OBJECTIVETo evaluate the effect of microwave sintering on the translucency of zirconia and to compare these effect with those of conventional sintering. The relationship between the microstructure of specimens and translucency was investigated.
METHODSA total of 10 disc-shaped specimens were fabricated from 2 commercial brands of zirconia, namely, Zenostar and Lava. Each group included 5 discs. Conventional sintering was performed according to the manufacturers' specifications. The maximum temperature for Zenostar was 1,490 °C, whereas that for Lava was 1,500 °C. The dwelling time was 2 h. The sintering temperature for microwave sintering was 1,420 °C, heating rate was 15 °C · min⁻¹, and dwelling time was 30 min. After sintering, the translucency parameter (TP) of the specimens were measured with ShadeEye NCC. The sintered density of the specimens was determined by Archimedes' method. The grain size and microstructure of the specimens were investigated by scanning electron microscopy.
RESULTSDensity and translucency slightly increased by microwave sintering, but no significant difference was found between microwave and conventional sintering (P > 0.05). Small and uniform microstructure were obtained from microwave sintering. The mean TP of Lava was significantly higher than that of Zenostar (P < 0.001).
CONCLUSIONThe translucency of zirconia sintered by microwave sintering is similar to that of the zirconia sintered by conventional sintering.

Objective:To study the in vitro antimicrobial activity of traditional Chinese medicine herbal pair of euphorbia humifusa Willd. and portulaca oleracea L. . Methods: The antibacterial effect in vitro of the traditional Chinese medicine herbal pair and the single herb of euphorbia humifusa Willd. and portulaca oleracea L. was studied on staphylococcus aureus, escherichia coli and pseudo-monas aeruginosa by the 2-fold dilution method and the broth micro-dilution method in a 96-well plate. The minimum inhibitory con-centration ( MIC) , minimum bactericidal concentration ( MBC) and the diameter of inhibition zone were determined. Results:The ex-perimental strains showed the different sensitivity among the traditional Chinese medicine herbal pair and the single herb. The antibac-terial and bactericidal activity of the traditional Chinese medicine herbal pair was the most obvious(P<0. 05). As the temperature in-creasing, the antibacterial activity of all water extract on different experimental strains changed. The results of MIC and MBC showed that the effects of water extract on escherichia coli were strongest, that of stapphylococcus aureus were secong, ant that of pseudomonas aeruginosa were relatively weak. Conclusion:The traditional Chinese medicine herbal pair of euphorbia humifusa Willd. and portulaca oleracea L. has antibacterial and bactericidal activity in varying degrees on the experimental strains with some differences, and the changes in the application forms of traditional Chinese medicines has great influence on the antibacterial and bactericidal ability.

In order to express the gene of LEN-5 β-lactamase from a Klebsiella pneumoniae strain, plasmids in the strain were extracted and an 879bp product of LEN-5 gene was obtained with PCR.After being digested with Nde I and Xho I,LEN-5 gene was cloned into pET-26b (+) vector. Then it was confirmed by digestion and DNA sequencing in recombinant plasmid before transformed into E.coli BL21 (DE3).After inducing by IPTG,LEN-5 β-lactamase was expressed.Protein extraction was processed by ultrasonic and protein activity was detected by nitrocefin. The isoelectric focusing electrophoresis showed a pI of 7.6.These results indicated that the LEN-5 gene has been cloned and expressed in prokaryote cell successfully.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2017;35(2):150-154
OBJECTIVEThis study evaluated the wear of an antagonist and friction and wear properties of dental zirconia ceramic that was subjected to microwave and conventional sintering methods.
METHODSTen specimens were fabricated from Lava brand zirconia and randomly assigned to microwave and conventional sintering groups. A profile tester for surface roughness was used to measure roughness of the specimens. Wear test was performed, and steatite ceramic was used as antagonist. Friction coefficient curves were recorded, and wear volume were calculated. Finally, optical microscope was used to observe the surface morphology of zirconia and steatite ceramics. Field emission scanning electron microscopy was used to observe the microstructure of zirconia.
RESULTSWear volumes of microwave and conventionally sintered zirconia were (6.940±1.382)×10⁻², (7.952±1.815) ×10⁻² mm³, respectively. Moreover, wear volumes of antagonist after sintering by the considered methods were (14.189±4.745)×10⁻², (15.813±3.481)×10⁻² mm³, correspondingly. Statistically significant difference was not observed in the wear resistance of zirconia and wear volume of steatite ceramic upon exposure to two kinds of sintering methods. Optical microscopy showed that ploughed surfaces were apparent in zirconia. The wear surface of steatite ceramic against had craze, accompanied by plough. Scanning electron microscopy showed that zirconia was sintered compactly when subjected to both conventional sintering and microwave methods, whereas grains of zirconia sintered by microwave alone were smaller and more uniform.
CONCLUSIONSTwo kinds of sintering methods are successfully used to produce dental zirconia ceramics with similar friction and wear properties. .

Objective To investigate the effect of first aid nursing path under the center of chest pain on the diagnosis and treatment of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Methods A total of 79 cases of STEMI patients who had been selected for emergency treatment after the establishment of the chest pain center were as the experimental group. The patient's first aid nursing path was used in the center of chest pain. A total of 159 cases of STEMI patients before the establishment of the chest pain center were as the control group, Application of traditional clinical pathway. Compared to the diagnosis and treatment effect of two groups of patients. Results The rate of completed the project within 10 min for the experimental group: the completion of electrocardiogram examination (91.1% vs 84.9% ), oral aspirin, clopidogrel, or lindinda (81.0% vs 75.5%), and laboratory medical order (79.7% vs 69.8%) were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=2.31, 1.68, 2.06, P < 0.05). The day of hospitalization in the experimental group was less than that of the control group (6.48±3.82 vs 9.76± 4.32), and the difference was statistically significant (t=-9.80, P < 0.05). The mortality rate during hospitalization was lower than that of the control group (5.66% vs 3.8% ), and the difference was statistically significant (χ2=-2.24, P<0.05). Conclusion The first aid nursing path in the center of chest pain can shorten the time of diagnosis and treatment of STEMI patients and improve the diagnosis and treatment effect of STEMI patients.

Ferroptosis is a novel regulatory cell death characterized by iron dependence and mainly caused by the accumulation of lipid peroxides and reactive oxygen species in the cell. This process plays an important role in the development of many malignancies, and has been extensively studied in lung cancer, especially in antitumor therapy. In recent years, the role of ferroptosis in tumor immunotherapy has been gradually explored. Studies showed that targeting ferroptosis can improve the therapeutic efficacy of antitumor immunotherapy. In addition, immunotherapy and ferroptosis can work synergistically to enhance the effectiveness of antitumor therapy, suggesting a potential relationship between ferroptosis and immunotherapy and the possible reversal of immune drug resistance. This study aims to elucidate the characteristics of ferroptosis, and the role and potential clinical applications of ferroptosis in the antitumor immunotherapy of advanced non-small cell lung cancer. We also explore the role of some nanomaterials that target the onset of tumor ferroptosis in facilitating immunotherapy.
