The purpose of education is to cultivate talents who can master the ability of self-learning lifelong. With the rapid development of multimedia technology, the knowledge carrier represented by micro curriculum plays a very important role in improving students' self-learning ability. In traditional Chinese medicine college, due to the short of time, weak learning foundation, the ability of self-learning is hard to improve in the modern medical courses such as biochemistry. This is not conducive to the cultivation of modern talents of Chinese medicine. In this paper, we chose the biochemistry teaching in TCM college as an example, and discuss how we can make the application of micro courses reasonably in the teaching process. This study was regarded as a starting to improve the students' self-learning ability effectively.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2022;34(8):788-793
Objective:
To examine the correlation between visuospatial construction ability and occupational aluminum exposure among aluminum workers, so as to provide the evidence for early protection of occupational injury among aluminum workers.
Methods:
A total of 442 workers in an aluminum factory in Shanxi Province were selected using a cluster sampling method, and participants' demographic features and occupational history were collected. The blood aluminum concentration was measured using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), and the visuospatial construction ability was evaluated with the Cube Copying Test (CCT) of the Chinese version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). The correlation between the visuospatial construction ability and blood aluminum concentration was examined using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total of 442 aluminum workers were enrolled, and all participants were male, with a mean age of (43.40±7.31) years, labor service duration of (23.64±8.35) years and a mean blood aluminum concentration of 33.87 µg/L. Of all participants, there were 206 workers with impaired visuospatial construction ability (46.61%), including 127 workers with blood aluminum concentrations of >33.87 µg/L (61.65%); 190 workers with educational duration of 6 to 9 years (92.23%), 118 electrolytic aluminum workers (57.28%), 114 workers with work shifts (55.34%), and 123 workers with a very good sleep quality (59.71%). Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that blood aluminum concentrations of >33.87 µg/L (OR=2.490, 95%CI: 1.531-4.052), educational duration of 6 years or more (OR: 0.075-0.246, 95%CI: 0.015-0.622), work type as a non-electrolytic aluminum worker (OR=0.838, 95%CI: 0.425-0.987), work shift (OR=1.179, 95%CI: 1.078-1.435) and a very good sleep quality (OR=0.104, 95%CI: 0.012-0.896) significantly correlated with impaired visuospatial construction ability among aluminum worker.
Conclusion
Impaired visuospatial construction ability correlates with occupational aluminum exposure among aluminum workers.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Infectious Diseases 2020;13(5):335-340
Objective:To explore the risk factors of bacterial infections in patients with decompensated hepatitis B cirrhosis and to construct a risk prediction model. Methods:The clinical data of 198 patients with decompensated hepatitis B cirrhosis admitted in Zhejiang Provincial People’s Hospital from January 2014 to April 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. There were 86 patients with bacterial infection (infection group) and 112 patients without bacterial infections (non-infection group). The risk factors of bacterial infections were analyzed by multivariate Logistic regression. R language was used to establish a nomogram model to predict the risk of bacterial infection in patients with decompensated hepatitis B cirrhosis. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to explore the prediction efficiency of the nomogram model for bacterial infection. Results:Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that previous smoking history, prothrombin time, neutrophil count and hypersensitive C protein were independent risk factors for bacterial infection in patients with decompensated hepatitis B cirrhosis ( P<0.05 or <0.01), while regular antiviral treatment and high-density lipoprotein were protective factors ( P<0.05 or <0.01). ROC curve showed that the area under the curve (AUC) of risk prediction model for bacterial infections was 0.872 (95% CI 0.820-0.924, P<0.01), and AUC of MELD score for predicting bacterial infections was 0.670 (95% CI 0.599-0.735, P<0.01); the risk prediction model was superior to MELD score in prediction ( Z=4.89, P<0.01). Conclusions:The established risk prediction model in this study can more accurately predict the occurrence of bacterial infections in patients with decompensated hepatitis B cirrhosis.

