Objective To discuss the diagnostic value of detecting plasma vitamin B12 and Homocysteine (Hcy) in subacute combined degeneration of the spinal cord (SCD).Methods Parents of SCD (n=29) and subjects (n=74) without spinal cord diseases were enrolled from the clinic of Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital from April 2014 to July 2016.The plasma vitamin B12 and Hcy concentrations were detected using Chemiluminescence Immunoassay (CLIA) and enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay (ELISA) respectively,and compared using chi-square between the SCD and control groups.Sensitivity rate,specific rate,and diagnose accordance rate were evaluated.Results The plasma homocysteine and vitamin B12 concentrations in SCD and control groups were 49.41 μmol/L vs 12.36 μmol/L,44.35 pg/ml vs 166.75 pg/ml,with significant differences (U=343.50,800.00,P＜0.05).Negative correlation existed between the concentrations of vitamin B12 and Hey (r=-0.248,P=0.012).The sensitivity rates of vitamin B12 and Hcy detections were 55.2％ vs 89.7％,which had significant differences (x2 =8.631,P=0.003),and the diagnose accordance rate (69.9％ vs 64.1％) of the former was higher (x2 =4.175,P=0.041).Conclusion The plasma Hcy and vitamin B12 concentration detections had definite diagnostic value in SCD,and Hcy had higher sensitive rate,which can improve the diagnostic rate of SCD in the early stage.

This study examined the effect of resveratrol on the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and subsequent proliferation of human leukemia U937 cells, and explored the mechanisms involved. Human leukemia U937 cells were treated with resveratrol of different concentrations (12.5-200 micromol/L) for different time lengths (12-48 h). The proliferation of the U937 leukemic cells was determined by MTT assay. Apoptosis was observed by Annexin-V-FIFC/PI double staining and flow cytometry (FCM). Cells cycle was analyzed by PI staining and FCM. The content of VEGF was determined by ELISA. Human umbilical vein endothelial cells were examined for vasoformation in vitro after exposures to resveratrol of various concentrations. The results showed that resveratrol inhibited the proliferation of U937 leukemia cells in a dose-and time-dependent manner. Resveratrol induced apoptosis and S-phase cell cycle arrest in human leukemic U937 cells. Resveratrol inhibited the secretion of VEGF in U937 cells. Resveratrol inhibited the vasoformation of human vein endothelial cells in a dose-dependent manner. It was concluded that resveratrol could down-regulate the secretion of VEGF, induce apoptosis and suppress the proliferation of U937 cells.

Objective To establish the quality standard for Guishao Zhenxian Tablets. Methods Radix Glycyrrhizae,Radix Codonopsis,Radix Bupleuri were identified by TLC. The content of paeoniflorin in the preparation was determined by HPLC. Results The spots of TLC color spectrum were distinct and there was nointerference from the negative control. The calibration curve was linear over the concentration range of 0.245 2～0.735 6 ?g for paeoniflorin (r=0.999 7) and the average recovery was 98.3%,RSD=1.52% (n=5). Conclusion The established quality standard is convenient and reliable,and can be used to control the quality of Guishao Zhenxian Tablets more effectively.

Syndromes constitute a core aspect in the study of Chinese medicine, and research on the concept of syndromes is important to the study of the process of modernization of traditional Chinese medicine. However, it is somewhat challenging to define a syndrome due to the complexity inherent in the subject, even with the assistance of the reductionism approach of modern medicine. Holistic and dynamic in nature and attaching much importance to functional changes, the newly emerging metabonomics is in many ways inline with the concepts of syndrome differentiation of pathological states in traditional Chinese medicine. Therefore, metabonomics has comparatively strong advantages in the very respect of revealing the natural laws of syndrome differentiation. By reviewing and analyzing the current research on the concept of syndromes and the application of metabonomic technology to exploring the essential core of syndrome differentiation, the authors illustrated the potential commonalities. This would also show the issues requiring attention between the study of syndromes and the metabonomic technology. In the meantime this study reflected the core problems in detail and put forward suggestions with regard to reaching solutions.

