Objective To analyze the characteristics of the Chinese Medical Equipment Journal's articles and authors as well as their spatial & temporal distribution, and then put forward some advices for the development of the journal. Methods 4 434 articles of the journal from 2002 to 2008 were sampled for bibliometrics analysis from the aspects of column, author, region, organization, publishing delay and foundation support. Results With an abundant manuscript source mostly from the developed areas such as Beijing,Guangdong Province,Shandong Province and Tianjin, the journal set its columns reasonably and flexibly, and thus gifted with a short publishing delay. The coauthor degree and cooperation rate were less than the journals in other fields, and the number of foundation-supported articles, also less than others, but was increasing yearly. Conclusion Chinese Medical Equipment Journal, with a high-quality manuscript source and great influence in the field, can be considered as a platform for communication and academic achievements publishing.

BACKGROUND:Now most of the researches on transplant hair are based on the patients with enough hair, but there is no apparent corrective effect for large area of alopecia. Implanted artificial hairs can solve this problem. OBJECTIVE:To make and evaluate the γ-aminopropyl triethoxysilane/polypyrrole/polyester (KH-550/PPy/PET) composite monofilament as implanted artificial hairs, and to carry out cytotoxicity tests using NCTC clone 929 cels with composite monofilament.
METHODS:KH-550/PPy/PET composite monofilament was prepared in a series of steps, including pre-spotting, alkali treatment, silane coupling agent treatment and polypyrrole coating. The viability of NCTC clone 929 cels were detected after 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 days of co-culture with composite monofilament by using cellcounting kit-8.
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:KH-550/PPy/PET composite monofilament had a smooth surface without crack. The PPy films did not come off accidentaly and had good wearability. After alkali treatment, PPy quality on the surface of monofilament was significantly heavier than before. Using silane coupling agent (KH-550) could effectively enhance biocompatibility and binding force of polyester monofilaments. After co-cultured with composite monofilaments, the viability of NCTC clone 929 cels was 100%, 80.37%, 73.26%, 81.96%, 77.50% at days 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 respectively. The level of cytotoxicity was grade 1. The results show that KH-550 can effectively enhance the binding force between PPy and PET monofilament, and the prepared KH-550/PPy/PET composite monofilament has good biocompatibility and no acute toxicity.

In this study, we explored the feasibility of biotin-mediated modified polymeric micelles for pancreatic cancer targeted photodynamic therapy. Poly (ethylene glycol)-distearoyl phosphatidyl ethanolamine (mPEG2000-DSPE) served as the drug-loaded material, biotin-poly(ethylene glycol)-distearoyl phosphatidyl ethanolamine (Biotin-PEG3400-DSPE) as the functional material and the polymeric micelles were prepared by a thin-film hydration method. The targeting capability of micelles was investigated by cell uptake assay in vitro and fluorescence imaging in vivo and the amounts of Biotin-PEG-DSPE were optimized accordingly. Hypocrellin B (HB), a novel photosensitizer was then encapsulated in biotinylated polymeric micelles and the anti-tumor efficacy was evaluated systemically in vitro and in vivo. The results showed that micelles with 5 mol % Biotin-PEG-DSPE demonstrated the best targeting capability than those with 20 mol % or 0.5 mol % of corresponding materials. This formulation has a small particle size [mean diameter of (36.74 ± 2.16) nm] with a homogeneous distribution and high encapsulation efficiency (80.06 ± 0.19) %. The following pharmacodynamics assays showed that the biotinylated micelles significantly enhanced the cytotoxicity of HB against tumor cells in vitro and inhibited tumor growth in vivo, suggesting a promising potential of this formulation for treatment of pancreatic cancer, especially those poorly permeable, or insensitive to radiotherapy and chemotherapy.

Cholesterol-degrading strains was isolated from traditional koumiss. The effects of Lb. casei Zhang on the total serum cholesterol (TC) , triglycerid (TG), high density liporotein-cholesterol (HDL-C) low density liporotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) were investigated in artificially-induced hyperlipemial rats. The results showed that only heat-killed cells of Lb. casei Zhang significantly reduced serum TC (P

Objective To explore the abnormally functional brain regions of female patients with depression by resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI),and analyze the correlation with the severity of depressive symptoms. Methods 32 female patients diagnosed with depressive disorder and 40 matched healthy controls completed resting state fMRI scans. The whole brain's regional homogeneity (ReHo) and amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation(ALFF) were calculated, and the correlation analysis be tween ReHo and ALFF of brain regions with significant difference and the severity of depressive symptoms was conducted. Results Compared with control group, the left precuneus/left cuneus (MNI:-18,-81,45),bilateral precentral gyrus (MNI:-58,-5,35 and 57,-6,33),left inferior parietal lobule (MNI:-42,-36,45) and right inferior temporal gyrus(MN1:60,-45,-18) (P<0.05,corrected by AlphaSim)in the case group showed significantly decreased ReHo,with statistical significance.Compared with control group, the left cuneus(MNI:-3,-87,30),right inferior temporal gyrus(MNI:60,-48,-18) and left precentral gyrus(MNI:-63,-3,26) (P<0.05,corrected by AlphasSim)in the case group showed significantly decreased ALFF.The ReHo in the right inferior temporal gyrus was negative correlated with the HAMD-17 total score and retarda tion factor(r=-0.484,P=0.017;r=-0.408,P=0.048),the ALFF in the right inferior temporal gyrus was positively correlated with weight factor(r=0.574,P=0.003),and negative correlated with the number of depressive episodes(r=-0.416,P=0.043).Conclusion Female with depression in resting state have several abnormally functional brain regions and the extent of damage is correlated with the severity of depressive symptoms.Combination of the two parameters may yield a more comprehensive pathophy-siological mechanism for depressive disorder.

Animal medicine is an important part of traditional Chinese medicine with a long application history in China. Systematically understanding the history of the development of animal medicine is of great significance to scientific protection and rational use of animal medicine resources. It has certain guiding significance to protection of wild resources, exploitation of new substitutes, standardization and summary of artificial breeding, and artificial reproduction technology. Taking the development of bezoar as an example, this article expounded the following four aspects:the development history of animal medicine, national animal protection, technical development, and prospect forecast by summarizing the Chinese ancient medical books and consulting the relevant laws and regulations. The entire above are about to offer new ideas for the sustainable development, the development of new medicine resources, and the development of animal medicine related preparation product.
