Objective To study the effects of thymus transplantation(TT)combined with CD4--DLI on T cell reconstitution after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation(allo-HSCT). Methods BALB/c mice were randomly divided into three groups:hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT group),hematopoietic stem cell transplantation combined with thymus transplantation(TT group)and hematopoietic stem cell transplanta-tion combined with thymus transplantation plus CD4+ T cell-depleted lymphocyte infusion(CD4--DLI group). On day-1,the mice were treated with the lethal dose of radiotherapy. On day 0,C57BL/6 mice were used as donor for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The mice were sacrificed on 5 days,2 weeks,4 weeks and 3 months after transplantation, respectively. The peripheral blood and spleen cells of mice were collected for determinations of T cell surface antigen,T cell receptor, naive T cells and intracellular cytokines. HE staining was used to assess the development of donor thymus. Results TT and CD4--DLI did not impair each other′s effects on T cell reconstitu-tion. TT combined with CD4--DLI increased the number of T cell reconstruction. CD4--DLI promoted the effect of TT on enlargement naive CD4+and CD8+T cell pool. Combination of TT and CD4--DLI enhanced the cytokine pro-duction of T cells. Conclusion TT combined with CD4--DLI had no side effects on TCR repertoire and thymus. Conclusion TT combined with CD4--DLI can enhance the reconstitution of T cell number and function via thymus dependent and thymus independent mechanism.

OBJECTIVETo assess the association of 8 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) from chromosomes X and 20 with androgenetic alopecia among ethnic Han population from Yunnan province.
METHODSAn eight-SNP co-amplification protocol was developed for the genotyping with a SNaPshot platform. A case-control study was carried out for the 8 SNPs from chromosomes X and 20 in 115 androgenetic alopecia cases and 125 healthy controls. Statistical analysis was conducted with SPSS17.0, Haploview4.2, SHEsis and MDR software.
RESULTSNo association was found between the two groups with regard to the 4 SNPs located on the X chromosome. The genotypic frequencies of rs2180439, rs913063 and rs1160312 were significantly different between the two groups (P < 0.05). The frequency of T allele of rs2180439 was significantly higher in the case group (P < 0.05). The frequencies of A alleles of rs913063 and rs1160312 were significantly higher in the case group (P < 0.05). The haplotypes of C-T-C-G, T-C-C-G and T-T-A-A based on rs6137444-rs2180439-rs913063-rs1160312 showed significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). rs6137444, rs21804393 and rs1160312 have a strong association with androgenetic alopecia.
CONCLUSIONThe 4 SNPs located on chromosome X were all monomorphic among ethnic Hans from Yunnan. The rs6152, rs16990427, rs1352015, rs1385699 SNPs located on chromosome 20 are associated with androgenetic alopecia in the same population. Individuals with T allele of rs2180439 and A allele of rs913063 and rs1160312 are more likely to develop androgenetic alopecia.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationships between erythrocyte membrane n-6:n-3 PUFAs ratio and blood lipids and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP).
METHODSThe observational study consisted of a population-based cross-sectional study of 456 Chinese and a subsequent 1-year follow-up study of 171 subjects with the fasting plasma total cholesterol of 5.13-8.00 mmol/L.
RESULTSIn the cross-sectional analysis, plasma low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) had a significant and negative association with the erythrocyte membrane n-6:n-3 PUFAs ratio (P for trend=0.019) after adjusting for sex, age and total PUFA percentage. In the follow-up study, 171 subjects were categorized into quartiles by the changes of n-6:n-3 ratio in erythrocyte membrane (Δ=month 12-month 0). In the top quartile whose ratios of n-6:n-3 increased by an average of 1.25 during the follow-up, the LDL-c-lowering extent was 3.3 times of that in the lowest quartile whose ratios of n-6:n-3 decreased by an average of 1.13 (-1.07 mmol/L v.s. -0.32 mmol/L). The hsCRP decreased by 0.11 mg/dL in the lowest quartile while increasing by 0.10 mg/dL in the top quartile (P for difference=0.052).
CONCLUSIONOur results suggested that the balance between n-6 and n-3 fatty acids may optimize the cardiovascular benefits from dietary PUFAs.

Objective:To investigate the quality of life in patients with early-stage extra-nodal NK/T cell lymphoma of nasal type (ENKTL) arising from the upper aerodigestive tract, who had remained progression-free survival (PFS) for over 3 months after definitive intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), and to analyze the factors related to main adverse symptoms.Methods:276 patients who received IMRT from March, 2012 to June, 2021 were included. There were 201 males and 75 females with a median age of 41.5 years (range: 13-81 years) upon diagnosis. Consistent target delineation schemes and similar dose gradients were adopted for IMRT, with a median prescribed dose of 54.6 Gy/26F. Cross-sectional investigation was performed with a modified EORTC QLQ-H&N35 questionnaire, the incidence and severity of adverse symptoms, severity of disease and their influencing factors at each time-point during their survival were statistically analyzed. Results:The median age of patients at the investigation was 46.2 years, and the median PFS after IMRT was 47.2 months (range: 3.1-115.7 months). The most common adverse symptoms included nasal symptoms (incidence rate 63.8%), dry mouth (50%), tooth diseases (47.1%), smell and taste alteration, and sexual apathy, etc. Most symptoms were mild (the average standardized score was 5.50, the full score of 100 indicating the most severe), and could be relieved remarkably over survival time, but some symptoms, such as tooth diseases and sexual apathy, were more obvious and recurred for several years. Age and anti-PD-1 immune therapy influenced the symptom scores, and tooth diseases were closely correlated with dry mouth. Conclusion:The quality of life in patients with early-stage ENKTL after definitive IMRT is high, and the most significant symptoms include nasal symptoms, tooth diseases, and sexual apathy, etc. , which need to be mitigated with more studies.
