1.Effects of Inhibitor of Growth 4 on the Proliferation,Migration and Expression of Angiogenesis Related Factors in Endothelial Cells

Objective To investigate the effects of inhibitor of growth 4(ING4)on the proliferation,migration and the expression of angiogenesis related factors such as VEGF,MMP-2,MMP-9 in endothelial cells. Methods Human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)were cultured in vitro;ING4 plasmid and siRNA were constructed and transfected to HUVECs;the proliferation of HUVECs was evaluated by MTT assay;the ability of migration was evaluated by Transwell assay;real-time PCR and Western blotting were used to determine the expression of mRNA and pro-tein of angiogenesis related factors such as VEGF,MMP-2,and MMP-9. Results MTT and Transwell assay showed that ING4 has the ability to inhibit the proliferation and migration of HUVECs,and the results of real-time PCR and Western blotting proved that ING4 can inhibit the expres-sion of angiogenesis related factors such as VEGF,MMP-2,and MMP-9. Conclusion ING4 can inhibit the proliferation and migration of HU-VECs,down-regulate the expression of angiogenesis related factors such as VEGF,MMP-2,MMP-9,and inhibit angiogenesis.
2.Implication of UK Defective Medicinal Products Guide for China

OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for the improvement on the management of defective medicinal products in China.METHODS:The current UK Defective Medicinal Products Guide and drug recall cases were analyzed and its implication on China was discussed.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:The mature defective medicinal products management experiences in UK serve as a mirror for drug safety work in China.At present,the drug safety work can be intensified through clarifying the definition of defective drugs,establishing effective information exchange channel for the defective drugs,establishing evaluation system about records of drug complaints,formulating scientific operational strategies for the recall of defective medicinal products and establishing matched information distribution channel.
3.Research on Adverse Drug Reactions Involved Legal Obligations

OBJECTIVE:To make sure who is liable for Adverse Drug Reactions(ADRs)and what kind of legal obligation should they bear and how to bear.METHODS:The concerned laws and regulations were studied by literature research method and comparative study method.RESULTS:The legal obligations involved in ADRs were tort liability and administrative liability.The obligation attribution principles were different.The fault principle should be applied to the unpredicted“develop_ mental danger”of drugs.CONCLUSION:The compensatory and relieving acts related to ADRs damages should be formulated in China.
4.Pondering on the Concept of Marketing Internationalization of Traditional Chinese Medicine

OBJECTIVE:To provide references for China in the formulation of international marketing strategy of tradi?tional Chinese medicine(TCM).METHODS:Related literatures were referred to and the current international marketing con?cepts of Chinese traditional medicine in China were analyzed.RESULTS&CONCLUSION:The internationalized target market for TCM is indefinite,the international market demand is unknown,the propaganda is without a definite aim,and the language platform for international academic communication is insufficient.It is suggested that the target market for TCM should aimed at general nursing,chronic and stubborn diseases,the efficacy and safety of TCM should be verified by control experiment and cost-effectiveness analysis,the international communication abilities of TCM and its practitioners should be improved so as to facilitate the internalization of TCM.

OBJECTIVE:To discuss the routes for research and development of traditional Chinese medicine.METH?ODS:Comparative and multi-phase thinking methods were used to analyze the difference and commonness between tradi?tional Chinese medicine and Western medicine,then the research and development goals and routes of traditional Chinese medicine were established.RESULTS&CONCLUSION:Research and development of tradition Chinese Medicine should be carried forward on the basis of"tradition",that is modern methods combined with traditional theories,or modern methods combined with modern theories.In other words,the same goal can be achieved by different routes.
6.Expression of P-glycoprotein in brain tissue and peripheral blood in refractory epileptic rats with amygdale kindled by electricity and kainic acid

