Objective To assess whether treatment with compound danshen tablets plus alendronate would be safe and effective in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis. Methods 180 women with postmenopausal osteoporosis were randomized to receive combination therapy and independent therapy with compound danshen tablets and alendronate for 6 months. Scores of VRS were assessed,mean serum alkaline phosphatase, serum osteocalcin, urinary creatinine, urinary hydroxyproline, urinary calcium were detected. Bone mineral density of lumbar vertebra 1 ~5 was determined by dual X - ray absorptiometry. Results Mean serum alkaline phosphatase, serum osteocalcin, and urinary creatinine, urinary hydroxyproline, urinary calcium were statistically different between the combination therapy group and the independent therapy group, and bone mineral densities increased in all therapy groups while there was higher elevated level in the combination therapy group. Conclusions The combination therapy of compound danshen tablets with alendronate has a favorable influence on women with postmenopausal osteoporosis.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the efficacy and safety of teicoplanin treatment on complicated Gram-positive urinary tract infection.METHODS The patients′ clinical manifestation,laboratory results,bacterial culture changes after intravascular administration of teicoplanin were observed.Each patient was administered teicoplanin(200 mg once a day for 10-14 days,but 400 mg in the first day).RESULTS The effective rate and the bacterial eradication rate were 90.0% and 86.7%,respectively.All patients experienced relief from clinical infective symptoms and systemic reactions.There were no abnormal laboratory findings and adverse reactions.CONCLUSIONS Teicoplanin is an effective and safe antibiotic for the treatment of patients with complicated urinary tract infection.

Objective To investigate the present situation of nursing professional environments in our hospital and provide theoretical basis for mapping out relevant countermeasures. Method A questionnaire survey was conducted among 338 nurses in our hospital by using the general information questionnaire and practice environment scale (PES). Result The dimensions of PES by their average scores in descending sequence included leadership and ability of nurse administers, doctor-nurse cooperation, foundation for high quality care nurses′participation in hospital affairs, and sufficient manpower and resources. Conclusion In order to provide good and healthy work environment for nurses, nursing administrators should provide enough nursing manpower resoures and apply excitation mechanism in their hospital.

Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of Candida parapsilosis septicemia of prematurity and provide a reference for both diagnosis and treatment.Methods The clinical data of 9 premature suffering with candida parapsilosis septicemia were retrospectively analyzed.Results All 9 cases (0.73 percent in the corresponding period) were premature infants with gestational age less than 37 weeks.The average weight of the patients was (1 621.00 ±372.22) g,among which 5 cases were of very low birth weight and 4 cases were of low birth weight.The average time of the fungi infection was (22.00 ± 7.58) d.Of the 9 cases,7 cases had been treated with broad spectrum antibiotics previously,9 cases were given nutrition intravenously,7 cases were treated with mechanical ventilation,7 cases adopted peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC) and 1 case received surgery.The symptoms included poor response,unstable serum oxygen saturation,jaundice,poor perfusion,abdominal distention,fever and no bodyweight increase.Laboratory tests results presented platelet decrease(6 cases),C-reaction protein increase (6 cases),high plasma (1-3)-β-D glucan level(9 cases) and white blood cells in the normal range(6 cases).All 9 infants recovered after receiving fluconazole and supporting treatment.Two cases failed to complete the hospital treatment but after discharge from hospital continued treatment by administering prescribed medicine,and through regular follow-up was done,the prognosis of all cases turned out to be good,and no case died.Conclusions Gestational age,birth weight,application of broad spectrum antibiotics,mechanical ventilation and peripherally inserted central catheter are common high risk factors of Candida parapsilosis septicemia in premature infants.The disease was featured with normal white blood cell,low platelet,high serum levels of C-reaction protein and (1-3)-β-D glucan.Anti-fungi therapy with fluconazole may be a good choice for it.

[ ABSTRACT] AIM:To investigate the biological characteristics of newborn rabbit tracheal chondrocytes in vitro. METHODS:Newborn rabbit tracheal chondrocytes were obtained by the method of enzyme digestion, and then cultured in monolayer in vitro.Morphological and growth observations were performed under inverted phase contrast microscope.The ultrastructures of the cells were observed under scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope.The bi-ological characteristics of secreted extracellular matrix components were detected by real-time PCR, immunocytochemistry staining and toluidine blue staining.RESULTS: Newborn rabbit tracheal chondrocytes isolated and cultured in vitro showed short triangular or irregular shapes, and adherent growth very well.The ultrastructures of the cells showed pore and abundant cytoplasm and organelles, with a lot of protein secretions in the cells.The chondrocytes expressed the mRNA of collagen I, collagen II and proteoglycans, mainly collagen II and proteoglycans.Immunocytochemistry staining showed col-lagen II and SOX9 positive, and collagen I weakly positive.Toluidine blue staining was also positive.CONCLUSION:Enzyme digestion and monolayer culture are suitable method to obtain newborn rabbit tracheal chondrocytes.These cells, secreting extracellular matrix components, are able to be selected as seed cells for tissue engineering of trachea in vitro, and used to study the therapeutic method for neonatal rabbit tracheal stenosis.

