1.Overexpression of CPE-ΔN predicts poor prognosis in colorectal cancer patients

Objective Carboxypeptidase E ( CPE) is one of the most important carboxypeptidases in-volved in the biosynthesis of numerous peptide hormones and neurotransmitters and plays an important role in en -docrine regulation .A splice variant of CPE ( CPE-ΔN) has been detected and the mechanism of CPE -ΔN action in tumorigenesis has been studied in many different cancers .The aim of this study is to examine CPE -ΔN ex-pression in human colorectal cancer ( CRC) and to evaluate its possible application as a potential prognostic mark-er.Methods In the present study ,we have analyzed isoform expression of CPE -ΔN by qRT-PCR and West-ern blot in 219 CRC patients .Results Our results showed that CPE -ΔN was overexpressed in colorectal tumor tissue and that high CPE -ΔN mRNA expression was closely correlated with tumor differentiation ,pT classifica-tion,pN classification,tumor recurrence and lymph node metastasis .High CPE-ΔN expression was also identi-fied as an independent prognostic factor using a multivariate analysis (P=0.011).Conclusion Based on these results,we can conclude that CPE -ΔN expression might be a potential prognostic marker for CRC patients .
2.Expression of TNFSF13 in human breast cancer tissues and its clinical significance

Objective To detect the TNFSF13 expression and to evaluate its possible use as a potential prognostic marker in breast cancer .Methods We analyzed TNFSF13 expression by Western blot and qRT -PCR in 93 breast cancer patients .Results Our results showed that TNFSF 13 was overexpressed in breast cancer tis-sue.High TNFSF13 mRNA expression was closely correlated with tumor differentiation , pN classification ( P=0.003,0.022).In addition,patients with high TNFSF13 expression had a significantly shorter survival analyzed by Kaplan-Meier(P=0.04,log-rank test).Cox proportional hazards regression multivariable analysis revealed that high expression of TNFSF13 was identified as an independent prognostic factor (P=0.03).Conclusion TNFSF13 expression might be a novel target for prognosis and intensive therapy in breast cancer patients .

4.A meta-analysis of eye toxicity induced by tamoxifen in breast cancer patients

Objective Methodsof meta-analysis was used to investigate the clinical characteristics, related factors of ocular diseases caused by Tamoxifen.MethodsThe literature and key words in the literature search strategy were used to search the literatures related to the toxicity of tamoxifen in the treatment of breast cancer from 1980 to 2016.Refer to the literature, and extract the data information, use revman 5.1.7 statistical analysis.Results Tamoxifen was taken after t unilateral breast cancer resection by the patient,a sharp decline in visual acuity was found at the third month of taking Tamoxifen, and then the hospital diagnosed it was neuropapillitis.The analysis results show that the ocular toxicity of Tamoxifen was generally appeared after taking 1month to 100months.The most common eye diseases that result in Tamoxifen were macular edema and macular crystallization, although the cure rate was high, but if not treated ocular disease in time, blindness rate was high too.Ocular toxicity may be positive correlated with the cumulative dose of Tamoxifen and Tamoxifen concentration.The incidence rate may also positive correlated with age.Adverse reactions may be related to the metabolic rate, eye disease history and so on.Conclusion The clinical treatment of breast cancer treated with Tamoxifen, should pay attention to the ocular toxicity, replace drugs timely when there is any ADR that could not be tolerate.
5.Establishment of a primate animal model of mandibular reconstruction with the prefabricated, customized bone flaps

BACKGROUND:Prefabricated customized bone flaps have the advantages of few trauma, good vascularization, ossification with predetermined shape, and can be used to restore bone defects with compromised blood bed.
OBJECTIVE:To establish animal models of mandibular reconstruction with prefabricated, customized bone flaps.
METHODS:After computed tomography scanning of nine rhesus’ head, customized meshes were made. After loading with recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2-incorporated demineralized freeze-dried bone al ograft (DFDBA) or coral ine hydroxyapatite (CHA), the constructs were implanted in latissimus dorsi muscle. Meanwhile, segmental mandibular defects were created, and the customized meshes loaded with DFDBA, CHA, or recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2-incooperated DFDBA and CHA were implanted in situ. At 13 weeks, prefabricated bone flaps with recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2-incorporated DFDBA or CHA were transferred to repair segmental mandibular defects. Clinical and histological analyses were used to evaluate the ossification and vascularization of the prefabricated implants in ectopic and orthotopic sites.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Segmental mandibular defects were successful y restored with prefabricated bone flaps and recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2-incorporated CHA in situ, but other segmental mandibular defects remained with recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2-incorporated DFDBA, DFDBA and CHA in situ. Moreover, mandibles reconstructed with prefabricated bone flaps revealed more regenerated and homogeneous bone formation than other reconstructions. These findings suggest that the animal model of mandibular reconstruction with prefabricated, customized bone in rhesus monkey is applicable.
6.Biomechanical and histological analysis of alveolar distraction osteogenesis in a canine model

