Death education that began in the western countries,starting with the rise of thanatolography,is the important content of modern education which can not be ignored.This paper summarized the definition,content,subjects and course of death education by reviewing the literatures,aiming to provide some reference for the death education at present in our country.

Objective To study the effects of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) on avascular nec-rosis of the femoral head. Methods Thirty-two rabbits were used to make the avascular necrosis of the femoral headmodel by use of freezing method. Two rabbits were chosen to check the result of the model. Thirty rabbits were ran-domly divided into 2 groups : a treatment group and a control group. Each group was observed 2, 4 and 8 weeks aftertreatment. Morphological and pathological changes of the femoral head were observed. An immunohistochemicalmethod was used to examine the distribution of vessel endothelium growth factor (VEGF) and fibroblast growth factor(bFGF) immunoreactive-positive cells in the bone tissues. Results Morphologically, the femoral heads of treat-ment group were smoother and glossier than those of the control group. The empty lacunae ratio, the number of theosteoblast was significantly different between the treatment and the control group. The expression of VEGF and hFGFin the bone tissues of treatment group increased significantly when compared with control group. Conclusion ES-WT can promote healing of avascular necrosis of femoral head.

Objective:To investigate the eye movement anormalities of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and their possible clinical significances. Methods: Exploratory eye movement in 57 patients with OCD according to DSM-IV criteria (27 medicated, 30 un-medicated) and 50 normal controls matched with sex, age and education were examined respectively. Results: Compared with normal controls, patients with OCD demonstrated low scores in most of the indices of exploratory eye movement. To evaluate the effect of bFGF on the calcium influx in SGCs and its antagonistical effect on streptomycin. The SGCs of guinea pig were isolated using an enzyme machine methods and loaded with 10?mol/L Fluo 3/AM for 30 min at 37℃,then cultured 60min at room temperature. Individual Fluo 3 loaded SGCs were examined with a confocal microscope (ACAS Ultima, USA) using a 20 x objective lens and linear scan mean.The level of SGCs[Ca 2+ ] i was steady within the process of normal extracellular liquid perfusion. SGCs[Ca 2+ ] i was increased when SGCs were perfused with 150mmol/L high potassium media(10/10) and normal media containing 1nmol/L bFGF(8/9), but the level of SGCs[Ca 2+ ] i did not change in high potassium free calcium media(9/9) and free calcium media containing 1nmol/L bFGF(10/11). After the treatment with 1 mmol/L streptomycin, the level of SGCs[Ca 2+ ] i was increased 1/11 and 5/12, respectively, when perfused high potassium media and bFGF media. And after being treated with 1nmol/L bFGF, high potassium media, SGCs[Ca 2+ ] i was increased more obviously and persisted for a longer time. After being treated with 1 mmol/L streptomycin, 0 1nmol/L, 1nmol/L and 10nmol/L bFGF, respectively, and 14/14 the level of SGCs[Ca 2+ ] i was increased 5/11, 9/12, and 14/14 when perfused high potassium media. High potassium media and bFGF perfusion could result in an increase of SGCs[Ca 2+ ] i ,and SGCs[Ca 2+ ] i increase was the result of calcium influx, and there was a synergic effect between high potassium and bFGF. Streptomycin could block the process of calcium influx induced by high potassium media, the blocking effect could be antagonized by bFGF, and the antagonistic effect was bFGF concentration dependent.

ObjectiveTo analyze the mental status of the patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).MethodsSixty IBS patients were evaluated with Self Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), Self Rating Depression Scale (SDS), Symptions Check List-90 (SCL-90) and self-edited scale.ResultsThe primary causes of mental disorder of IBS patients were the stress events and lacking knowledge for IBS; the average SAS scores of sixty IBS patients were 52.32±10.19, SDS scores were 54.90±11.70; the average scores of SAS and SDS in the groups of midlife and young people were significantly higher than that in the group of agedness ( P<0.05). The total scores of SAS and SDS were not significantly difference among the patients with different culture level and sex ( P>0.05); except the scores of crankiness and opposition, the average SCL-90 scores of the sixty IBS patients were significantly higher than the normal ( P<0.05).ConclusionIBS relates to mental status and stress, proper mental intervention can ease the symptom and improve the quality of the living.

ObjectiveTo investigate the efficacy and safety of aripiprazole in treating schizophrenia with clozaping as control.Methods70 cases with schizophrenia were randomly divided into the experimental and control group with 35 cases in each group.The effectiveness and safety were evaluated with positive and negative syndrome scale and treatment emergent symptoms scale before and at the ends of week 1,2,4,6,and 8 after starting treatment respectively.ResultsThere was no significant difference in effectiveness between two groups.However,the score reduce rates about cognitive factors and negative symptoms of the aripiprazole group was better than that of the clozaping group(P<0.05).The main side effects in aripiprazole group were mild headache,anxiety,insomnia and etc.ConclusionAripiprazole is an effective and safe neuroleptic,specifically in improving cognitive function and negative symptoms.