Objective To explore serum Cystain C (Cys C) level in chronic heart failure (CHF) patients and its relation?ship with cardiac function and ventricular remodeling. Methods Patients with heart failure (n=75) and healthy adult (n=35) were enrolled in this study. According to the NYHA classification,CHF patients is divided into NYHA Ⅱ, NYHAⅢand NYHAⅣ;CHF patients can also be divided into 2 groups base on their level of serum Cys C:Cys C>0.95 mg/L is defined as elevated serum Cys C group, serum Cys C≤0.95 mg/L is defined as normal serum Cys C group;According to left ventricu?lar ejection fraction (LVEF), CHF patients can also be divided into 2 groups:LVEF≥0.50 is defined as ejection fraction re?served group, LVEF<0.50 is defined as the ejection fraction reduced group. Cys C, N terminal B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), serum creatinine(Scr),UREA and Echocardiography were analyzed in all groups and their correlation was studied. Results Serum Cys C level in CHF patients was obviously higher than that in healthy controls, and it increased with NYHA heart function classification;compared with normal Cys C group,Cys C elevated group presented higher NT-proBNP level but lower eGFR and LVEF (P<0.05);compared with ejection fraction reduced group, ejection fraction reserved group demonstrated lower NT-proBNP, LVEDD, LVMI and Cys C levels (all P<0.05);Correlation analysis revealed that Cys C is correlated with age, NT-proBNP, LVEF, LVEDD, Scr and UREA (r=0.411, 0.658, 0.465, 0.310, 0.552, 0.486, P<0.01). Conclusion Serum Cys C can be used to evaluate cardiac function of heart failure, and is associated with ventricular remodeling.

In this study, by using the method of literature research, 35 prescriptions related to asthma therapy has been screened out from Hui medicine through collecting the ancient and modern literature. A comparison of fragrant medicine between the name in Arab and Chinese herbal medicine is done. The countif function in Microsoft Excel 2007 is used to get the prescriptions of the drug on the frequency statistics, summarizing the common drugs of Hui medicine for asthma are Pinellia, almond, white sugar, walnut. According to the commonly used drugs, the pathogeny and treatment principle about Hui medicine for asthma is preliminarily inferred combining literature research and the related Hui medical theory. In this study, those prescriptions have been classified into 21 cases which are effective and can be used in medical therapy according to the relevant literatures with the development of the Hui people in their long process of formation of the unique diet culture, 14 useful and convenient Halal diet therapies are made up according to the indications, therapies, party name and composition. Halal diet and "medicine and food" herbs are preliminarily analyzed and summarized, which can be convenient for the people to reduce pains through the diet and improve health awareness.

This study was designed to determine the effects of the recombinant adeno-associated virus vector containing sense CD151 gene (rAAV-CD151) and antisense CD151 gene (rAAV-antiCD151) on the migration of Tca8113 cell. Functional fragment of CD151 gene was amplified by RT-PCR, and inserted into the vector pAAV in the sense direction and antisense direction, respectively. The rAAV-CD151 and rAAV-antiCD151 were produced and the titers were determined by dot blot. The CD151, at protein level, was detected by Western blot. The Transwell chamber was used to detect the effects of the rAAV-CD151 and rAAV-antiCD151 on the tumor cell migration. The titers of the rAAV-CD151 and rAAV-antiCD151 were 2 x 10(11) pfu/ml and 1.0 x 10(11) pfu/ml, respectively. The expression of CD151 was increased by 108% in the cells transfected with rAAV-CD151 and decreased by 79% in the cells transfected with rAAV-antiCD151, as compared with non-transfected cells, respectively. The number of the migrating cells was significantly increased in the cells transfected with rAAV-CD151 (93.56 +/- 11.59) and decreased in the cells transfected with rAAV-antiCD151 (24.00 +/- 4.36) as compared with non-transfected and rAAV-GFP transfected cells (53.00 +/- 6.56 and 46.00 +/- 7.00, P<0.05). It is an important molecular mechanism of the tumor metastasis that the overexpression of CD151 promotes the migration of the tumor cells. The rAAV-antiCD151 is a novel tool, which can reduce the expression of CD151 and inhibit the migration of the tumor cells, and brings us a new approach of anti-sene gene therapy targeted at CD151 in human carcinoma.

OBJECTIVE:To provide suggestions for the government decision of payment price of medicare drugs. METHODS:Investigation was conducted for the beginning of payment price policy of medicare drugs,effect of the implementation of policy in other countries and the encountered problems. The payment pricing mechanism was explored based on the combination of new medi-cal reform with theoretical analysis and empirical research. RESULTS:The reform of payment pricing mechanism of medicare drugs will have effect on current drug price,especially for R&D oriented pharmaceutical industries. The policy can decrease drug expendi-ture in medicare expenditure,and it is not sure whether it can decrease total medicare expenditure. CONCLUSIONS:It is suggest-ed to notice the related measures and government should keep balance between drug availability and encouraging R&D innovation.
