1.Research progress of the 8p11 myeloproliferative syndrome
Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2013;22(12):758-761
The 8p11 myeloproliferative syndrome is a rare hematologic malignancy that involves the fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) gene at chromosome 8p11.The clonal change of the FGFR1 rearrangement is present in BM cells, and in the T-lymphoma cells in the LN.The hematological stem cells transplantation is the only method that can cure this rare hematologic neoplasma.
2.A dynamic observation on the levels of TNF-?、IL-6 and IFN-? produced by human dendritic cells infected with Dengue virus
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1989;0(06):-
AIM: To study the dynamic levels of tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-?), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and gamma interferon (IFN-?) produced by human dendritic cells infected with Dengue virus. METHODS: Monocytes isolated from healthy human peripheral blood were incubated in medium with GM-CSF and IL-4 for more than 7 days. DCs were then collected and identified by scanning electron microscope, immunohistochemistry and lymphocytes stimulatory ability. Human dendritic cells (DC) were infected with Dengue-2 virus (DV-2) in vitro, culture supernatants were collected in different time postinfection (6 h, 12 h, 24 h, 48 h and 72 h), DV antigen in human dendritic cells were demonstrated by an indirect immunofluorescent assay (IFA), production of TNF-?, IL-6 and IFN-? in the culture supernatants were evaluated by ELISA. RESULTS: After 7 days, typical dendritic cells could be obtained. Virus antigen were detected in infected DC by IFA. Dengue virus induces TNF-? and IL-6 secretion from DC and does not induce IFN secretion. CONCLUSION: Human dendritic cells are target of dengue virus infection. TNF-?, IL-6 production from DC are increased with DV infection. Dendritic cells may play an important role in DV pathogenicity and immunity.

Objective To investigate micrometastasis in axillary lymph nodes and its relationship with nm23 expression of the tumor tissue in breast cancer patients. Methods Paraffin blocks of 832 surgically removed lymph nodes and carcinoma tissues from 52 lymph node negative cases comfirmed by routine pathology were re examined by immunohistochemical staining using monoclonal anti EMA and anti nm23 H1 respectively. Results Micrometastasis were observed in 12 of the 52 patients (23.0%) and in 34 of the 832 lymph nodes ( 4.1% ). The positive rate of micrometastasis that in the tumor larger than 2.0cm or poorly differentiated was significantly higher than in the tumor

Objective The animal model of rheumatoid arthritis was established in Lewis rats by a single intradermal injection of pristane. Methods The degree of pathogenicity and the pathological characteristics were assayed by histiopathological techniques and joint roentgenography. Results The incidence of arthritis in rats immunized by pristane was 62.5%. Peripheral joints were mainly involved. A chronic relapsing and progressive arthritis was developed. As showed by histopathology and roentgenography, typical arthritis pathology such as synovial proliferation, articular cartilage and bone erosien were found. Conclusion Pristane induced arthritis mirrors human rheumatoid arthritis and is a very good animal model for rheumatoid arthritis.

respectively)was significantly higher than that for digital anterograde venography (0.684 and 0.587,P =0.026,respectively).Conclusion Diagnostic accuracy and detection rate of residuaI or recurrent varicose veins with CT phlebography are found to be more superior than that with digital anterograde venography which has high guidance value in preoperation and assesses the efficacy of post-surgery treatment.

Objective To study MR findings in 20 children aged from 10 months to 14 years with mitochondrial encephalomyopathy. Methods MRI evaluations were done in 20 children with mitochondrial encephalomyopathy proved by muscle biopsy and biochemical laboratory examinations. Results Brain parenchymal lesions in all cases were low signal intensity on T 1-weighted and high signal intensity on T 2-weighted images.Brain atrophy was showed in different degrees in 8 children.18 patients had involvement of gray matter,10 had only the deep gray matter involved and 4 cases had both the deep gray matter and the cerebral cortex involved simultaneously.4 patients showed deep gray matter abnormalities and cerebral infarction with involvement of cortex and subcortical white matter.2 patients had exclusively involvement of white matter, which were nonspecific white matter changes of the trigonal area. Conclusion MRI findings in mitochondrial encephalomyopathy are varied when gray matter especially deep gray matter involved, brain atrophy, untypical infarction and involvement of peripheral white matter are showed on MR,and associated with a variety of neuromuscular symptoms in children mitochondrial encephalomyopathy should be consider.

Objective We retrospectively studied the MRI and MRA appearances of 10 patients,(6 children,4 adults) with Moyamoya disease. Methods MRI and MRA images were analyzed. For the MRA images,it was concerned that whether there were occlusive changes of the internal carotid artery and middle cerebral artery and whether there were collateral vessels. For the MRI images, the locations of the infarct lesions were studied. Results For the MRA images, the internal carotid arteries and the middle cerebral arteries were observed stenosis, and collateral vessels were formed in cerebral hemispheres. There were no remarkable differences between the children and adult groups with regard to the occlusive changes or to the flow void sign on MRA.However,Moyamoya disease in children exhibited a significant increase in the cortical and subcortical infarction(75%,9/12).In contrast, there were much more deep white matter infarctions in the centrum semiovale and basal ganglia in the adult group(87.5%,7/8)than in the children group(33.3%,4/12).Conclusion MRI and MRA are the method of choice in diagnosis of Moyamoya disease. The differences in the site of infarctions between the childhood and the adult Moyamoya disease observed on MRI may explain the differences in the clinical presentation.

Objective To retrospectively evaluate the MR and CT features of delayed complications of hepatic rupture and clinical management. Methods Delayed complications developed in 8 of 20 patients with hepatic rupture 1~3 weeks after surgery.7 patients were managed with PTD and one with laparotomy.MRI and CT were followed-up before and after treatment. Results Delayed complications included 3 bilomas,3 recurrent bleedings and 2 abscess, which appeared characteristic bi-directional changes of the signal intensity on T 1-weighted image and were non-specific on T 2-weighted image(hyperintense)and CT (low-density).Conclusion T 1-weighted images appeared to be more effective than T 2-weighted images and CT in the differentiation of delayed complications from subacute intrahepatic hematoma.Followed-up MRI and CT are needed in patients with deeptype hepatic rupture in the first month after injury.PTD and laparotomy are helpful in management of biloma and abscess and nonuseful in patient with inactive recurrent bleeding.
