1.Efficacy of ultra-short-acting β-blocker on cardiac ischemia in patients with serious coronary lesions

Objective: To explore the efficacy of esmolol on cardiac ischemia in patients with serious coronary lesions who are not candidates for coronary revascularizations. Methods: Fifty seven aged patients (34 male) with serious coronary artery disease not candidates for coronary revascularizations were included. All patients had classical angina involved in cardiac ischemia, and definitely ischemic ST-segment depressions in surface electrocardiogram, however which were not relieved by routine treatment including intravenous nitrate or even morphine. All patients received loading dose injection and continuously intravenous infusion of Esmolol, and the baseline characteristics before treatment and the effects at 4 hours after infusion of Esmolol were carefully recorded. Results: After infusion of Esmolol, the ischemia-related symptoms of 41 patients completely relieved, and their ST depressions recovered to the baseline accompanied with significant reduction in blood pressure and heart rate (P<0.0001 all) within (66±23) min. Moreover, nine patients were observed that their ischemia-related symptoms were relieved and ST alteration recovered partially (P<0.0001 both) at four h after continuous infusion of esmolol. Conclusion: Esmolol is effective to relieve the serious cardiac ischemia-related symptoms and ST-T alteration of ECG in patients with serious coronary lesions.
2.DNA damage of bone marrow cells in mice induced by radon exposure

Objective To study the DNA damage of bone marrow cells of mice after exposure to Radon.Methods Twenty-four mice were randomly divided into four groups, one control group and three experimental groups with the cumulative doses of radon at 27 WLM (low dose group), 52 WLM (middle dose group) and 105 WLM ( high dose group). DNA damage induced by radon in bone marrow of mice was detected by methods of single cell gel electrophoresis (SCGE), micronucleus(MN) and laser scanning confocal microscope (LSCM) observation. Results The DNA strand breakage, rate of MN and apoptosis increased significantly in the high dose group, but not in the middle and low dose groups. Conclusions Exposure to radon could induce DNA damage in bone marrow cells of mice at high levels.
3.Construction of shRNA targeting AGR2 gene and effect of AGR2 on bio-logical function of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells

AIM: To construct the shRNA targeting anterior gradient protein 2 (AGR2) gene for exploring the effect of AGR2 on the biological behavior of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells.METHODS: The expression of AGR2 at mRNA and protein levels in NPC cell lines 6-10B and 5-8F was detected by real-time PCR and Western blot.The pSR-GFP/Neo-AGR2-shRNA expression vector targeting AGR2 was constructed.Based on the interference targeting AGR2, the cell migration and motility were determined by Transwell migration and motility assays.RESULTS: The expression of AGR2 was increased in NPC cell line 5-8F compared with NPC cell line 6-10B (P <0.05).When the AGR2 expression in 5-8F cells was interfered, the cell migration, invasion and tumorigenicity were weakened.CONCLUSION: The expres-sion of AGR2 is up-regulated in NPC cell line 5-8F.pSR-GFP/Neo-CLU-shRNA successfully inhibits the expression of AGR2 in NPC cell line 5-8F.AGR2 inhibits the migration, invasion and tumorigenicity of 5-8F cells in vivo.
4.Identification of suppressive oligodeoxynucleotide existed in DNA sequence encoding Schistosoma japonicum 22.6 kDa antigen

Objective To identify the possible existing suppressive oligodeoxynucleotides(ODNs)in the DNA sequence which encodes Schistosoma japonicum 22.6 kDa(Sj22.6)antigen.Methods Several ODNs within the DNA sequence encoding Sj22.6 antigen were synthesized.Splenocytes separated from mice were stimulated with optimal immunostimulatory CpG 1826 in the absence or presence of different synthetical ODNs.The suppressive efficacy of each ODN was examined by 3H-TdR incorporation.Results ODN F311 suppressed the proliferation of splenocytes caused by CpG 1826 stimulation.The significant suppression was observed when ODN F311∶CpG 1826 at a ratio of 1∶1 and 3∶1,the suppression reached 11% and 58% respectively.The maximal inhibition was observed when ODN F311 was pre-administered with CpG ODN for 2 h.Conclusions Certain suppressive ODN exists in the DNA sequence encoding Sj22.6 antigen,and this effect shows dose-and time-dependent manner.
5.Myocardial perfusion abnormalities in patients with isolated left ventricular noncompaction

