AIM: To study the development laws between isokinetic muscle strength and age increase via test flexion and extension muscle of knee joints in 216 ordinary juvenile boys aged from 9 to 20. METHODS: Kinitech isokinetic strength test was used to study the flexion and extension muscle of both sides’ knee joints at the speed of 60 (?)/s. RESULTS: The peak torque of muscles increased with the increasing ages, especially in extension muscles, which is bigger than flexion muscles (P 0.05). The ratio of flexion and extension muscles (F/E) decreased with age increasing, which a larger fluctuation during aged 9-13, especially obvious had decreased in 13-20 ages. CONCLUSION: The muscle strength and power all increases with the increasing ages, while the F/E value decrease in 9-20 boys, which demonstrates the flexion and extension muscle developed out of balance.

Objective To investigate the analgesic efficacy of ultrasound?guided adductor canal blockade (ACB)after minor arthroscopic knee surgery. Methods Sixty patients undergone minor arthroscopic knee surgery were randomly divided into group ACB(n=20)and group Control(n=20). All patients received spinal anesthesia. The patients in group ACB received ultrasound?gGuided ACB with 20 ml 0.5% ropivacaine, and patients in group Control received 20 ml saline after the surgery. In addition ,all patients have a basic analgesic regimen with etoricoxib. Visual analogue scales(VAS) during rest and passive movement ,additional analgesic dose and side effects were recorded at 4,8,12,24 h Post?operation. At 24 h post?operation, the numbers of patients who can walk for 5 meters were recorded. Results VAS during rest and movement at 4 h,8 h and 12 h post?operation in group ACB were significantly lower than those in group Control. And all patients could walk 5m at 24 h post?operation. No headache, nausea and vomiting, urinary retention and other adverse reactions were observed in group ACB. There were four patients who received additional analgesic and one patient vomitted. Conclusions Significant analgesic effect of the ACB could be detected after minor arthroscopic knee surgery ,with less reduction in requirements for supplemental opioids.

Objective:This study aims to evaluate the clinical effect and adverse reactions of oxaliplatin or irinotecan plus capecitabine treatment for colorectal liver metastases. Methods:Data from 125 cases of colorectal liver metastasis patients were continuously enrolled and randomized into two groups, i.e., 63 in group one (treatment group) and the other 62 in group two (the control group). Capecitabine was administered at 1 000 mg/m2 doses, twice a day from d1 to d14, to all patients. Irinotecan was administered at 150 mg/m2 in d1 to group one, and oxaliplatin was administered at 130 mg/m2 in d1 to group two. The drug administration cycle lasted for 21 days in both regimens, with at least 6 administration cycles. The total course was for 6 months at most. The therapeutic efficacy, median progression-free survival time, median survival time, short-term clinical effect, and adverse drug reaction were monthly determined. Results:The overall response rates and disease control rates were 33.3%and 66.7%in group one, respectively, and 35.5%and 70.9%in group two, respectively, with no significant differences between the groups (P>0.05). The median survival time and median progression-free survival time were 14 months and 5 months in group one, respectively, and 12 months and 5 months in group two, with no significant differences between the two groups (P>0.05). The level-Ⅲand-Ⅳadverse drug reactions mainly include hematological toxicity, gastrointestinal reactions, and hand-foot syndrome. The diarrhea frequency is obviously higher in group one than in group two, and the difference between the two groups is sta-tistically significant (P<0.05). No significant differences were observed in the other adverse reactions between the groups (P>0.05). Conclusion:The Oxaliplatin or Irinotecan plus Capecitabine treatment is effective for colorectal liver metastases, which enhances survival rate and reduces patient suffering because of it has less side effects and good tolerance. The treatment must be further generalized and clinically applied.
