Objective To study the effects of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) on avascular nec-rosis of the femoral head. Methods Thirty-two rabbits were used to make the avascular necrosis of the femoral headmodel by use of freezing method. Two rabbits were chosen to check the result of the model. Thirty rabbits were ran-domly divided into 2 groups : a treatment group and a control group. Each group was observed 2, 4 and 8 weeks aftertreatment. Morphological and pathological changes of the femoral head were observed. An immunohistochemicalmethod was used to examine the distribution of vessel endothelium growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) immunoreactive-positive cells in the bone tissues. Results Morphologically, the femoral heads of treat-ment group were smoother and glossier than those of the control group. The empty lacunae ratio, the number of theosteoblast was significantly different between the treatment and the control group. The expression of VEGF and hFGFin the bone tissues of treatment group increased significantly when compared with control group. Conclusion ES-WT can promote healing of avascular necrosis of femoral head.

Basic & Clinical Medicine 2006;0(06):-
Since the emergence in 1980s,community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus Aurues (CA-MRSA) has caught great attention of the researchers and clinical practitioners all over the world. In recent scientific papers, people found that CA-MRSA's capability to adapt itself to the hostile environment and to colonize is a kind of important virulence factor. A newly unveiled gene, designated arginine catabolic mobile element (ACME),in USA300 stains contributes much to this sort of ability. The arginine deiminase encoded by ACME plays an important role in colonization.

OBJECTIVE:To observe therapeutic efficacy and safety of low-molecular-weight-heparin-sodium combined with dy-drogesterone in the treatment of threatened abortion. METHODS:Medical information of 72 patients with threatened abortion were analyzed retrospectively and divided into control group(36 cases)and observation group(36 cases). Control group was given Dy-drogesterone tablet with initial dose of 40 mg,one day later every 12 h 10 mg/time. Observation group was additionally given ab-dominal subcutaneous injection of Low-molecular-weight-heparin-sodium injection 5000 U,once a day,on the basis of control group. Both groups were treated for a week. Clinical efficacies of 2 groups were observed, and lumbar acid, vaginal bleeding,ab-dominal pain time, total treatment time, neonatal birth weight were also observed. The levels of hs-CRP,fibrinogen,D-dimer and platelet, the occurrence of ADR were observed before and after treatment. RESULTS:The total response rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group(91.7%vs. 80.6%),the backache, vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain time and to-tal treatment time of observation group were significantly shorter than those of control group, the neonatal birth weight and gesta-tional age of observation group were significantly more than those of control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no statistical significance in the levels of hs-CRP,fibrinogen,D-dimer and platelet between 2 group(P>0.05);after treatment, the levels of hs-CRP,fibrinogen,D-dimer and platelet in 2 groups were significantly lower than before, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR between 2 groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSIONS:Based on routine treatment,low-molecu-lar-weight-heparin-sodium combined with dydrogesterone shows good therapeutic efficacy and safety for threatened abortion.

A sensitive method was developed for the determination of pacific ciguatoxin (P-CTX1) residue in fishes by high performance liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray tandem mass spectrometry ( HPLC-MS/MS). Homogenized samples of fish was extracted with acetone, degreased by freezing under -20℃ and filtered with filter paper. Then the supernatant was cleaned up with PSA column. Identification was achieved by electrospray ionization (ESI) in positive mode using multiple reaction monitoring. The calibration curve of P-CTX1 showed good linearity in the range of 0.5 -20μg/L with correlation coefficient of 0.9998. The limit of quantitation (LOQ) was 0. 1 mg/L( S/N = 10). The recoveries of P-CTX1 were between 82. 3% and 87. 2% (n =7) at spiked levels of 1.0 -20.0 ng/kg. The relative standard derivations( RSD) of the method were less than 7.8%.