Objective To investigate the myocardial perfusion abnormalities in patients with isolated left ventricular noncompaction (ILVNC) and analyze the correlation between MPI and MRI.Methods Nineteen patients (14 males,5 females,age range:15-76 years) with ILVNC diagnosed by cardiac MRI were recruited.All patients underwent 99Tcm-MIBI MPI.Both MPI and cardiac MRI were analyzed using a 17-segment model.The thickness ratio of the non-compacted to compacted layers of myocardium (NC/C) was calculated,and segments with NC/C>2.3 were considered as noncompaction.The incidences of delayed enhancement (DE) and myocardial perfusion abnormalities in non-compacted segments and compacted segments were calculated.x2 test was used for categorical data.The Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficient were used to assess the relationship between the numbers of myocardial segments with myocardial perfusion abnormalities/noncompaction/DE and lgLVEF.Results Of 19 patients,myocardial perfusion abnormality was found in 16 (84.2%) patients.The incidences of perfusion abnormality were 33.6% (36/107) in non-compacted segments and 31.9% (69/216) in compacted segments,respectively (x2=0.09,P>0.05).There were 31 segments with DE.The incidences of DE were 5.6% (6/107) in non-compacted segments and 11.6% (25/216) in compacted segments,respectively (x2 =2.94,P>0.05).The incidence of reduced perfusion was higher in segments with DE than those in segments without DE (54.8% (17/31) vs 30.1% (88/292) ; x2 =7.80,P<0.01).The lgLVEF and the numbers of myocardial segments with noncompaction/DE/myocardial perfusion abnormalities were not correlated(r=-0.35,0.15,-0.34,all P>0.05).Conclusion Most patients with ILVNC have myocardial perfusion abnormality,which can be observed both in non-compacted and compacted myocardium.Further research is required to elucidate the role of myocardial perfusion abnormality in ILVNC.

Molecularly imprinted electrochemiluminescence method combines the advantageous properties of molecularly imprinted polymer and electrochemiluminescence, such as high sensitivity, good selectivity, good controllability, easy miniaturization and simple operation. In recent years, molecularly imprinted electrochemiluminescence has received much attention in the fields of biomimetic sensors, hazardous pesticide residue detection, and food safety monitoring, etc. In this review, the research progresses of molecularly imprinting electrochemiluminescence sensors and the applications of molecularly imprinted polymers as solid phase extraction matrices in electrochemiluminescence analysis have been summarized, and the future research trends have been proposed.
7.Study on antibiotic resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae in Nanning for 5 years

Objective To study the antibiotic resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae and the prevalence of penicillinase-producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae (PPNG) and high-level tetracycline resistant Neisseria gonorrhoeae (TRNG) in Nanning. Methods Minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) were determined by agar dilution method and ?-lactamase production was comfirmed by acidometric method.Results Among 458 strains, 33 strains(7.20%) were found to be PPNG and 231 strains(50.44%) were TRNG. The resistance rate to ciprofloxacin, ceftriaxone and spectinomycin were 87.33%, 1.31% and 0.22% respectively. Conclusion The situation of resistance to ciprofloxacin was very serious, and it was also found that a few of gonococcal isolates were resistant to ceftriaxone and spectinomycin. The study showed that it is important to successively survey the antibiotic resistance of Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
8.Association Rules of Chinese Herbal Compound Formula for Osteoporosis

OBJECTIVE:To discuss the medication regularity of Chinese herbal compound formula for osteoporosis. METHODS:A total of 104 Chinese herbal compound formula for osteoporosis (OP) published from 1995 to 2005 were retrieved from China Hospital Knowledge Database(CHKD); and a database was set up using EXCEL2000 software,with the drug name of each herbal medicine in the compound herbal formula included and a statistical analysis was carried out.The herbs which were used frequently were subjected to data mining and analysis using association rules. RESULTS:Of the total 104 Chinese herbal compound formula for osteoporosis,leading the first 12 places in terms of application frequency in turn were prepared Rehmannia glutinosa,Herba Epimedii,Dioscorea opposita and Eucommia ulmoides,etc.In the association rule set,there were respectively 7,6,6 and 8 rules which respectively consisted of 2,3,4 and(5,6,7) herbs.CONCLUSION:The relationship between the three factors(renal deficiency,splenic asthenia,and blood deficiency) and osteoporosis were verified in the study of the Chinese herbal compound formula for osteoporosis.
9.Protection of Tongxinluo Against Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury Relates to Enhancing Endothelial Barrier in Diabetic Rats