Leukoaraiosis (LA) has important clinical significance;however, the neurobiological mechanism was still unclear. In this pa-per, we reviewed literatures about the clinical symptoms, pathology and imaging of LA in order to improve the understanding of the patho-logic mechanism, recognize the reversible pathological change in the earliest stage, which can help to prevent dementia.

Objective To determine the effectiveness of systolic blood pressure gradient between the right arm and the right leg(SBPG) tests in the diagnosis of neonatal aorta anomaly(AoA).Methods The SBPG of infants suspected of having critical congenital heart diseases were collected prospectively,who were admitted to Guangdong General Hospital from January 2013 to December 2015.The results of SBPG test were compared with those of echocardiography or cardiac computed tomography (golden standard).The rates of true positive,true negative,false positive,false negative were calculated under cutoff values of 5 mmHg(1 mmHg =0.133 kPa),10 mmHg,15 mmHg and 20 mmHg,respectively.Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves was used to compare tests of different cutoff and the areas under the ROC curve were also calculated.Results Among 664 enrolled infants,67 cases were confirmed by golden standard test.The systolic blood pressure in the right arm,the legs and SBPG in AoA group and non-AoA group were (88.0±20.4) mmHgvs.(73.4±9.3) mmHg (P＜0.01),(66.1 ±10.1) mmHg vs.(69.0 ±9.7) mmHg(P＞0.05) and (22.6±17.8) mmHgvs.(2.3 ±4.8) mmHg(P ＜0.01),respectively.In these patients,31 cases(46.3％),31 cases(46.3％),27 cases(40.3％) and 21 cases(31.3％) were diagnosed of AoA,and 36 cases(53.7％),36 cases (53.7％),40 cases(59.7％),and 46 cases (68.7％) were missed by SBPG tests of 5 mmHg,10 mmHg,15 mmHg and 20 mmHg,respectively (P ＜ 0.01).The rates of true negative among those groups were 94.1％,99.5％,99.7％ and 100.0％,and the areas under ROC curve were 0.656,0.722,0.695 and 0.657,respectively (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusions Almost half of AoA infants could be screened out by SBPG test.The cutoff of 10 mmHg could probably be used to screen potential AoA infants,with higher true positive rate and lower false positive rate.

Objective To explore the impact of NaF · EDTA-K2 on blood lipids measurement in pregnant women , determine whetherthe empty-stomach plasma for OGTT could be used as substitute for serumin blood lipids analyses.Methods Fastingplasma with NaF · EDTA-K2 and serumfrom 100 pregnant women werecollected,andconcentration of CHO,TG, HDL,LDL,apoA1 and apoB were tested with Hitachi 7 600 automatic biochemical analyzer.Data were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 software.Results The concentrations oflipids and lipoproteins with NaF · EDTA-K2 were slightly lower than those of serum.There were statistical significances between the means of CHO , HDL, LDL, apoA1 and apoBof two groups ( P<0.05) except TG.Correlation coefficients of the six analyteswere CHO 0.968, TG 0.995, HDL 0.979, LDL 0.991, apoA1 0.692, apoB 0.846respectively.Standard Error of Estimate for plasma were: CHO 0.281, TG 0.094, HDL 0.077, LDL 0.112, apoA1 0.230, apoB 0.111 respectively.The modified coefficients were 1.08 for CHO, HDL and LDL, 1.14 for apoA1 and 1.07 for apoB.Conclusion NaF· EDTA-K2 negatively biased the blood lipidsmeasurement of CHO , HDL, LDL, apoA1 and apoB in pregnant women,yet lipids concentrations in plasma with NaF · EDTA-K2 were closely related to those in serum , which may be used to predict the bloodlipidslevel of pregnant women afterajusted.

Objective To investigate the effect of meridian point cosmetic therapy of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)on acne.Methods 80 cases of acne patients were selected and divided into the treatment group(50 cases)and the control group(30 cases).The treatment group was given medication by differentiation of symptoms and signs and designed a complete treatment scheme by the demonstration of health analysis curve through test by balanced cosmetic equipment and meridian point of TCM.The control group only received extravenous medication.The effect of the two groups was observed after 2 months' treatment.Results The total effeetive rate in the treatment group was 94.0%,which was superior to that of the control group(73.3%),x2=11.08,P＜0.05. Conclusion Application of meridian point cosmetic therapy of TCM could facilitated the diagnosis and treatment by differentiation of symptoms and signs and thus improve the curing rate.