Objective To evaluate the effects of Taoist cognitive psychotherapy on depression of aged patients with cerebral stroke hemiplegia convalescence. Methods Seventy-seven hemiplegia convalescence patients with depression were divided into general treatment group (38 patients, received general back-up psychology therapy) and combined treatment group (39 patients, received general back-up psychology therapy and Taoist cognitive psychotherapy) by random digits table. All patients were treated for 8 weeks and followed up for 6 months. Two groups were evaluated with HAMD and SS-QOL before treatment and at the end of the 2 weeks,4 weeks, 8 weeks and 6 months after treatment. The results were analyzed with statistics. Results In general treatment group, the HAMD scores were gradually decreased, and the HAMD scores of patients after 8 weeks' treatment were significantly lower than those before treatment[(22.35 ± 4.69)scores vs. (29.62 ± 5.95 ) scores,t = 6.425 ,P < 0.01]. At the end of 6 months after treatment, the scores increased [(24.48 ± 4.12 ) scores vs. (22.35 ± 4.69 ) scores, t = 2.014, P < 0.05], but they were lower than those before treatment(t = 4.836, P < 0.01 ). At the end of 6 months after treatment, the SS-QOL scores were lower than those after 8 weeks' treatment (t =2.543,P <0.05),but they were higher than those before treatment (t = 2.790,P < 0.05 ). In combined treatment group, the HAMD scores decreased continuously, and the scores after 8 weeks' treatment [(20.08 ± 4.60) scores] and 6 months' treatment [( 15.21 ± 3.42)scores] were significantly lower than those before treatment [( 30.14 ± 4.92 ) scores] (t = 8.341,15.443, P <0.01). Meanwhile, the HAMD scores after 6 months'treatment were significantly Iower than those after 8 weeks' treatment (t =4.724,P < 0.01 ). The SS-QOL scores after 8 weeks' treatment [( 117.56 ± 26.22)scores] and 6 months' treatment [(126.57 ±21.82) scores] were significantly higher than those before treatment[(86.54 ± 23.90) scores] (t = 6.716,8.916,P < 0.01 ) ,and there was significantly difference(t=2.378,P < 0.05). The HAMD scores of combined treatment group after 8 weeks' and 6 months' treatment were significantly lower than those of general treatment group at the same time(t = 2.118, P < 0.05 ;t = 8.405,P< 0.01 ) ,and SS-QOL scores were significantly higher than those of general treatment group at the same time (t = 3.123,P < 0.05 ;t = 6.580,P < 0.01 ). Conclusions General back-up psychology therapy combined with Taoist cognitive psychotherapy can improve depression and life quality of cerebral stroke hemiplegia convalescence in aged patients. The effects of Taoist cognitive psychotherapy is slower, but it is more beneficial in the long time.

Object To study the effect of puerarin on the expression of inflammatory factors and miR-155-3p in human umbilical vein endothelial cells ( HUVEC) induced by visfatin. Methods The HUVEC cell injury model was es-tablished with visfatin.Cell proliferation was measured by MTT assay.Cell apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry. The level of CRP and NF-κB was detected by ELISA, and the expression of miR-155-3p was detected by RT-PCR.The expres-sion of myeloid differentiation factor 88 ( MyD88) was identified by western blotting. Results Visfatin induced cell prolif-eration and inhibited apoptosis in HUVEC, meanwhile the expressions of both CRP and NF-κB were significantly increased, compared with that of the control group (P<0.01).Puerarin at moderate and high concentrations obviously reduced the HUVEC injury induced by visfatin, mainly through down-regulating the expression of CRP and NF-κB, as well as up-regu-lating the level of miR-155-3p in the HUVEC.MiR-155-3p mimic markedly decreased the level of MyD88, CRP and NF-κB in the HUVEC induced by visfatin (P<0.05).Conclusions Pueprarin obviously alleviates HUVEC injury induced by visfatin, probably related to down-regulating the level of MyD88, CRP, NF-κB, and up-regulating the expression of miR-155-3p in HUVEC.