Objective To explore the possible mechanism of over expression of P-glycoprotein(Pgp) in brain tissue and peripheral blood in refractory epileptic rats with amygdale kindled by electricity and kainic acid,and compare the expression tendency of Pgp in brain tissue and peripheral blood of the different ways to establish refractory epileptic rats models.Methods The models of refractory epileptic rats were made by electrical kindling and kainic kindling in amygdale.Group A was for amygdale-electrical-kindling rats(n=12),group B was for amygdale-kainic-kindling rats(n=12),group C was implanted electrode without kindling and Carbamazepine was given by gavage(n=8),group D was injected saline in amygdale and Carbamazepine was given by gavage(n=8),group E was implanted electrode without kindling and saline was given by gavage(n=8) and group F was injected saline in amygdale and saline was given by gavage(n=8).The expression of Pgp in brain tissue and peripheral blood was detected by immunohistochemistry in each group.Results The expression of Pgp in brain tissue and peripheral blood of rats in group A and B were both much higher than those in the other groups and there were statistical differences(all P
7.Patent System and Drug Price under Trade Related Intellectual Property System

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the relations between patent system and drug price under TRIPS(trade related intellectual property system).METHODS:The impact of patent protection on drug price in less developed countries,developing countries and developed countries,and the related measures taken against unfavorable prices under the TRIPS system and their advantages and disadvantages were analyzed.RESULTS &CONCLUSIONS:Patent protection did result in the increase of pharmaceutical price to some degree.The related measures such as compulsory licensing and parallel imports under the TRIPS system contributed to the decrease of the influence of patent protection over drug price,but by which the contradiction between patent system and drug prices can't be solved in the long run,futher exploration needs to be done to solve this problem radically.
9.An experimental study on the effects of cilazapril and valsartan on atrial structural remodeling in atrial fibrillation dogs

Objective To investigate the effects of Cilazapril and Valsartan on atrial structural and functional remodeling and its mechanism in atrial fibrillation(AF)dogs induced by chronic rapid atrial pacing.Methods Twenty-seven AF dog models were built by the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University from Mar.2006 to Oct.2006.The experimental dogs were randomly divided into sham-operated group(n=6),control group(n=7),Cilazapril group(n=7)and Valsartan group(n=7).The dogs in control group,Cilazapril group and Valsartan group were paced at 400 bpm for 6 weeks.The dogs in Cilazapril and Valsartan group received Cilazapril(1 mg?kg-1?d-1)and Valsartan(30 mg?kg-1?d-1)1 week before rapid atrial pacing until pacing stop respectively.Transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiographic examinations were performed to detect changes in structure and function of left atrium and left atrial appendage,before and after 6-week rapid atrial pacing.Atrial collagen volume fraction(CVF)was analyzed by Masson staining.The expression of ERK1 and ERK2 in the atrial tissue were tested by immunohistochemistry.TUNEL technique was used to detect the atrial cell apoptosis.Results (1)Compared with the control group,the LA and LAA volumes were significantly smaller,LAEF,LAAEF,V-LAA+ and V-LAA-were dramaticaly higher in the Cilazapril group and the Valsartan group after 6-week rapid atrial pacing.(2)Compared with the control group,the incidence of apoptosis,CVF and the expression of atrial ERK1 and ERK2 decreased dramatically in the Cilazapril group and the Valsartan group.Conclusion Cilazapril and Valsartan could prevent atrial fibrosis and cell apoptosis in the atrial fibrillation dogs induced by chronic rapid atrial pacing.
10.Distribution and Drug-resistance of Staphylococcus aureus in Intensive Care Unit

OBJECTIVE To investigate the resistance of Staphylococcus aureus,includ MRSA and MSSA,to antimicrobial agents in intensive care unit(ICU),and to provide basis for clinical therapy.METHODS K-B disk diffusion method was used to determine the drug susceptibility of 171 strains of S.aureus,and meticillin-resistant S.aureus(MRSA) was detected by using the disk diffusion method according to NCCLS/CLSI.RESULTS In ICU,S.aureus was isolated mostly from the respiratory tract,urine tract and blood.MRSA made up 57.89%.For MRSA and MSSA,no resistance against vancomycin and norvancomycin was observed.The resistance rates of MRSA to other agents were as follows: chloramphenicol 20.45%,and minocycline 20.45%.While the resistance rates of MSSA to other agents were as follows:cefazolin 6.25%,and amikacin 6.25%,minocycline 9.38%.CONCLUSIONS MRSA shows the multidrug resistance.Pathogenic monitoring,keeping the patients apart,rational utilization of antibiotics,medical facility sterilization strictly and intensive hand hygiene are very important to prevent MRSA infection.