BACKGROUND:Alveolar distraction osteogenesis is an important method for treating alveolar bone atrophy, the osteogenesis process and biomechanics play a crucial role in the fol owing implantation and repair. At present, no related experimental studies are found.
OBJECTIVE:To analyze the biomechanical and histological characteristics of alveolar distraction osteogenesis in a canine model.
METHODS:Twelve adult mongrel canines received premolars extraction and alveoloplasty in mandible to establish an atrophy alveolar model. After 3 months, a segmental alveolar osteotomy was performed in the randomly selected unilateral atrophy alveolar and two intra-osseous distractors were placed. After a 7-days latency period, the alveolar ridge was augmented at a rate of 1.0 mm/d for 5 days. After a consolidation of 1, 2, and 3 months, the canines were sacrificed and the specimens of the distracted alveolar bone were harvested for clinical, radiographic, histological and biomechanical analysis.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The alveolar distractors obtained good healing with surrounding tissue. The atrophy alveolar bones were augmented for (4.80±0.50) mm and (5.12±0.47) mm by clinical and radiographic findings immediately after distraction, respectively. The bone trabeculae in the distracted chamber matured from 1 to 3 months of consolidation by histological analysis. The shearing force of alveolar distraction chamber increased from 1 to 3 months. After 3 months’ consolidation, the shearing force of distracted chamber was comparable to host bone. The histological and biomechanical property of distracted alveolar chamber is comparable to host bone after 3 months’ consolidation.
7.Survey of rescue posttraumatic growth of 424 Chinese people's armed forces soldiers

Objective To explore the status and influencing factors of the rescue posttraumatic growth of Chinese people' s armed forces soldiers in order to provide a new point of view for psychological intervention.Methods 424 soldiers who had executed earthquake rescue task were assessed with Posttraumatic Growth Inventory (PTGI),and the growth status between different groups were compared.Results (1) The average score of PTGI 21 items ranged from 2.72-3.72,and the score of most items were above 3,which implied the growth degree was between middle change and more change.8 items with highest score were focused on three dimensions which were labeled interpersonal relationship,appreciation of life and personal strength.(2) There was no significant difference between the total score of different rank groups (F=0.885,P>0.05),which score were 3.43±0.66,3.50±0.62,3.50±0.79,3.30±1.11 respectively.The was significant difference in 4 dimensions and total score of PTGI between the group which had executed rescue task for more than 14 days and the other which had executed rescue task for less than 14 days,and the scores of the group which had executed rescue task for more than 14 days were higher (P<0.05 or 0.01).Conclusion Almost all rescue soldiers perceives mental growth,such as the changes of interpersonal relationship,attitude of life,and personal strength particularly.The duration of rescue task might be a influencing factor of posttraumatic growth.
8.Association of polymorphisms of estrogen receptor-? and vitamin D receptor genes with peak bone mass in Shanghai women

Objective To investigate the association of estrogen receptor-? (ER-?) and vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphisms with peak bone mass in Shanghai women. Methods The ER-? PvuⅡ and XbaⅠ genotypes and VDR ApaⅠ genotypes were determined by PCR-RFLP in 515 unrelated healthy women aged 19-40 years of Han nationality in Shanghai. Bone mineral density (BMD) was measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry. Results Frequencies of ER-? PvuⅡ genotype PP, Pp and pp were 13.2%, 49.3% and 37.5% respectively. Frequencies of ER-? XbaⅠ genotype XX, Xx and xx were 4.7%, 40.4% and 54.9% respectively. Frequencies of VDR ApaⅠ genotype AA, Aa and aa were 5.8%, 41.9% and 52.3% respectively. Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was evident for both ER-? and VDR gene polymorphisms. No association was found between ER-? PvuⅡ and XbaⅠ genotypes and BMD of various sites in women. Only a significant association was found between VDR ApaⅠ genotype and BMD at L 1-4(P

Objective To investigate the clinical significance and changes of serum interleukin-4 (IL-4),interferon-γ(IFN-γ) and immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels in infants with spasmodic laryngitis.Methods Serum samples were obtained from 50 children with spasmodic laryngitis and 30 healthy children.The changes of IL-4,IFN-γand IgE levels in serum when hospital admission (acute stage),before discharge (the stage of clinical symptom disappeared) and after 2 months of follow-up were observed.Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to determine the levels of IL-4 and IFN-γ in serum.Serum IgE level was determined with enzyme-linked fluoroimmuneassay.Results The serum level of IL-4 in patients with spasmodic laryngitis during acute stage were much higher than that in normal control group[(20.65 ±5.87) ng/L vs(8.23 ±2.71) ng/L,t =5.536,P <0.05].It was decreased during the stage of clinical symptom disappeared and significantly lower than that during acute stage[(11.07 ± 2.93) ng/L vs (20.65 ± 5.87) ng/L,F =5.258,P < 0.05].The serum level of IFN-γ in patients with spasmodic laryngitis during acute stage were much lower than that in normal control group[(61.38 ±6.36) ng/L vs (108.42 ± 13.56) ng/L,t =4.831,P < 0.05],and it was increased during the stage of clinical symptom disappeared [(95.12 ± 11.63) ng/L] and significantly higher than that during acute stage(F =4.239,P < 0.05).There was no difference between the patients at clinical symptom disappeared stage and normal control group (P > 0.05).Two months after discharge,there was no difference in serum INF-γlevel between the patients [(75.68 ±6.29) ng/L] and that in control group (P > 0.05).The serum level of IgE in patients with spasmodic laryngitis during acute stage were much higher than that in normal control group [(136.63 ± 17.86) ng/L vs (47.16 ± 6.83) ng/L,t =6.685,P < 0.05].It was decreased during the stage of clinical symptom disappeared [(88.07 ± 11.83) μg/L] and significantly lower than that during acute stage(F =5.182,P < 0.05),but higher than that of normal control group (P < 0.05).Two months after discharge [(86.72 ± 7.25) μg/L] it was still higher than that in control group (P < 0.05).Conclusions There is TH1/TH2 imbalance in infants with spasmodic laryngitis.Maybe spasmodic laryngitis is one of the clinical manifestations of atopic diseases.IL-4,IFN-γand IgE may play important roles in immunologic pathogenesis.