The disclosure of medical service information is an important tool to help patients make medical decisions, improve the quality of medical services, and strengthen hospital supervision. The effectiveness of disclosing medical service information lies in meeting the needs of patients. The disclosure of medical service information in foreign countries started earlier that China. In order to strengthen the compatibility between medical service information and patient needs, some developed countries had used patient experience surveys, patient satisfaction surveys, and patient medical reports as the sources of public information. These countries publicly released information on medical quality, doctor-patient feedback, and social responsibility through official unified release platforms and processes, while establishing diversified and institutionalized regulatory mechanisms to create a good information disclosure system and mechanism for patient decision-making, service quality improvement, and government regulation.By drawing on the experience of medical service information disclosure in developed countries, the author proposed that we should carry out a comprehensive survey of patient needs, establish a convenient and transparent information disclosure platform, and establish a sound scientific regulatory mechanism, so as to provide reference for promoting the establishment of a patient demand oriented medical service information disclosure mechanism in China

OBJECTIVETo analyze the survival time and its related factors among AIDS patients in Liangshan prefecture of Sichuan province from 1995 to 2012.
METHODSA retrospective cohort study was conducted to analyze the information of 5 263 AIDS patients. The data were collected from Chinese HIV/AIDS Comprehensive Information Management System. Life table method was applied to calculate the survival proportion, and Kaplan-Meier and Cox proportion hazard regression model were used to identify the factors related to survival time.
RESULTSAmong 5 273 AIDS patients, 819 (15.6%)died of AIDS related diseases; 2 782(52.9%) received antiretroviral therapy. The average survival time was 126.7 (117.1-136.2) months, and the survival rate in 1, 5, 10, 15 years were 95.4%, 78.8%, 54.2%, and 31.8% respectively. Univariate analysis showed a significant difference in survival time of age diagnosed as AIDS patients, nationality, transmission route, AIDS phase, CD4(+)T cell counts in the last testing, receiving antiretroviral therapy or not. Multivariate Cox regression showed age diagnosed AIDS below 50 years old ( < 15 years old:HR = 0.141, 95%CI:0.036-0.551;15-49 years old:HR = 0.343, 95%CI:0.241-0.489), HIV infection diagnosed phase (HR = 0.554, 95%CI:0.432-0.709), CD4(+)T cell counts last testing ≥ 350/µl (HR = 0.347, 95%CI:0.274-0.439) reduced the risk of dying of AIDS related diseases among AIDS patients. The patients having not received antiretroviral therapy had a higher risk of death(HR = 3.478, 95%CI:2.943-4.112) compared to those who received antiretroviral therapy.
CONCLUSIONSurvival time of AIDS patients was possibly mainly influenced by the age of diagnosed as AIDS patients, AIDS phase, CD4(+)T cell counts and whether or not received antiretroviral therapy. The early initiation of antiretroviral therapy could extend the survival time.

Journal of Environmental and Occupational Medicine 2024;41(12):1438-1445
Due to the outstanding hydrophobic and oleophobic properties, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are widely used in daily life and frequently detected in the environment. PFAS can enter the human body through water, food, and air exposure and accumulate in the human body. Epidemiological and toxicological evidence suggest that PFAS have endocrine-disrupting properties and may cause thyroid dysfunction by altering the hormonal homeostasis of the thyroid. This in turn affects the body's normal physiological functions, such as the physical growth and neurodevelopment in infants. Pregnancy and early life are special physiological stages, and the special dietary and lifestyle habits of this period make mothers and infants more likely to be exposed to PFAS and more susceptible to PFAS. Therefore, the exposure levels of PFAS and their effects on the thyroid function of mothers and infants were summarized in this review. Possible mechanisms of action by which PFAS may affect thyroid function were also summarized, aiming to provide a theoretical basis for the development of environmental standards and safety limits for PFAS.

