1.Application of SBAR for nurse students morning rounds in operation room

Objective To identify the effect of SBAR (situation, background, assessment, recom-mendation) in OR (operating room)nursing teaching rounds. Methods According to internship turns, rou-tine group (even number, Group A:68 students) and SBAR group (odd number, Group B:70 students) were chosen by drawing lots. Group A used conventional mode for history report, while Group B used SBAR mode. Students' performance was evaluated by OR nurse students' rounds standard scale and the reporting time was recorded. Each nurse students filled in Communication Self-efficacy Evaluation Form on the fifth week in OR. The information was input into excel. The results of the two groups were compared with SPSS 11, and the data were analyzed by chi square test and t test. Results The average reporting quality score was 16.74 for Group A, and 18.66 for Group B. The average score of Group B was higher than that of Group A. Compared with the cases scores above 18 between the two groups, the result was statistically significant, P=0.039. The average score of communication Self-efficacy in Group A was 42.88, while it was 44.94 in Group B, which showed that Group B had better score than that of Group A. Significant differences was found between the two groups when compared the cases with score above 45, P=0.010. The average reporting time was (2.42±1.16) minutes for Group A and (2.32±1.21) for Group B, and there is no significant differences between the 2 groups. Conclusion SBAR is helpful for improving students communication Self-efficacy, and making progress on nursing round reporting quality,and it is worth promoting in clinical teaching.
2.Dietary Behaviors Associated with Health Perception of Korean Adolescents from Multicultural Families: based on data from the 2017 ~ 2019 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Surveys

Objectives:
This study examined the association between dietary behaviors and perceived health status among Korean adolescents from multicultural families.
Methods:
This cross-sectional study included 2,459 Korean adolescents from multicultural families (aged 13 ~ 18 years) who participated in the 2017 ~ 2019 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Surveys. Information on the sociodemographic variables, dietary behaviors, and lifestyle variables was selfreported using a web-based questionnaire. The dietary behaviors analyzed in this study were the breakfast and food intake frequencies, including fruit, vegetable, milk, fast food, carbonated drink, sweet drink, and high caffeine/energy drinks. The adolescents’ health perception was self-rated as healthy, average, or unhealthy. The dietary behaviors associated with health perception were examined using a multiple logistic regression after adjusting for the confounding variables.
Results:
In this study population, 7.6% of adolescents perceived their health status as unhealthy, and 25.4% perceived it as average. The adolescents who were girls, middle school students, and in households with a low economic status showed significantly higher percentages of poor health perception (P-values < 0.001). Skipping breakfast was significantly associated with a negative health perception. Compared to the adolescents who consumed fruits every day, those who did not consume fruits during the previous week showed a higher odd ratio (OR) for a negative health perception [OR = 2.29, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.32–3.97]. The adolescents who frequently consumed carbonated drinks ( 5 times/week) perceived their health status as unhealthy relative to those who did not consume carbonated drinks (OR = 2.15, 95% CI = 1.25–3.71). Skipping breakfast was significantly associated with an increased OR for a negative health perception in girls but not in boys. Compared to adolescents with a normal weight, those with overweight/ obesity (OR = 1.75, 95% CI = 1.21–2.52) and underweight (OR = 2.19, 95% CI = 1.25–3.82) showed higher ORs for negative health perception. Positive associations of overweight/obesity and underweight with negative health perception were observed in boys but not in girls.
Conclusions
Dietary behaviors and weight status were associated with the health perception in Korean adolescents from multicultural families. These findings suggest that nutrition interventions on breakfast intake and healthy food choices for this population might effectively improve their weight and perceived health status.
3.Qualitative and quantitative analysis of flavonoids in Chinese hawthorn fruit.

OBJECTIVETo develop an LC-MS method for identification of flavonoids in Chinese hawthorn fruits and an HPLC method for quantification of 5 flavonoids.
METHODAccurate molecular weights of the target flavonoids were acquired by time-of-flight mass spectrometer (TOF-MS) in both positive and negative ion modes. The flavoniods were then further confirmed by standards. An RP-HPLC method was established to quantitatively analysis five major flavonoids (chlorogenic acid, procyanidin B2, epicatechin, hyperoside and isoquercitrin) in hawthorn fruits from ten different regions.
RESULTSThe molecular formulae of 8 components were determined by TOF-MS. In the quantitative method validation, the method is linear over the studied range of 1.8-178.5, 2.2-284.8, 2.7-270. 6,1.5-150.0, 1.5-150.0 mg x L(-1) for chlorogenic acid, procyanidin B2, epicatechin, hyperoside and isoquercitrin, respectively. The correlation coefficient for each analyze was greater than 0.999. The inter-day precision of the analysis was lower than 4%, The RSDs of precision and stability were lower than 5%. The recovery rate was from 98.5% to 102.5%, and RSDs were less than 3.5%.
CONCLUSIONThe method is simple, specific and reliable, and is suitable for quality control of Chinese hawthorn.

4.Status of screening myopia among primary and middle school students in Linfen Community of Shanghai from 2019 to 2023

Objective:
To analyze the prevalence and trend of screening myopia among primary and middle school students in Linfen Community of Shanghai from 2019 to 2023, so as to provide a reference for the prevention and control of myopia from the perspective of the community.
Methods:
From 2019 to 2023, all primary(5) and middle(2) school students aged 6-15 years in Linfen Community of Shanghai were screened. Statistical analysis was performed using the Chi square test and trend Chi square test. The curve fitting model was used to fit the model of the increase rate of screening myopia among primary and middle school students in 2019, 2021 and 2023.
Results:
The overall rate of screening myopia among primary and middle school students in Linfen community from 2019 to 2023 was 55.17%. The prevalence rate of screening myopia was 79.43% in boys and 81.92% in girls in middle school, and the difference was statistically significant ( χ 2=5.71, P =0.02). In 2019, 2021, and 2023, the peak age of screening myopia among primary and middle school students in Linfen Community gradually occurred earlier, at the age of 7(12.13%), 6( 12.28 %), and 6(14.99%) years old, respectively. The growth rate of screening myopia in students aged 8-12 years in 2023 was lower than that in 2019 and 2021.
Conclusions
The screening myopia rate of primary and middle school students aged 6-15 years in Linfen Community is relatively high, with primary school girls higher than boys, and growth spurt accelerates. It is suggested that prevention and control of myopia in the community should focus on preschool children and adolescent girls.
