Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of interleukin2 (IL-2 ) in the treatment of children with recurrent respiratory tract infection( RRTI). Methods 160 children with RRTI from Mar 2005 to June 2008 in our hospital were divided into experimental group (n =80) and control group (n =80) randomly. IL-2 was given by hypodermic injection in experimental group and the other was treated with oral transfer factor. Then the clinical efficacy in two.groups was observed. Results The effects in the experimental group were superior to those in the control group(P <0.01). Conclusion IL-2 could enhance immunity and reduce the incidence rate of RRTI in children patients. The effects were superior to those patients treated with oral transfer factor.

Objective To evaluate the effect of abdominal fat ratio (AFR,abdominal fat volume to total abdominal volume)at the umbilical level on hepatic CT enhancement in humans.Methods We analyzed data in 87 patients (40 women and 47 men)by Pearson correlation and linear regression analysis to assess the association of patient age and AFR with adjusted maximal hepatic enhancement (aMHE,maximal hepatic enhancement divided by the dose of iodine divided by body weight)by sex.Results aMHE was positively correlated with AFR for both men and women (r=0.48 and 0.46,respectively,both P <0.01)but not patient age.Conclusion Pa-tients with more abdominal fat seem to require relatively less amount of contrast media to get the CT enhanced degree of liver similar to those with less fat.

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of tumor chemosensitivity test in the guidance of the advanced epithelial ovarian carcinoma patients treated with chemotherapy.Methods Women with ovarian cancer were enrolled and fresh tissue samples were collected for chemoresponse testing.Oncologists chose a drug for each patient according to the patient’ s condition by double blind method.Each treatment was classified by the assay as: sensitivity (S); moderate sensitivity (I);resistant (R).Progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) were detection.The relationship between treatment response and PFS or OS was analysis.Results 262 patients were enrolled.The PFS and OS were significantly improved in sensitivity patients (S) after chemotherapy,but no significant difference were found in I and R groups.In I+R groups (HR=0.66,P=0.008) , median PFS was 8.9 months, OS was 5.8 months.Chemotherapy response test results was consistent with clinical results cisplatin sensitive and resistant ( HR:0.72 vs.0.66).Multi factor regression analysis showed that tumor chemosensitivity test was independent prognostic factors (HR =0.66, P =0.021).The average OS extended for 14 months (37.6 months for the S group vs.group I +R 23.8 months,HR =0.62, P =0.011).Conclusion Tumor chemosensitivity assay is correlated with the clinical effects and might play an important role in guiding the recurrent epithelial ovarian cancer patients with individualized chemotherapy.

Objective To assess the effect of fructose sodium diphosphate and alpha-lipoic acid on diabetic peripheral neuropathy. Methods Sixty-six patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy were randomly divided into two groups, additional to the regular treatment to control blood glucose, 34 patients in the treatment grouptreated with fructse sodium diphosphate 10 g and alpha-lipoic acid 0.45 g daily through intravenous drip for two weeks (3 patients dropped out due to un-tolerance), 32 patients in the control group treated with alpha-lipoic acid 0.45 g dai-ly through intravenous drip for two weeks. All patients were examined on the improvement of symptoms, motor and sensory nerve conduction velocity of the median nerve and nervus peroneus communis before and after the treatment. Results After treatment for two weeks, the overall effect rate in the treatment group was 93.55 % (28/31), which was significantly higher than that in the control group(68.75%,22/32) (P < 0.05). In the treatment group, the motor nerve conduction velocity for the median nerve and nervus peroneus communis was 47.7 (SD:3.8) m/s and 41.6 (SD: 3.3) m/s after treatment, which was significantly higher than that before treatment (42.5 [SD:2.5] and 36.0[SD:2.8] m/s,respectively) (P <0.05). In the control group, the motor nerve conduction velocity for the median nerve and nervus peroneus communis was 43.4 (SD: 2.0) m/s and 39.6 (SD: 3.3) m/s after treat-ment, which was significantly higher than that before treatment (41.9 [SD16.0] and 36.2 [SD: 1.9] m/s, respec-tively) (P < 0.05). In the treatment group,the sensory nerve conduction velocity for the median nerve and nervus peroneus communis was 40.3 (SD: 1.8) m/s and 34.1 (SD: 2.3) m/s after treatment, which was significantly higher than that before treatment (35.2 [SD:2.3] and 28.8 [SD:2.5] m/s,rospectively) (P <0.05). In the control group,the sensory nerve conduction velocity for the median nerve and nervus peroneus communis was 37.7 (SD:1.7) m/s and 30.8 (SD:2.6) m/s after treatment,which was significantly higher than that before treatment (34.8 [SD :3.1] and 27.8 [SD :2.4] m/s, respectively) (P < 0.05). Furthermore, the improvements in the treat-ment group was significantly higher than those of the control group (P < 0.01). Conclusions Fructse sodium si-phosphate combined with alpha-lipoic acid is more effective to treat diabetic peripheral neuropathy than alpha-lipoic acid only.

