Objective To investigate regeneration and repair effect after ChABC,GDNF and Nogo-A Ab combination treatment for experimental spinal cord injury model. Methods Rat (T7-8 )complete spinal cord injury crosscutting animal model was established. The SD rats were randomly divided into 6 groups:normal group, sham operation group, simple transection group,A (ChABC)group,G (GDNF)group,N (Nogo-A antibody) group, and AGN (ChABC+GDNF+Nogo-A antibody)group. At 24 w after spinal cord injury,BDA tracer,NF-200,GAP-43,and GFAP immunohistochemistry were evaluated. Results BDA tracer of A group,G group and N group showed dye light, the proximal end of damaged zone showed the blue tracer particles, while damaged zone showed few blue regenerated nerve fibers.AGN group showed visible blue nerve fibers through the damaged zone and the distal segment in the damaged zone;the central zone of injury vacuolar degeneration showed the blue dyed fibers.NF-200 immunohistochemical staining showed NF-positive staining in A group,AGN was stronger than that in control group and simple transection group (P <0.05),AGN group than G group,N group significantly increased (P <0.05).GAP-43 positive staining in A group and AGN treatment group was stronger than in control group and simple transection group (P <0.05),AGN group significantly increased compared with A,G and N groups (P <0.05).GFAP positive staining in control group and simple transection group was stronger than in each treatment group (P <0.05),but A group,G group,N group and AGN group showed no significant differences (P > 0.05 ).SEP wave was detected in control group and AGN group, while the latency time was longer in AGN group than in control group. Conclusion ChABC,GDNF,and anti-Nogo-A antibody used alone or in combination can improve spinal cord injury and nerve cell function, and the joint application could improve regeneration after spinal cord injury than any monotherapy.

By constructing the genomic DNA library of Meiothermus ruber CBS-01, the genes of trehalose phosphate synthase (TPS) and trehalose phosphate phosphatase (TPP) involved in trehalose synthesis were cloned. The genes were cloned into the plasmid pET21a, and expressed in Escherichia coli Rosetta gami (DE3). The activities of these two purified enzymes were confirmed by thin layer chromatography (TLC). Meanwhile, we tested the cellular compatible solutes of M. ruber CBS-01 under different environmental pressure, and found that under hyperosmotic pressure, this strain can accumulate trhalose-6-phosphate, but not trehalose. These results can give more insight to future research in the roles of TPS/TPP and TreS pathway.

Objective To compare 2 kinds of artificial dermis Lando(R) versus Pelnac(R) combined with induced membrane technique in the treatment of composite trauma in rabbit bilateral femurs. Methods Twenty-seven male rabbits, weighing from 1.92 kg to 2.21 kg (average,2.04 kg),were used in the experiments. After models of composite trauma were created in the bilateral femurs of all the rabbits, the bilateral femurs of 9 random rabbits were subjected to the treatment of artificial dermis Lando(R) plus induced membrane (Lando(R) group),the bilateral femurs of another 9 random rabbits to the treatment of artificial dermis Pelnac(R) plus induced membrane (Pelnac(R) group),the left femur of the remaining 9 rabbits to the treatment of induced membrane (control group) and the right femur of the remaining 9 rabbits to no treatment (sham operation group).Three rabbits from each group (the same for the control and sham operation groups) were randomly sacrificed at 2,4 and 6 weeks after operation.Samples from the operation sites were taken for gross observation of the induced membrane and observation of the microstructure of the membrane by conventional hematoxylin-eosin staining. In addition, the microvessel density (MVD) was counted under microscopy taking CD34 immunohistochemistry as the standard. The data were statistically analyzed. Results The collagen sponge layer was completely degraded 2 weeks after operation in the Lando(R) group but not in the Pelnac(R) group. The MVD [(0.90 ± 0.55)/HPF] in the Lando(R) group was significantly greater than that in the Pelnac(R) group [(0.28 ± 0.13)/HPF] (P < 0.05).The collagen sponge layer was degraded 4 weeks after operation in the Lando(R) and Pelnac(R) groups and there was no significant difference between the 2 groups in MVD [(3.61 ± 1.31)/HPF versus (4.34 ± 0.77)/HPF] (P > 0.05).At 6 weeks postoperatively, the MVD [(4.97 ±0.76)/HPF] in the Lando(R) group was significantly smaller than that in the Pelnac(R) group [(7.06 ± 1.03)/HPF] (P < 0.05).At 2 weeks after operation, the MVD was (0.11 ±0.19)/HPF in the control group and the sham operation group, showing a significant difference compared with the Lando(R) group (P < 0.05) but no significant difference compared with the Pelnac(R) group (P > 0.05).The MVD at 4 and 6 weeks after operation in the control and the sham operation groups were all significantly different from those in the Lando(R) and the Pelnac(R) groups (P < 0.05).Conclusions In the treatment of composite trauma in rabbits, the 2 kinds of artificial dermis combined with the induction membrane technique can lead to formation of induced membrane structure, providing a new alternative treatment for patients with bone and soft tissue defects caused by various causes in the clinic. The Lando(R) artificial dermis may accelerate the vascularization of induced membrane at 2 weeks while the Pelnac(R) may accelerate the vaseularization at 4 and 6 weeks.

Tumor radiotherapy is established on the basis of clinical oncology, radio-physics and radiobiology, and has become one of the three major therapeutic methods for malignant tumors. With the pace of socialist construction in China, the subject of radiotherapy in Shanxi province has developed from scratch and from small to large for more than 60 years. Remarkable achievements have been made in the establishment of departments, the updating of technical equipment, the increase of employees and clinical scientific research. This article reviews and summarizes the development history of tumor radiotherapy in Shanxi province.
