International Eye Science 2014;(10):1889-1891
AIM: To retrospectively analyze the effect of different surgical treatment on intraocular foreign bodies, according to different types and position.
METHODS: Clinical data of 46 cases diagnosed with intraocular foreign bodies from June 2010 to April 2013 were retrospectively analyzed.
RESULTS:Intraocular foreign bodies in anterior segment could be removed or magnetically attracted directly, intraocular foreign bodies in posterior segment could be attracted if there was accurate location. Vitrectomis was more favorable for the non magnetic or intraocular foreign bodies in posterior segment. In 46 cases, all intraocular foreign bodies ( 100%) in posterior segment were removed successfully. Among them the functional cure in 33 cases ( 72%) , the anatomical cure in 12 cases ( 26%) , discharged in 1 case (2%).
CONCLUSION:The aim of operation is to reconstruct of eyeball structure preserve and restore visual function. We should find more appropriate mode of operation and timing of surgery according to the foreign bodies'different types and injury of eyeball, reduce complications, preservation eyeball and improve visual function.

Diversity-oriented synthesis (DOS) aims to efficiently generate collections of small molecules with diverse appendages, functional groups, stereochemistry and skeletons, thus yielding diverse biological activities capable of modulating a wide variety of biological processes. In this review, we discussed the common strategies employed in DOS with specific examples from recent literature, including reagent-based approach, substrate-based approach, build-couple-pair strategy and privileged substructure-based DOS. The application of some DOS libraries in drug discovery is also presented.

3.EFFECTS OF EXPERIMENTAL HYPERINSULINEMIA ON THE LEVELS OF THE MAIN APOLIPOPROTEINS AND ON THE PROCESS OF REVERSE CHOLESTEROL TRANSPORT IN RABBIT

Chinese Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism 1985;0(01):-
This paper presented the effects of experimental hyperinsulinemia on the main apolipoproteins (At, B) and on tbe process of reverse cholesterol transport in rabbit, which consisted of 1) uptake of cholesterol from peripheral tissue by HDL; 2) cholesterol esterification and 3) cholesterol ester transfer. The results showed that insulin could significantly decrease both serum and lymph Apo A1 levels and inhibit all the three steps of reverse cholesterol transport. The larger the dose of insulin, the greater the effects. Apo B did not seem to be influenced by insulin. It was further demonstrated by a series of statistical analyses that insulin had both direct and indirect inhibitory actions, to different extent, on each of the three main steps of reverse cholesterol transport.

Objective:To study the effect of increased expression of Fas on the killing of ? cells Methods:The level of Fas expression and apoptosis of human ? cells strain (NIT) were detected by FACS Results:There is no Fas expression on NIT But Fas expression can detected by culturing NIT with IFN ? and/or TNF ? The apoptosis of NIT induced by sFasL and anti Fas correlates with the level of Fas expression Conclusion:Fas expression induced by cytokine may represent a factor for the initiation of ? cells destruction

Objective To analyze the serum level of 25-hydroxy vitamin D [25-(OH) D] in pregnant women in Nanjing and its relationship with age, gestational week,pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and season,so as to provide some guidance on clinical application of vitamin D measurement and supplementation. Methods 880 pregnant women (in 21-36 gestational weeks) regularly visiting antenatal clinic in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University were selected from January to December 2015.Their serum 25-(OH)D concentrations were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results The mean serum 25-(OH) D concentration in these pregnant women was (42.03 ± 19.22) nmol/L and sufficient in only 42 (4.77%).Vitamin D levels showed seasonal variation (P =0.0164),with the levels in summer [(44.61 ±23.57) nmol/L] and autumn [(43.43 ± 19.31) nmol/L] being higher than spring [(39.68 ± 16.91) nmol/L] and winter [(39.65 ± 13.36) nmol/L].There was no statistically significant difference in serum vitamin D level among different gestational weeks (P =0.929 4).There was statistically significant difference in serum vitamin D level among different age groups (P =0.038 3).Vitamin D level was not associated with pre-pregnancy BMI.Conclusions Vitamin D deficiency is highly prevalent among pregnant women in Nanjing. We suggest vitamin D testing be carried out more actively.

Purpose To investigate the expression of insulin-like growth factorIImRNA binding protein 3 ( IMP3 ) and microvessel density (MVD) in squamous carcinoma of the cervix (SCC) and analysis their relationship in SCC. Methods The expression of IMP3 and MVD was examined by immunohistochemistry SP method in normal cervical epithelium ( NCE) , low-grade cervical intraepi-thelial neoplasia (CIN-L), high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN-H) and SCC. Results (1)The positive expression rates of IMP3 in NCE, CIN-L, CIN-H, SCC tissues were 0(0/15), 0(0/11), 37.5%(9/24) and 86.0%(43/50), the difference was statistically significant (x 2 =53.345, P=0.000). IMP3 expression was significant difference among NCE and CIN-H, SCC (P<0.008 3), and that was also among SCC and CIN-L, CIN-H (P<0.008 3). (2)The MVD count was increased with the development of cervical squamous lesion, there was significant difference among those groups (F=145.968, P<0.01), and the difference was al-so statistically significant between every two groups (P<0.05). The positive expression of IMP3 and MVD count in 50 cases of SCC tissues showed statistical difference in different pathologic grade, lymph node metastasis, and depth of tumor invasion groups ( P<0.05), but didn't in different patients’age groups (P>0.05). And the positive expression of IMP3 was closely related with MVD count in SCC tissues (rs =0.323, P<0.05). Conclusion IMP3 plays an important role in the occurrence, infiltration and metasta-sis of SCC, and the abnormal expression of IMP3 may relate with the angiogenesis of tumors.