Objective:To investigate the differential performance of ultrasound between fibro-adipose vascular anomaly (FAVA) and venous malformations(VMs).Methods:From January 2015 to December 2020, the patients diagnosed with lower extremity FAVA by pathology in Henan Provincial People’s Hospital were enrolled as FAVA group. The patients diagnosed with lower extremity VMs by pathology were enrolled as the control group. The clinical and ultrasound imaging data were retrospectively analyzed. Through the single factor analysis of the two groups’data, the ultrasonic imaging indicators which may be valuable for distinguishing FAVA from VMs were screened. Further, the indicators valuable for differential diagnosis were determined by multi-factor Logistic regression analysis, and a multi-factor joint diagnosis model was constructed. The diagnostic efficiency of the joint diagnosis model was evaluated by the receiver operator characteristic curve (ROC curve), sensitivity, and specificity of the subjects. Results:A total of 20 patients with FAVA were involved, including 11 males and 9 females. The mean age was (18.1±12.2) years. Forty-six patients with VMs were involved, including 20 males and 26 females. The mean age was (19.9±13.6) years. Results of the single-factor analysis were differences in the lesion echo, fascial tail, blood flow, extrusion test, and posterior echo enhance characteristics between groups ( P<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed significant differences between groups in three aspects: fascial tail, extrusion test, and posterior echo enhancement ( P=0.001, 0.008, 0.007). The sensitivity and specificity of the multi-factor combined diagnosis model were 90.0% (95% CI: 68.3%-98.8%) and 93.5%(95% CI: 82.1%-98.6%), indicating high diagnostic efficiency. The ROC(AUC) area was 0.964(95% CI: 0.886-0.994), indicating high diagnostic efficiency. Conclusions:The ultrasonic imaging features of FAVA and VMs were different. The combined diagnosis of the fascial tail, compression test, and posterior echo enhancement has a higher auxiliary diagnostic value.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the survival time and its impact factors among AIDS patients who initially received antiretroviral treatment (ART) of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan province.
METHODSA retrospective cohort study was conducted to analyze the information of AIDS patients over 18 years old initially received ART in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture during 2005-2013, which were downloaded from Chinese AIDS Antiretroviral Therapy DATA Fax Information System. Cox proportion hazard regression model was used to identify impact factors related survival time.
RESULTSAmong 8 310 ART AIDS patients who initially received ART, their mean age was (34.59 ± 9.10) years old, 65.50% (5 443 cases) were infected with HIV through injecting drug use, the mean time from testing HIV positive to starting ART were (24.68 ± 21.69) months. 436 cases died of AIDS related diseases, 28.67% (125 cases) of them died within the first 6 months of treatment. The cumulative survival rate of receiving ART in 1, 2, 3, 4 5 years were 97.11%, 93.41%, 90.61%, 88.81%, 86.02%, respectively. Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed the male patients receiveing ART were at a higher risk death of AIDS related diseases compared to the females (HR = 1.57, 95% CI: 1.13-2.182), the patients infected with HIV through injecting drug use were at a higher risk deathcompared to the infected through heterosexual transmission (HR = 1.64, 95% CI: 1.20-2.24), before the treatment patients with tuberculosis in recent1 year had higher death hazard as compared to those without tuberculosis (HR = 1.53, 95% CI: 1.05-2.21), in the treatment of the first 3 months of AIDS related diseases or symptoms of AIDS patients had higher death hazard as compared to those not suffer these diseases (HR = 1.80, 95% CI: 1.39-2.34). The patients with baseline CD4 (+) T lymphocytes cell counts < 50/µl (HR = 9.79, 95% CI: 6.03-15.89), 50-199/µl (HR = 3.26, 95% CI: 2.32-4.59), 200-349/µl (HR = 1.69, 95% CI: 1.22-2.34), were at a higher risk death than those with CD4 (+) T lymphocytes cell counts ≥ 350/µl.
CONCLUSIONAccumulate survival rate was higher after initial antiretroviral treatment among AIDS patients in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan province. AIDS patients who are males, have tuberculosis in recent year, infected HIV via route of intravenous drug use, with AIDS-related illness or symptoms in 3 months before ART, lower baseline CD4 (+) T lymphocyte count have higher risk of death.
