1.Moxa salt packets at Zhongwan (CV 12) for cisplatin chemotherapy-induced gastrointestinal reac- tions: a clinical study.

OBJECTIVETo compare the efficacy between moxa salt packets at acupoints combined with tropisetron hydrochloride and single use of tropisetron hydrochloride for cisplatin chemotherapy-induced gastrointestinal reaction.
METHODSSixty patients with malignant tumor who met inclusive criteria and received chemotherapy for the first time were recruited and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 30 cases in each one. Between the first days and fifth day into the chemotherapy, the patients in the control group were treated with daily intravenous injection of tropisetron hydrochloride (5 mg), while patients in the observation group, based on the treatment of control group, were treated with moxa salt packets at Zhongwan (CV 12). The nausea and vomiting between the first days and fifth day into the chemotherapy were compared in the two groups, and the occurrence rates of adverse reactions within the first week into chemotherapy were recorded.
RESULTSBetween the second day and fifth day into the chemotherapy, the effective rate for nausea in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (all P < 0.05); between the third day and fifth day into the chemotherapy, the effective rate for vomiting in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (all P < 0.05); one week into the chemotherapy, the occurrence rate of constipation in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONThe moxa salt packets combined with tropisetron hydrochloride can effectively reduce the cisplatin chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting as well as the occurrence rate of delayed-type vomiting, and improve the constipation, which is superior to single use of tropisetron hydrochloride.

2.Clinical Observation of Polyene Phosphatidyl Choline Combined with Atorvastatin for Alcoholic Liver Disease

OBJECTIVE:To observe the therapeutic efficacy and safety of polyene phosphatidyl choline and atorvastatin in the treatment of alcoholic liver disease. 3.Effect of Baishile Capsule on Behavior and Expression of Hippocampal Synaptophysin in Chronic Stress and Depression Model Rats

This study was aimed to investigate Baishile Capsule on behavior, memory and expression of SYN I and SYNA in hippocampal CA3 region of depression model rats. SD rats were randomly divided into six groups, which were the control group, depression model group, fluoxetine hydrochloride group, and the Baishile Capsule group (2.88 g·kg-1, 1.44 g·kg-1, 0.72 g·kg-1). The chronic stress depression model rats were established by chronic and mild unpredictable stressors as described in the literature. In the model group, medicine was intragastricly administered once per day and continued for 21 days. In the control group and model group, same volume of distilled water was intragastricly administered. The open-field test, preference for 1% sucrose solution, Morris water maze, and rate of weight were carried out and observed. Immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization were used in the observation of the expression of SYN I and SYNA in each group of model rats. The results showed that high-dosage Baishile Capsule can significantly increase the horizontal and vertical activities of score after two-week treatment (P< 0.01). The middle-dosage Baishile Capsule can significantly increase the horizontal activity of score after three-week treatment (P< 0.05). The rat's preference for sucrose solution was obviously increased in the high-dosage group after one-week treatment and in the middle-dosage group after three-week treatment (P< 0.01, or P< 0.05). The rate of weight of rats was obviously increased in the high-dosage group after two-week treatment and in the middle-dosage group after three-week treatment (P< 0.01, or P< 0.05). The high-dosage and middle-dosage Baishile Capsule can shorten EL, and significantly increase the number of target quadrant. The high-dosage Baishile Capsule can obviously shorten the target quadrant latency (P< 0.05). Compared with the model group, the immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization showed high-dosage Baishile can significantly promote the expression of SYN I and SYNA in hippocampal CA3 region; and the middle-dosage group can enhance the expression of SYNA (P < 0.05, or P <0.01). It was concluded that Baishile Capsule can obviously improve the behavior and the expression of SYN I and SYNA in hippocampal CA3 region of depression model rats.

6.Anti-depressant-elTect of Xiaoyaofang on mice with behavioral despair

Objective To study the anti-depressant effect of Xiaoyaofang on mice with behavioral despair. Method The mice were given the forced swimming test and tail suspension test to observe the anti-depressant effect of Xiaoyaofang. Result The high dosage of Xi-aoyaofang significantly shortened fast time in the tail suspension test of mice(P < 0.05). And Xiaoyaofang showed the trend of shortening the needed time in the forced swimming test. Conclusion Xiaoyaofang have an anti-depressant effect on mice with behavioral despair.
7.Changes of plasma ET-1,CGRP,TXA_2 and their receptor expression in lung tissue of children with congenital heart disease-associated pulmonary artery hypertension

