and risk factors after PCI. More high-qualitystudies are warranted to provide supportive evidence for future research and clinical practice.

ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of Tongdu Huoxue decoction in the treatment of acute lumbar disc herniation (LDH). MethodA total of 316 patients with acute LDH admitted to the orthopedic outpatient department of Hubei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Honghu City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2020 to June 2023 were randomly divided into two groups. 156 cases in the control group (two cases with stopped follow-up) were treated with meloxicam tablets, while 153 cases in the observation group (five cases with stopped follow-up) were treated with Tongdu Huoxue decoction. Both groups were treated for three months. The clinical efficacy, McGill Pain Score Scale (SF-MPQ), Oswestry Dysfunction Index (ODI) score, and the Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) scores of the two groups before and after treatment were compared. The serum levels of interleukin-1β (IL-1β), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) of the patients before and after treatment were determined by using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The NDI-092 type electromyography-evoked potential instrument was adopted to measure the motor conduction velocity and clinical efficacy of the tibial and common peroneal nerves in patients of the two groups before and after treatment, and the clinical safety of the two groups of patients was compared. ResultAfter treatment, the total effective rate in the observation group was 95.4% (146/153), significantly higher than that in the control group of 76.3% (119/156) (χ2 =23.18, P<0.05). After treatment, both groups showed significant reductions in SF-MPQ and ODI scores, as well as the levels of IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α (P<0.05), with the observation group showing a more significant reduction (P<0.05). Both groups showed a significant increase in JOA scores and motor conduction velocities of the tibial and common peroneal nerves after treatment (P<0.05), with the observation group showing a more significant increase (P<0.05). ConclusionTongdu Huoxue decoction can alleviate lumbar and leg pain in acute LDH, improve lumbar spine function, and suppress inflammatory reactions. It is highly safe and is worthy of clinical promotion.
