Objective To prepare the sinomenine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes with high entrapment efficiency and sustained release character. Methods Multiple emulsion method was used to prepare the sinomenine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes.Uniform design was applied to optimize the formulation and pharmaceutical process. The shape, the particle size, and the release charcter of the liposome were evaluated. Results The sinomenine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes prepared were spherical and the size of majority particles was in the range of 20—30 ?m and well distributed. The encapsulation efficiency was more than 80% and its in-vitro release profile accorded well with the Higuchi model with t1/2 up to 52.7 h.Conclusion The formulation and pharmaceutical process of the sinomenine hydrochloride multivesicular liposomes are stable and feasible with the high encapsulation efficiency and good sustained-release character.

This study was aimed to evaluate effects of traditional Chinese medicine ( TCM ) five elements music therapy on the quality of life for both senior and non-senior advanced cancer patients , and improve TCM com-prehensive treatment mode . A total of 170 patients were stratified according to 70-year-old in a randomized controlled trial ( RCT ) with a parallel single-blind design . The ratio of patients among three groups was 2:2:1 . In the experimental group , TCM five elements music was given in the treatment . In the positive control group , western music was used in the treatment . And in the negative control group , no music was given in the treat-ment . The treatment was given for 30 min , 5 times per week . And the observation duration was 3 weeks . The Hospice Quality of Life Index-Revised ( HQOLI-R ) , Karnofsky Performance Scale ( KPS ) and Symptom Diary Score recorded by patients were used in the evaluation . The results showed that when comparing HQOLI-R , KPS and Symptom Diary Score before and after treatment among all advanced cancer patients in each group , there was a significant difference before and after treatment in the TCM five elements music therapy group ( P< 0 . 05 ) . But there was no significant difference before and after treatment in the western music therapy group or the negative control group ( P > 0 . 05 ) . It was concluded that TCM five elements music therapy is effective in improving quality of life and subjective symptoms for both senior and non-senior advanced cancer patients . However , the sensitivity of using the Symptom Diary Score as an evaluation index among senior patients still needs to be further proved .

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2003;0(10):-
Objective To design a device sampling Korotkoff's sound signal and acquiring blood pressure based on Korotkoff theory. Methods The author sampled Korotkoff's sound signal via microphone, and then according the cuff pressure corresponding to signal appearance and disappearance, the author acquired SBP and DBP.At last, the author validated the creditability by contrasting with the results of auscultatory method. Results The difference of SBP and DBP is near nonexistence, the blood pressure data using this device is creditable. Conclusion The blood pressure can be measured using this device, and it can be used to further study the auto-measurement of blood pressure base on Korotkoff's sound theory.

Objective:To study the protective effects of Danhong injection ( DH) on myocardial damage induced by doxorubicin ( DOX) in Lewis tumor bearing mice. Methods:The model of Lewis lung cancer in mice was established by underarm injecting tumor cells, and then randomly divided into four groups:the model control group, DOX group, DH group and DH+DOX group. After the experiment, myocardial and tumor tissue were separated from Lewis tumor bearing mice, and the excised tumors were weighted. The activities of lactate dehydrogenase ( LDH) , creatine kinase ( CK) , manganese superoxide dismutase ( SOD) , catalase ( CAT) and glu-tathione peroxidase ( GPx) , and the content of malondialdehyde ( MDA) were determined by a colorimetric method. Flow cytometry was used to determine the levels of apoptosis, reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitochondrial membrane potential (△Ψm). Re-sults:Compared with that in the model control group, a significant decrease of tumor weight was shown in both DOX group and DH+DOX group (P<0. 01). DH had no significant influence on the anticancer function of DOX. The activity of LDH and CK, and the ap-optosis in myocardium cells significantly increased (P<0. 01). Compared with DOX group, the activities of LDH and CK, and the ap-optosis significantly decreased in DH+DOX group (P<0. 01). The activities of △Ψm, SOD, CAT and GPx significantly increased (P<0.05orP<0.01). ThecontentofMDAandROSgenerationbothdecreased(P<0.01).Conclusion:DHhasnosignificantin-fluence on the antitumor effect of DOX. The combination of DH and DOX shows cadioprotective effect on the myocardial damage through improving mitochondrial antioxidant defense capacity, ameliorating oxidative stress and maintaining △Ψm homeostasis.

Objective To study the role of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) analogue liraglutide played in the proliferation of CD4+CD25 T cells in normal people and newly-onset type 1 diabetic patients, and to evaluate the possible immune regulatory role of liraglutide in the therapy of type 1 diabetes. Methods CD4+ CD25-T cells of 10 normal people and 10 newly-onset type 1 diabetic patients were separated from peripheral blood by MACS immunomagnetic beads and stimulated by Human T-Activator CD3/CD28 Dynabeads to proliferate.CFSE labeling technique was used to evaluate the proliferation of CD4+ CD25-T cells by flow cytometry.Liraglutide of different concentrations(0,25,50,and 100 nmol/ml) was added to the proliferation system, then the proliferation of CD4+CD25-T cell was measured. Results (1) Liraglutide suppressed the proliferation of CD4+ CD25-T cells from either normal people or type 1 diahetic patients with dose-dependent manner (P < 0.05).(2) Under the different concentrationsofliraglutide, the proliferation ofCD4+CD25 T cells from diabetic patients was mueh more robust than that of normal people (P<0.01).(3) The inhibitory effects of liraglutide on CD4+ CD25-T cells proliferation in normal people and diabetic patients were similar (P>0.05).Conclusion The proliferation of CD4+ CD25 T cells in type 1 diabetic patients was more robust than normal people, which indicated cellular immune dysfunction in type 1diabetes.Liraglutide inhibits the proliferation of CD4+ CD25-T cells of type 1 diabetic patients in vitro. The immunosuppression effect of liraglutide may have potential value in the treatment of type 1 diabetes.
