Objective To study the preventive and therapeutic effects and the mechanism of Chinese traditional compound medicine to subcilincal hepatic encephalopathy(SHE)induced by endotoxin in liver cirrhotic rats. Methods The liver cirrhosis model of rats were made in subcutaneous injection of 40% carbon tetrachloride, the SHE model was made by infused with endotoxin into the tail vein.Treatment group was given low dose or moderate dose or high dose of Chinese traditional compound medicine,Control group was treated with lactulose. The morbidity of SHE,hepatic function, blood ammonium(BA),endotoxin, liver tissue pathology were observed. Results Above indexes were improved by every group of Chinese traditional compound medicine. The curative effect of moderate and high group of Chinese traditional compound medicine to the hepatic function,BA,endotoxin, liver tissue pathology were better than that of lactulose. Conclusions The effects of the Chinese traditional compound medicines(compose of Polygonum cuspidatum, raw hawthornfruit, seed of Zizyphus jujuba Mill,Mongolian Dandelion Herb and Rhizoma Acoori Graminei)in SHE prevention and treatment is significant. Its mechanism might be as follows:① recovering liver function, decreasing inflammatory changes of liver tissue;② preventing the absorption of BA,lowering the content of BA;③ reducing the sensitivity of the body to endotoxin.

AIM:Activin A,a member of transforming growth factor superfamily,is the negative regulator factor in liver regeneration. In this study, the effects of extract of Ginkgo Biloba on hepatic fibrosis and the expression of Activin A in rats with cirrhosis were investigated. METHODS:The experiment was performed at in the Central Laboratory of Wuhan First Hospital from September 2005 to December 2006. ①Thirty-six male SD rats of(160?20) g were randomized into 3 groups:control group, model group and treatment group. ② Except the rats in the control group, others were intraperitoneally injected with 500 mL/L CCl4 for 8 weeks to establish models of hepatic fibrosis. Meanwhile, the extract treatment group was infused with the extract of Ginkgo Biloba(Chinese drugs preparation laboratory of Wuhan First Hospital, detected by Hubeu Wushi Medicine Industry Co.,Ltd. No. 02-391) daily for 8 weeks. ③After administration, all anesthetized rats were sacrificed. Blood samples were collected for the determination of liver function biochemical indexes. Liver tissue samples were used for histopathological examinations. The expression of Activin A was determined by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR. RESULTS:All 36 rats were involved in the final analysis. ①The liver function in extract treatment group was significantly improved compared with that in model group. ②The grade of fibrosis in extract treatment group were remarkably lower than that in model group under light microscope. ③The positive staining of Activin A in treatment group was significantly reduced compared with model group. ④The expression of Activin A mRNA in extract treatment group was significantly reduced compared with model group. CONCLUSION:Extract of Ginkgo Biloba can effectively decrease the expression of Activin A in rats with hepatic fibrosis caused by CCl4,and lessen the degree of hepatic fibrosis.

Objective To evaluate the effect of early rehabilitation and acupuncture on acute stroke. Methods125 cases stroke patients were divided into 4 groups: the early rehabilitation and acupuncture group, 34 cases(Group A); the early rehabilitation group, 39 cases(Group B); the early acupuncture group, 21 cases(Group C); and the control group, 31 cases. Bobath therapy and acupuncture were used. The CNS Damage Scale, Fugl Meyer Assessment(FMA), Modified Barthel Index(MBI), Clinical Therapeutic Effectiveness and Rehabilitation Efficiency were observed in all patients at the beginning, middle and end of the course. Results Rehabilitation Efficiency was the highest in Group A among all groups, and higher in Group B than in Group C and the control group, and higher in Group C than in the control group. The Clinical Therapeutic Effectiveness was better in Group A,B and C than in the control group, and better in Group C than in the control group. Conclusion It is a main and effective therapy to improve the patient\'s condition that early rehabilitation is combined with early acupuncture on acute stroke patients.

Chinese Journal of Clinical and Experimental Pathology 2015;(9):996-1000
Purpose To analyze the clinical pathological characteristics and pathological diagnosis and prognosis of spindle cell carci-noma of the breast. Methods Three cases of spindle cell carcinoma of the breast were studied by morphological and immunohisto-chemical EnVision techniques. Results The females were 48, 63 and 71 years old. The tumors located in the right breast with 4. 0 cm × 3. 0 cm × 3. 0 cm, 3. 0 cm × 2. 0 cm × 2. 0 cm and 3. 5 cm × 2. 8 cm × 2. 3 cm in size and showed cystic lesion. The neoplasm was composed of bland spindle cells and mimicking fibromatosis. Immunohistochemical staining showed that spindle cells were positive for CK(AE1/AE3), CK(34βE12), CK14, CK5/6, p63 and vimentin, negative for ER, PR and c-erbB-2. Ki-67 was positive in 20%, 25% and 20% of the cells. Conclusion Spindle cell carcinoma of the breast is a rare subtype of the metaplastic carcinoma which tend to show cystic changes. It is important to make a definite diagnosis which combine histopathologic features and immunophe-notyping.

Objective To study the ultrasonic extraction technology of tyrosol in Rhodiolae Crenulatae Radix et Rhizoma; To mathematically simulate the extraction process. Methods The content of tyrosol was set as index;HPLC was used;the ultrasonic extraction process of tyrosol in Rhodiolae Crenulatae Radix et Rhizoma was optimized by an orhogonal experiment and mathematic simulation. Results The optimum ultrasonic extraction conditions were as follows:80%ethanol was used as extraction solvent, the ratio of material to liquid was 1:35 (g:mL), with the extraction time of 30 min and ultrasonic power of 240 W. In these conditions, the extracting rate of tyrosol was 0.150 1%. Compared with the heating reflux method, the extraction time should be shortened by 66.7% and the extracting rate should be increased by 12%.Conclusion The extraction method is simple and the extraction rate of effective components is high. Mathematical simulation values based on ultrasonic extraction are consistent with experiment values.

Objective To evaluate the mid-term and long-term effects of early endovascular emboli-zation in treating ruptured posterior communicating artery aneurysm. Methods Early endovascular embolization therapy was carried out in 36 patients with ruptured posterior communicating artery aneurysm (36 aneurysms in total), and the effects of embolization therapy were evaluated by using Raymond grading method. The unified imaging review program was formulated, and the mid-term and long-term effects were evaluated at half, 1, 2, 3 and 5 years after the treatment. Results The technical success rate was 100% in 36 patients (36 aneurysms in total). Raymond grading evaluation showed that gradeⅠwas seen in 32 patients, gradeⅡ in 2 patients, and grade Ⅲ in 2 patients. Recurrence of aneurysm was found in 5 patients (13.89%) at half (n=1), 2 (n=1), 3 (n=1) and 5 years (n=2) after the treatment. Re-rupture of the recurrent aneurysm was seen in one patient (2.78%). No death occurred during the following-up period. Conclusion Early endovascular embolization for ruptured posterior communicating artery aneurysm can effectively improve the prognosis of subarachnoid hemorrhage, and regular imaging examination can promptly detect the recurrence of aneurysm. Effective interventions are helpful for preventing deterioration and rupture of aneurysm.