Objective To investigate the complications of gynecological laparoscopies and its related fac-tors. Methods The clinical data of 8700 cases with laparoscopic surgeries from August 2003 to August 2008 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Complications occurred in 259 cases,with a overall complication rate of 2.98%, the serious complication occurred in 37 cases(0.43%), and surgical treatment was needed in 21 cases. The compli-cations included: 129 complications related to puncture and pneumoperitoneum(including subcutaneous emphysema and abdominal wall congestion) ,20 related to bleedings, 17 related to injuries ,26 related to postoperative infections. Conclusion Operative gynecologic laparoscopy-induced complications were associated with operation difficulty, so great attention should be paid. In order to reduce the risks of laparoscopic surgery, indications should be selected cor-rectly,and procedures should be operated carefully.

Objective To study the inhibition of neutrophil apoptosis induced by interleukin-6 (IL-6) and evaluate the effect of propofol on IL-6 induced inhibition of neutrophils apoptosis. Methods Neutrophils were isolated from 20 healthy volunteers( 20-55 yr) and incubated in RPMI1640 cell culture medium . Neutrophils from each volunteer were divided into 6 parts and incubated with NS (group Ⅰ -control), IL-6(group Ⅱ), propofol( group Ⅲ), intralipid (the lipid vehicle of propofol-group Ⅳ ), IL-6 + propofol(group Ⅴ), IL-6 + intralipid(group Ⅵ ) respectively. After 24 h of incubation, neutrophils were stained with acridine orange and ethidium bromide and observed under fluorescence microscope. Objective To investigate the relationship between plasma pro-brain natriuretic peptide (N-pro-BNP) level and heart function, as its well as change before and after interventional therapy. Methods Fifty-eight children with left to right shunt congenital heart diseases were enrolled from July, 2004 to Jan, 2005. Clinical heart function were categorized and plasma N-pro-BNP concentration were detected. The ejection fraction (EF), fractional shortening (FS) and left ventricular and diastolic dimension (LVDd) were measured by two-dimensional echocardiography. Objective To study intervention effect of diet habits according to Trans-theoretic Model (TTM) in young and middle-aged patients with asymptomatic hyperuricemia. Methods 120 patients were divided into the intervention group (n=60) and the control group (n=60). The nursing intervention by stages of TTM was implemented to a total of 56 patients in the intervention group in the study. Routine nursing care was taken to 57 patients in the control group. Patients were evaluated by self-designed questionnaire after 1, 3 and 6 months of the intervention in the two groups respectively, including the diets of patients, the change of patients′ eating habit, differences of uric acid, total cholesterol, triglycerides, blood sugar. Results The patients′ intake of beer, seafood, meat, edible oil in the intervention group was lower than the patients′ intake in the control group, while the patients′ intake of fruits and vegetables was higher than the patients′intake in the control group after 1, 3 and 6 months of the intervention, which was statistically significant ( P < 0.01). Compared with 27 cases in the control group, 53 cases in the intervention group were in action phase and maintenance phase after 6-month intervention, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.01). After six months′intervention, the patients′uric acid, triglycerides in the intervention group was (418.01 ± 24.15)μmol/L and (1.52 ± 0.56) mmol/ L respectively, which was significantly lower than (435.02 ± 26.35) μmol/ L and (2.45 ± 0.74) mmol/L in the control group, t values were-3.47 and 2.20 respectively, P<0.01. Conclusions Diet intervention based on the TTM can effectively promote the change of patients′ unhealthy eating habits, improve self-management skills, and reduce uric acid, which is worthy of generalizing.

Objective To probe into the causes,therapeutic and preventive methods of complications associated with transcatheter occlusion of atrial septal defect using the Amplatzer septal occluder in children. Methods Complications occurred in 9 of 211 cases. The complications in procedure of occlusion were those in which there appeared systemic circulatory systemic air embolism in 2,pulmonary air embolism in 1,pericardial tamponade in 1,ASO malposition requiring emergency surgical removal in 1,transient atrial extrasystoles in 1 and sizing balloon rupture in 1 case. Two cases with postoperative complications were found in the follow-up studies. These included perforation of mitral valve and ASO partially dislodged. In this study,5 children with intra-procedure complication received emergency therapy including surgical intervention,and others were needed only in the follow-up,as the complications were transient or asymptomatic. Results There were no children′s deaths in this study. The 5 cases that received treatment completely healed,and the others with intra-procedure complications were also had no sequela. Cases with mitral valve perforation and ASO partially dislodged were still in our follow-up studies,as the 2 patients had no symptoms. Conclusion Air embolisms occurred easily in atrial septal defect cases that received ASO therapy. Complications were mainly caused by inappropriate operative procedure and some complications needed emergency treatments. Follow-up studies were important to cases with transcatheter occlusion therapy.
