Seventy-nine male healthy pilots were selected for studying the effects of flight on the nutrition and especially the endocrine system of the body. The results showed that the levels of plasma renin activity, angiotensin II, T3, cortisol andigas-trin in circulation increased obviously after the flight and the difference was very significant (P
2.Application and progress of magnetic resonance imaging in diagnosis of pediatric tumors
Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2014;(8):793-797
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), featuring as no ionizing radiation, higher soft tissue resolution and multiplanar imaging, has been widely used in the diagnosis of pediatric tumors. Conventional MRI techniques mainly provide information on morphological information of tumors but cannot display physiological and pathological changes in tumors. In recent years, with rapid development of MRI hardware and software, some functional MRI technologies have been applied in clinical practice and have become an important trend on pediatric oncology. These techniques include perfusion-weighted imaging, diffusion-weighted imaging, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, susceptibility weighted imaging. These new technologies can demonstrate the microstructural information of tumors, which will provide more helpful information for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up in pediatric tumors when combined with conventional MRI techniques.
3.Level and prognostic value of circulating CD34 + cell in patients with acute ischemic stroke
International Journal of Cerebrovascular Diseases 2009;17(5):347-350
Objective To detect the alteration of circulating CD34 + cell level in patients with the In'st-ever nonlacunar stroke and to investigate the prognostic value of CD34 +cell level. Methods 1he level of the circulating CD34+ cells were examined using flow eytometry in 119 patients with nonlacunar infarction. 1he patients were divided into group A (higher than average) and group B (lower than average) according to the detected values, The National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores on admission and the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) scores at 3 months after the onset in the two groups wre compared. Results The level of CD34 + cells in group A was significantly higher than that in group B (0. 048 ± 0. 001 versus 0. 032 ± 0. 002, P < 0. 05 ), however, there was no significantly difference in NIHSS sores between the two groups. One week after admission, the increased level of CD34 + cells in group A was significantly higher than that in group B (0. 001 ±0. 003 versus - 0. 005 ± 0. 000, P < 0. 05 ). Three months after the onset of symptoms, the average mRS score in group A was significantly superior to that in group B (2. 98 ± 1.14 versus 3.25 ± 1.39, P <0. 05). 1he level of circulating CD34 + cells at the initial onset of symptom was negatively correlated with the mRS score at 3 months after stroke (r = -0. 48, P <0. 05). Conclusions The higher level of circulating CD34+ cells had better prognosis in patients with cerebral infarction. The level of circulating CD34+ ceils may be used as a prognostic indicator in patients with cerebral infarction.
4.Optimization of Formula of Yanle Buccal Tablets by Pharmacodynamics Experiment
China Pharmacy 1991;0(03):-
OBJECTIVE:To optimize the formula of Yanle buccal tablets. METHODS: 8 different formula were derived from L8(2)7 orthogonal design table taking 7 Chinese medicines as factors. The main outcome measures were granuloma growth inhibition test, ear swelling inhibition test and phenol red's phlegm eliminating test in mice. RESULTS: The results showed that that Radix et Rhizoma Slycyrrhizae and Flos Lonicerae Japonicae had significant impact on mice's granuloma growth inh-ibition test Result;Radix Ophiopogonis,Rhizome,Belamcandae,Semen Oroxyli, and Flos Lonicerae Japonicae had significant impact on mice's ear swelling inhibition test result; and Radix et Rhizoma Slycyrrhizae and Radix Platycodi had great impact on phenol red's phlegm eliminating test result in mice, suggesting that every Chinese medicine (factor) had effect on certain pharmacodynamic action. CONCLUSION: The original formula is the reasonable and optimum one.
5.ONTOGENETIC STUDIES OF GASTRIN CELLS AND SOMATOSTATIN CELLS IN THE HUMAN FETAL GASTROINTESTINAL TRACT
Acta Anatomica Sinica 1955;0(03):-
Ontogenesis of gastrin cells (G cells) and somatostatin cells (D cells) in the gastrointestinal tract was studied by PAP and indirect immunofluorescence method in sixty human fetuses aged 8-38 weeks of gestation. The appearance of D cells and G cells was observed as early as 8-9 weeks of gestation. These cells were not seen in the submucosa and the tunica muscularis except the epithelium of gut. After 12 weeks of gestation, D cells can be found in the mucosa of the whole gut, whereas G cells only in the mucosa of the antrum and small intestine. The distribution, number and the ratio of G cells to D cells were also examined. In addition, we have observed that G cells in the antral mucosa often possessed processes which were considered to have paracrine function. The G cells and D cells were open-type endocrine cells in the human fetal gut except the D cells in the fundic mucosa. The possible function of G cells and D cells in the development of gut was discussed. The ratio of the two cell types in adult human antrum and upper duodenum has also been compared with that of fetus.
