Objective To investigate the relationship between systemic lupus erythematosus and Epstein-Barr virus infection. Methods Expression of EBV-DNA was detected by fluorescent quantitative PCR assay in SLE patients (n=40) and normal control individuals (n=40). Results EBV-DNA in 11 were positive of the 40 patients and 3 were positive of the 40 normal control individual, and there was significant different(P

Objective To explore the protective effect of resveratrol against oxidative damage to cultivated fibroblasts irradiated with UVB. Methods Fibroblasts from normal human skin cultured in vitro were divided into 5 groups (a normal control group, a group irradiated with UVB, a group treated with resveratrol before UVB irradiation, and a group treated after irradiation). A monolayer of fibroblasts was irradiated with UVB at 60 mJ/cm2. The vitality of the cells was measured using the methylthiazol tetrazolium (MTT) method. The activity of superoxide dis-mutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) content were determined using enzyme biochemistry. Results Resveratrol over 100 μM inhibited the proliferation of fibroblasts. Resveratrol under 100 μM improved the proliferation of cells. The optimal concentration was 50 μM. UVB irradiation decreased the vitality of the cells and SOD activity, and it significantly enhanced MDA content. Conclusions Resveratrol treatment before or after UVB irradiation elevates the survival rate of fibroblasts, enhances the activity of SOD, and decreases MDA content. Resveratrol at low concentration could improve the proliferation of fibroblasts, and at high concentration could inhibit their proliferation. Res-veratol at 50 μM relieves the inhibited proliferation of fibroblasts damaged by UVB irradiation.

Surgical excision and postoperative radiotherapy are widely accepted therapeutic modalities for sinonasal teratocarcinosarcoma (SNTCS). Previous studies have shown that intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) is safe and effective for the treatment of some sinonasal malignancies. We hypothesize that use of IMRT for SNTCS may result in clinical benefits. We report here two cases of SNTCS that were treated by IMRT. One patient was given extensive IMRT involving elective neck irradiation. Follow-up examinations revealed no recurrence and metastasis 3.5 years after IMRT. Another patient simultaneously suffered from multiple systematical diseases and was administered involved-field radiotherapy. He was found to have a marginal recurrence during the follow up and eventually died 8 months after disease diagnosis. It was suggested in this study that appropriate use of IMRT for the treatment of SNTCS may achieve excellent local control.

Objective To describe common dermoscopic features of primary cutaneous amyloidosis (PCA),and to explore the application value of dermoscopy in assisting the diagnosis of PCA.Methods Seventeen patients with PCA were collected from Department of Dermatology of Peking Union Medical College Hospital between April 2014 and December 2016.A total of 45 skin lesions were subjected to dermoscopy, and their dermoscopic features were analyzed. Results The common dermoscopic features of PCA included central hubs, which could be white, brown or scar-like areas, various pigment structures and shiny white streaks.Dermoscopy showed that central hubs could be observed in all the lesions (100%),while white center hubs alone were observed in 14 (31%) lichenoid lesions, both white center hubs and scar -like areas in 5 (11%) lichenoid lesions, brown center hubs alone in 8 (18%) macular lesions, both white and brown center hubs in 6 (13%) lichenoid lesions and 17 (38%) macular lesions. All the lesions showed various pigment structures.Shiny white streaks were observed in 4 (9%) lichenoid lesions. Conclusion Dermoscopy has good application value in assisting the diagnosis of PCA.

Objective To evaluate the predictive effect of Braden scale for the risk of development of pressure ulcers (PU) in the department of neurology bedridden patients and to explore subgroup preventive measures. Methods 400 cases newly hospitalized bedridden patients in the department of neurology were collected with no pressure ulcers at the first evaluation and pressure ulcer risk was continuously predicted by a Braden scale skin assessment. The high-risk, middle-risk and low-risk groups were randomized into the experimental group and the control group respectively. Routine preventive measures were taken for the control group while the air fluidized bed for the high-risk group, the sponge mattress for the middle-riskgroup, and turning the body over every 4 hours for low-risk group. Other preventive procedures were undertaken simultaneously in beth the experimental and the control groups. Results The area under the ROC curve (AUC)was 0.771 and 0.828 at the first and last time Braden scale scores respectively. Such vMues as sensitiveness, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value were found in higher level, when the diagnosis value was 17. There was no significant difference of incidence rate of the subgroup pressure ulcers between the high-risk, middle-risk, low-risk groups compared to the control group. Conclusions The effect of predicting pressure ulcer risk for bedridden patients in the department of neurology with Braden scale was fairly good, while the score 17 as the diagnosis value was ideal. The air fluidized bed for the high-risk group and the sponge mattress for the middle-risk group resulted in no significant decrease of incidence rate of the pressure ulcer, while taming over the patients' body every 4 hours for low-risk groups showed acceptable and therefore saving medical resources.

Objective To develop the satisfaction scale on built environment of hygienic city initiative and to evaluate its reliability and validity. Methods By using the qualitative research methods including policy analysis, expert consultation, personal interviews, and quantitative method with statistical analysis, the content of the scale was finally determined.Principal component analysis of exploratory factor analysis was used to construct the dimensions of the scales. The reliability and validity of the scales were evaluated with internal consistency reliability,split-half reliability, content validity, surface validity, and structural validity evaluation methods. Results A satisfaction evaluation scale comprising of 4 dimensions and 20 items was established. The Cronbach's α coefficient of the satisfaction evaluation scale was 0.91,and the Spearman-Brown splitting coefficients of the scale was 0.851.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that all test values were in the standard range, which means that content validity of the scale was good. Conclusion The satisfaction scale on the built environment of hygienic city initiative developed in this study has a good reliability and validity. The practical verification of the scale need to be carried out to further explore the applicability of the scale.

OBJECTIVEThe interrelation of yield and agronomic traits of Gentiana rigescens was studied for the germplasm and breeding variety of this species.
METHODTwelve agronomic traits, root diameter, root length, root number, root biomass, stem diameter, plant height, the first branch number, leaf length, leaf width, leaf length/leaf width ratio, calyx length, and calyx number of G. rigescens from 26 wild populations in Yunnan were determined for correlation analysis, multiple stepwise regression analysis and path analysis.
RESULTCorrelation analysis showed that there were significantly positive correlation between the traits of aboveground part and the length, diameter, number, and biomass of the root. Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that length, width, and number of root, plant height, the first branch number, and the calyx number were the main factors that affected the root biomass. Path analysis showed that the diameter, length, and number of the root, the stem height, and the first branch number had a direct positive effect on the root biomass.
CONCLUSIONThe traits, such as high and strong stem, high number of first branch number and shrubby shape could be selected for the breeding and high yielding of G. rigescens.
