OBJECTIVE To evaluate the availability and safety of a new carbapenem meropenem.METHODS The randomized study was conducted in 60 patients with respiratory tract infections. They were divided into two groups:meropenem or imipenem/cilastatin.RESULTS The cure rate, effective rate and bacterial clearance rate for meropenem were 80.0%,93.3%,92.3%,respectively and for those of imipenem/cilastatin were 76.7%,90.0% and 91.3%,respectively.The rate of adverse reactions for both meropenem/cilastatin was 3.3%.CONCLUSION Meropenem appeared to be a highly effective and safe agent in treatment of respiratory tract infections. Its efficacy and safety are similar to that of imipenem/cilastatin.

China Medical Equipment 2014;(6):79-83
The high mortality of paraquat (PQ) poisonings is mainly due to the lack of effective treatments. The optimal method of extracorporeal removal of paraquat is often a matter of debate. Due to the lack of well-designed studies, we are often left with circumstantial evidence, and we must exercise our best clinical judgment as to whether extracorporeal paraquat removal is beneficial and if so, by what method. It is clear, however, that rapidity in paraquat removal is beneficial. Due to the urgent nature of treatment for paraquat poisoning, there may never be well-designed evidence-based studies to help guide us. In the meantime, we must continue to use less than ideal evidence and our own experience to guide our decision-making process. Most toxicologists recommend rapid initiation of charcoal haemoperfusion (CHP) to lower plasma PQ levels and to limit pulmonary and other organs uptake of PQ.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2001;0(09):-
The use of genetic approaches to probe relative genes that control sensitivity to volatile anesthetics in intact model has recently emerged as the powerful tools and strategies in dissecting mechanisms of anesthesia. Multiple model organisms such as yeast, nematodes, fruitflies and mammals are currently being exploited, and a number of sensitive genes have been screened, with some of them being cloned, located, and function identified. The emerging technologies are likely to provide further great advances for elucidating the specific anesthetic molecular sites.

Academic Journal of Second Military Medical University 2001;0(09):-
G1.(3)Among 5 groups, the highest incidences of nausea, vomiting and pruritis were observed in group G1 for about 24% 32%,but with no statistical difference compared with other groups. Conclusion: With equal doses of bupivacaine and fentanyl mixed, the concentration/volume ratios may affect the analgesic effects of postoperative epidural analgesia in patients with hepatectomy.

Objective To study percutaneous absorption kinetics and synergistic penetration enhancement of tetrahydropalmatine, aconitine and ginsenoside Rg1.Methods The in vitro intact and stripped skin permeation experiments were carried out by using Permcell KH-5P horizontal proliferation system. The percutaneous kinetic parameters of tetrahydropalmatine, aconitine and ginsenoside Rg1 were determined by HPLC,and the transdermal behaviors of the three active ingredients and interactions of combination were investigated.Result The cumulative amounts in 24 h of intact skin of tetrahydropalmatine, aconitine and ginsenoside Rg1 were 123.95,50.32,96.25(?10-10 cm2/s).The cumulative amounts in 24 h of stripped skin of them were 539.00,93.60,354.70(?10-10 cm2/s).The LogP were 1.66,0.66 and 0.57 respectively. Each component had cumulated amount permeated of improvement by 64%~293% in coexistence system of three active ingredients. Conclusion The combination of three active ingredients results in a synergistic enhancement effect on percutaneous absorption of every active ingredient, and it is shown that the maximal enhancement effect appears between aconitine and ginsenoside Rg1.

Objective To investigate the role of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) in the treatment of patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). Methods Thirty eight patients with MODS routinely treated with antibiotics and nutrition support were divided into two groups: the rhGH group and control group. The rhGH group was treated by subcutaneous injection of 5 U rhGH for two weeks. Results On the 7th day of treatment, the score of APACHE Ⅱ in the rhGH group was much higher than the control group, the levels of ALT, AST, BUN and Cre did not change much compared with the control group. The level of albumin in the rhGH group increased ( P

ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical effects of surgery using scar flap in situ combined with radiotherapy in 24 hours in the restorative treatment of keloids on the auricula and the preventive effects of the therapy in the recurrence of the keloids.MethodsThe scar flap in situ was designed, its size was large enough for covering the wound of the keloid on the auricula. The keloids along the designed lines were excised using local anesthesia, the flap was clipped into the one with even thickness and suitable size which covered the wound tensionlessly to ensure that the scar flap in situ survived well, and then the wound was bandaged with pressure and drained when necessary.18-24 hours after the surgery the wound was perpendicularly irradiated by the 5 MeV high energy electron beam (beta particle) of the Siemens Primus linear accelerator. After the dressing change was performed and the drain was removed; the wound was exposed to the irradiation,3-4 Gy segmentation dose per time, and the wound was then bandaged with pressure. The radiation was performed every two days and four times altogether with a total irradiation dose of 12-16 Gy.Stitches were removed 8-10 days after the surgery.ResultsThere were no avascular necrosis in the 25 scar flaps in situ and the wounds were all primary healing with normal color and fine appearance. All the patients were satisfied with the surgery. There was no recurrence of the 23 patients during the 8 to 42 months' follow-up,but there was a tendency to recur in 2 patients after 4-6 months, and the recurrence was controlled after the beta methasone was locally injected for 2-4 times.ConclusionsIt is not necessary to harvest the flaps on the other sites applying the sear flap in situ in the restorative treatment of keloids on the auricula, and therefore it prevents the formation of the keloids on the donor sites.Furthermore, the surgery is simple and the appearance of the auricula is fine, and it presents satisfactory clinical effects to irradiate the wound in 24 hours after the surgery.
