Objective To study effects of temperature on learning and memory of Drosophila melanogaster. Methods Food was put in two centrifuge tubes.Drosophila can smell and eat food through pores in one centrifuge tube but Drosophila can only smell but not eat food through pores in another centrifuge tube with obstacle. After Drosophila were bred at different temperatures, the variation of the numbers of Drosophila in two tubes were observed. Results The number of Drosophila bred at high temperature entering the tube and eating the food was fewer than that at normal temperature and low temperature. Conclusion High temperature can decrease the learning and memory behavior of Drosophila.

Objective To explore the pathogenic genes relevant to Behcet's disease (BD) by building the differentail gene expression profiles of peripheral blood leukocytes in BD. Methods Oligonucleotide gene array from Affymetrix Company was applied to study the differed expression levels of whole genome between three age and sex matched BD patients and normal controls. Four genes, BCL6, LRAP, ICOSLG and MME, were selected to be tested for gene expression levels by real-time PCR in the groups of BD, normol controls (NC), Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) peticnts. Results ① Differential gene expression profile of BD compared to that of normal controls was built up. It contained 89 up-regulated and 57 down-regulated genes. ② Four genes mentioned above had significantly higher expression levels in active BD patients than those in NC but had lower exoression levels in stable BD patients. The expression levels of BCL6 and MME were also proved to be increased significantly in BD than in RA and SLE patients. Conclusion ① Our work shed some light on further research of the etiopathogenesis of BD. ② The expression levels of the four genes are proved to be relevant to BD the first time by us. Further analysis showes that TNF-α and IFN-γ can up-regulate the expression levels of BCL6, LRAP and ICOSLG which may be novel to BD. The MME gene is expressed on the surface of cells, which is convenient for test and may potentially be a marker for the diagnosis of BD.

Objective:To analyze the terminal survey data of hospice care services in a district of Beijing in 2020, and discuss its current situation and existing problems of hospice care services in this district for countermeasures, hence providing reference for the development of hospice care services. Methods:Data were collected from the " Terminal Survey Forms of the Second Batch of Hospice Care Pilot Areas in China in 2020" , which were reported by 4 tertiary hospitals and 5 community health service centers in a district of Beijing. The reporting timeframe ranged from January to December 2020. Text analysis method was used to analyze the hospice care mode, relevant security policies, hospice care team, case diagnosis categories, average hospitalization days and patient cost burden. All the data were subject to descriptive analysis. Results:In 2020, only 4 tertiary hospitals carried out outpatient, consultation and inpatient services of hospice care among the 9 medical institutions in a certain district of Beijing, and none of them carried out home hospice care services. The number of doctors and nurses engaged in hospice care in the four hospitals was 35 and 40 respectively; There were 267 inpatient cases of hospice care, including 121 cases of malignant tumors, accounting for 45.32%; The average hospitalization days of hospice patients (40.0 days) was more than that of the hospital (7.8 days); The average daily hospitalization cost of hospice patients (3 428.7 yuan) was lower than that of the hospital (3 605.6 yuan); Hospice care services had not been included in the scope of medical insurance payment, and the relevant security policies were not perfect. Conclusions:The work of hospice care service in a district of Beijing remains at an initial stage, and the professional team building and supporting policies for hospice care fail to catch up with the demand in this district. The authors suggest to speed up the development of hospice care in primary medical institutions, build a network of " hospital -community-family" levels, enhance training of professionals and technical personnel of hospice care, as well as establish and improve the medical security system, so as to promote the rapid development of hospice care services in this district.

Objective:To investigate clinical efficacy of parasacral perforator flap (PPF) on postoperative wound healing in pilonidal sinus diseases (PSDs).Methods:The surgery steps were as follows: (1) To preoperatively detect parasacral perforator arteries with the handhold Doppler probe and mark them; (2) To remove the infected and necrotic tissues of PSDs completely; (3) To design the PPF according to the wound size and the parasacral perforator arteries' localization; (4) To harvest the flap from the gluteus maximus muscle surface and transfer it to the wound without tension. Several data were documented, including surgical duration, flap length, flap width, drainage tube placement duration, hospital stay, duration from operation to stitch removal, postsurgical complications and recurrence. Results:There were six patients with PSDs whose postoperative wound healing was repaired by PPF, admitted in our department from March 2021 to March 2023. Of them, five were male and one was female. Their median age was 24 (range: 18-33) years old. Their median surgical duration was 165 (range: 134-207) minutes, median length of PPF was 8 (range: 7-11) cm, median width of PPF was 3 (range: 3-4) cm, mean duration of drainage tube placement was 8 (range: 4-17) days, mean hospital stay was 13 (range: 6-23) days, mean duration from operation to stitch removal was 14 (range: 14-17) days, median follow-up time was 6-16 months. Incisions of all six cases achieved first-intention healing without early- or late-stage complications. No recurrence occurred during follow-up. All patients involved were satisfied with their clinical efficacy. Conclusion:The utility of PPF in postoperative wound healing of PPDs was effective, safe and reliable.