Objective To study the changes of plasma ET-1,CGRP,TXA2 and their receptor expression in lung tissue of children with congenital heart disease-assicated pulmonary artery hypertension.Methods Plasma was collected from 60 children patients.ET-1,CGRP and TXB2 levels were measured by EIA,RIA and ELISA,respectively.Expression of their receptors in the lung tissue was detected by RT-PCR.Results The plasma ET-1 and TXB2 levels were significantly higher in CHD patients than in control children.The plasma CGRP level was significantly lower in CHD patients than in control children.Fourteen days after treatment with PGE1,the plasma ET-1 and TXB2 levels were significantly decreased with no significant changes in CGRP.The expression level of ET-1 and TXA2 receptor mRNA was significantly higher in patients with pulmonary artery hypertension than in those without pulmonary artery hypertension.However,the expression of CGRP receptor mRNA was lower in patients with pulmonary artery hypertension than in those without pulmonary artery hypertension.Conclusion Plasma ET-1,CGRP and TXA2 levels are closely related with congenital heart disease-associated pulmonary artery hypertension,and can be used as an index for its prognosis.
8.Effect of heart tablets on cardiac hemodynamics and myocardial oxygen consumption in anesthetized dogs.

OBJECTIVETo observe the pharmacological effects of Heart tablets on cardiac function and its mechanism, the effects on cardiac hemodynamics and myocardial oxygen consumption in anesthetized dogs were observed.
METHODObserve the effect of Heart tablets on coronary blood flow, cardiac output, myocardial oxygen consumption and other indicators in normal anesthetized dogs.
RESULTThe Heart tablets can increase femoral arterial blood pressure, while no effect is found on the heart rate, standard II ECG PR interval, QRS interval, QT interval, T wave and other parameters. The tablets can expand coronary artery and peripheral vessel, increase coronary blood flow, lower coronary resistance and increase cardiac blood supply capacity, improve left ventricular function, ameliorate cardiovascular adaptability, increase dp/dt(max), enhance myocardial activity and have a positive regulatory role in heart. At the meantime raise the cardiac output and stroke volume were raised, so that blood pressure can be increased, while the total peripheral resistance was decreased. The coronary vein sinus oxygen content were significantly increased and myocardial oxygen consumption index and myocardial oxygen utilization were reduced.
CONCLUSIONThe tablets can adjust and improve the cardiovascular system.

Objective To observe the effects of simplified recipe ofBuyang Huanwu Decoction on expression of APJ in the brain of local cerebral ischemia rats;To discuss its mechanism of action. MethodsFocal cerebral ischemia rat models were established by middle cerebral arterial occlusion. The adult rats were randomly divided into sham-operation group, model group,Buyang Huanwu Decoction group and simplified recipe ofBuyang Huanwu Decoction group. Administration groups were given relevant medicine for gavage. The expressions of APJ protein and APJ mRNA at different time points were detected by Western blot and RT-PCR.ResultsCompared with model group and sham-operation group, the expression of APJ protein and APJ mRNA at different time points in Buyang Huanwu Decoction group and simplified recipe ofBuyang Huanwu Decoction group significantly increased (P<0.05). The expression of APJ protein at different time points showed no difference between simplified recipe ofBuyang Huanwu Decoction group andBuyang Huanwu Decoction group;while the expression of APJ mRNA in simplified recipe ofBuyang Huanwu Decoction group was higher than Buyang Huanwu Decoction group (P<0.05).ConclusionSimplified recipe ofBuyang Huanwu Decoction plays a role in neural protection and restoration by promoting the expression of APJ in the brain of focal cerebral ischemia rats.
10.Comparison of the Effects of Buyang Huanwu Decoction and Its Recipe Composition on Cerebral Ischemic Injury

Objective To investigate the preventive effects of Buyang Huanwu Decoction (BYHWD) and its recipe composition (BYJJF) in focal ischemic brain injury condition in vivo/in vitro. Methods In vivo studies, SD rats were divided into sham-operation group, MCAO group, BYHWD group and BYJJF group based on rat weight, 10 rats in each group. The body weight, infarct area and brain water contents were determined. In vitro studies, H2O2 was used to damage PC12 cells, and the vitro oxidative stress cell model was established. PC12 cells were divided into normal group, blank control group, BYHWD and BYJJF groups with different concentrations (0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.5 mg/mL). MTT method was employed to determine the protective effects of BYHWD and BYJJF on model cells.Results Vivo studies showed that after 7 days of treatment with BYHWD and BYJJF, those determinated quotas were all significantly improved compared with MCAO model rats (P<0.05), and there were no differences between BYHWD and BYJJF (P>0.05).Vtiro studies showed that the protective effects of BYHWD and BYJJF took place 2 hours later, and it was obvious in oxidative stress injury caused by H2O2, with statistical differences with model group (P<0.05). BYHWD and BYJJF could increase cell viability, and there was no difference between the groups with same concentration (P>0.05).Conclusion The research confirmed that BYJJF plays a significant role in improving the cerebral ischemia injury, which is the same performance as BYHWD, and BYJJF can save TCM resources under the precondition of TCM efficacy.