Objective: To clarify that protection of Tongxinluo against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury relates to enhancing endothelial barrier in diabetic rats.
Methods: A total of 32 Zucker diabetic rats were randomized into 4 groups:Sham group, Model group, Insulin group and Tongxinluo group, n=8 in each group. In addition, there was a Control group containing 8 non-diabetic Zucker rats. Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury model was established by a 45-min ischemia and 3-h reperfusion protocol. The size of infarction was detected by pathological staining, the microvascular permeability was examined by Miles assay to obtain the lfuorescein isothiocyanate concentration in myocardial tissue, the Triton X-100 soluble and insoluble VE-cadherin was measured by membrane protein extraction and western blot analysis.
Results:The size of infarction in Model group was obviously higher than that in Control group (55.2 ± 1.4)%vs (36.2± 1.3)%,P<0.05 and the lfuorescein isothiocyanate concentration was also higher in Model group than Control group. Both insulin group and Tongxinluo group had the similar size of infarction with Model group (36.8 ± 1.2)%vs (38.7 ± 1.1)%, P>0.05. Both insulin group and Tongxinluo group got lower lfuorescein isothiocyanate concentration (all P<0.01) and VE-cadherin internalization (all P<0.05) than that in Model group.
Conclusion: Protection of Tongxinluo against myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury in diabetic rats is as effective as
insulin, but the effect is independent of reducing blood glucose and may be related to enhancing endothelial barrier.
10.In-hospital Reperfusion and Secondary Preventive Drug Therapy for ST-segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction Patients in Provincial, City and County Hospitals of China

Objective:To investigate reperfusion and secondary preventive drug therapy for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients in provincial, city and county levels hospitals of China.
Methods:A total of 18,967 STEMI patients within 7 days of symptom onset from 2013-01-01 to 2014-09-30 were enrolled by China acute myocardial infarction (CAMI) registry study group from 107 hospitals covering 31 provinces/autonomous regions, cities and counties in China;223 patients were excluded for key information missing. Demographic data, reperfusion as primary percutaneous coronary intervention (pPCI), thrombolytic therapy (TT) and secondary preventive drug therapy as aspirin, P2Y12 inhibitors, statins,β-blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor (ACEI)/angiotensin receptor antagonist (ARB) were analyzed and compared among 3 levels of hospitals.
Results:There were 9,885/18,744 (52.7%) patients received reperfusion including 8,038 (42.9%) pPCI and 1,847 (9.9%) TT. Reperfusion rate in provincial hospital (61.8%, 4041/6537) was higher than city hospital (49.1%, 4728/9625) and county hospital (43.2%, 1116/2582), P<0.001;reperfusion type was distinctive among 3 levels of hospitals, for provincial hospital:pPCI was performed in 3,840 (58.7%), TT in 201(3.07%) patients;for city hospital:pPCI in 3,753 (39.0%), TT in 975 (10.1%) patients;for county hospital:pPCI in 445 (17.2%), TT in 671 (26.0%) patients. 12,502 patients arrived hospital within 12 h of symptom onset and 8,835 (70.8%) of them received reperfusion including 7089 (56.7%) patients with pPCI and 1,746 (14.1%) with TT. 3537 (80%) patients received reperfusion in provincial hospital, 4272 (67.5%) in city hospital and 1045 (59.8%) in county hospital, P<0.001.The in-hospital application of statins was in 16,575 (90.9%) patients, aspirin was 17,963 (96.8%), P2Y12 inhibitors was 17,922 (96.5%),β-blockers was 12,657 (68.2%) and ACEI/ARB was 10,541 (56.8%) respectively;the therapeutic condition was similar among 3 levels of hospitals.
Conclusion:In CAMI Registry, 70.8%arrived hospital within12 h of symptom onset had been treated by reperfusion therapy in China; the reperfusion rate in county hospital was obviously lower. The secondary preventive drug therapy condition was similar among 3 levels of hospitals.