Objective To observe the different changes of macular microstructure in patients with large idiopathic macular hole (IMH) treated with vitrectomy combined with internal limiting membrane (ILM) transplantation or not.Methods Forty eyes in 40 consecutive patients with giant IMH (≥500 μm) were included in the study.Twenty eyes received vitrectomy with ILM transplantation (ILM transplantation group) and others with ILM peel off (ILM removal group).During the operation,a proper size of the ILM was removed and filled in the bottom of the macular hole.The age,duration of disease and the ocular laterality of the two groups of patients were not statistically significant (P＞0.05).Minimum resolution angle in logarithmic (logMAR) best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and frequency domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) scan were examined.There was no statistically significant difference in logMAR BCVA,average defect diameter of photoreceptor ellipsoid (IS/OS) and average defect diameter of external limiting membrane (ELM) between two groups (t=0.128,1.452,1.321;P＞0.05).The logMAR BCVA and SD-OCT were examined on 1,3,6,12 months postoperatively.Results On 1 month after the surgery,there was no statistically significant difference in logMAR BCVA,average defect diameter of IS/OS and average defect diameter of ELM between two groups (t=1.226,1.435,1.018;P＞0.05).On 3,6,12 months after the surgery,compared with ILM removal group,the logMAR BCVA (t=2.059,2.871,2.415) increased and the average defect diameter of IS/OS (t =2.070,2.110,2.121) and ELM (t =2.034,3.647,3.556) significantly reduced in ILM transplantation group (P＜0.05).On 1 month after the surgery,there was statistically significant difference in CRT between two groups (t=2.113,P＜0.05).On 3,6,12 months after the surgery,there was no statistically significant difference in CRT between two groups (t=0.428,0.847,0.849;P＞0.05).Conclusion Compared with vitrectomy combined with ILM peeling surgery,the diameter of IS/OS and ELM defect were significantly decreased after vitrectomy combined with ILM transplantation in the patients with large IMH.

A new method based on adherence of cellulolytic bacteria to insoluble cellulose for isolation and purification of thermophilic cellulolytic anaerobes was reported, in which Hungate anaerobic operating techniques were used to roll tubes with insoluble cellulose powder as substrate.

Mutagenesis of several male contraceptives in sperm bead anomalies was investigated. Results show that glycosides of tripterygium wilfordii hook (GTW) and its monomer T13, microwave induce sperm head anomalies. However, gossypol and monomer T4 and GTW do not induce sperm head anomalies. Adult male mice and rats were given orally GTW, monomer T4, T13 and gossypol. These chemical agents were delivered in 1% methylcellulose. Result indicated that frequency of abnormal sperm heads in GTW, T13 groups were significantly increased, while frequency of abnormal sperm heads in T4 and gossypol-treated animals were similar to that of normal controls. When male mice were exposed to microwaves of 0.5 kW for 1-2 min, for five weeks abnormal shape of spermatozoa could be found.

Objective To investigate the effect of methylprednisolone pretreatment on cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB)-induced intestinal barrier injury in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.Methods Ninety NYHA Ⅰor Ⅱ patients,aged 30-50 yr,weighing 50-75 kg,scheduled for elective cardiac surgery with CPB,were randomly divided into 3 gnoups(n =30 each):control group without CPB(group Ⅰ),control group with CPB(group Ⅱ)and administration of methylprednisolone before CPB group(group Ⅲ).Anesthesia was induced with midszolam,fentanyl,etomidate and rocuronium and maintained with intravenous infusion of propofol and intermittent iv boluses of fentanyl and rocuronium.The patients were mechanically ventilated after tracheal intubation.In group Ⅲ,methylprednisolone 10 mg/kg was injected intravenously before operation and CPB.While in groups Ⅰ and Ⅱ,the equal volume of normal saline was injected instead.The blood samples were taken from the central vein before induetion of anesthesia(T1),before CPB(T2),at 30 min after the beginning of CPB(T3),at 30 rin afier the end of CPB(T4)and at 120 min after operation(T5)for determination of the plasma endotoxin concentration.Infection was recorded within 7 days after operation.Results The plasma endotoxin concentrations at T1 were within the normal range in all groups,without significant difference among the three gnoups(P ＞0.05).The plasma endotoxin concentration at T3-5 and incidence of postoperative infection in group Ⅲ were significantly lower than those in group Ⅱ,while higher than those in group Ⅰ(P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Methylprednisolone pretreatment can reduce CPB-induced impairment of the intestinal harrier function in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
