Objective To explore the usage of anatomic al M-mode echocardiography in observing pulmonary artery motion curve of pulmonary hypertension patients.Methods The subjects included 21 pulmonary hypertension patients complicated with tricuspid valve insufficiency, and 21 controls whose age and gender matched with the patient group. The inner diameter of main pulmonary artery and right atrium, acceleration time of pulmonary valve Doppler signal and maximum velocity of tricuspid insufficiency (ACTpv) were measured during routine echo examination. From the maximum velocity of tricuspid insufficiency the pulmonary artery systolic pressure (PASP) was calculated. The pulmonary artery motion curve and pulsating amplitude of pulmonary artery wall (PAWPA) was observed and measured with a home-made anatomical M-mode echocardiography with instrument. Objective: To investigate the correlation of transdermal delivery in vitro and in vivo with Zhibitong Cataplasm. Methods: Single-chamber diffusion cell was used and sinomenine concentration was determined by HPLC in vitro. In vivo tests, W-N method was applied to calculating the cumulative absorption of concentration by plasma drug concentration in rats. And the linear regression equation was figured through the concentration of cumulative in vitro and the concentration of cumulative absorption in vivo. Results: The regression equation was Y=0.097 24 X+0.323 91, r=0.955 1 and there was a high correlation between in vitro transdermal delivery and in vivo percutaneous absorption. Conclusion: This method can be used to evaluate the correlation between in vitro and in vivo transdermal delivery.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the associated risk factors for the infected patients in respiratory intensive care unit(RICU) and to study the resistance of isolates.METHODS To study the bacterial spectrum and drug resistance test of all the patients with hospital acquired infection from Jan to Dec 2005.Identification and antimicrobial susceptibility were determined with the methods of API and K-B,respectively.RESULTS A total of 265 strains were isolated from 117 patients,the rate of isolation of Gram-negatives was the highest(74.3%),the species were predominated by Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Acinetobacter baumannii and Klebsiella pneumoniae,the rates of isolates were 28.68%,23.02% and 5.66%,respectively.The predominated species of Gram-positives was Staphylococcus aureus.Gram-negative bacilli were susceptible to imipenem and meropenem,there were not vancomycin-resistant strains.CONCLUSIONS It is important to realize the associated risk factors of infected patients in RICU and to promote the rational use of antimicrobial agents.

Objective To evaluate the implication of LEEP cervical conization on the outcome of subse-quent pregnancy. Methods The study group comprised 85 women who had a LEEP in Renmin Hoapital of Wuhan University during Jan. 2005 and Jan. 2007 ,and then had a subaequent pregnancy. 109 control women were extracted from outpatient clinic who received antenatal care in the same period with no history of cervical surgery, matching by age, health condition and perinatal stage. The pregnancy outcome of two groups were analyzed. Results Women who had a LEEP were more likely to give preterm delivery than controla (9.88% va 3.70%). But there waa no differ-ence in preterm delivery(χ2=2.97, P>0.05). So were low birth weight infants, preterm premature rupture of mem-branes (pPROM) or cesarean section. On a further study, we found that the time interval between cervical conization and subsequent pregnancy was associated with risk of preterm birth. The shorter time interval, especially shorter than 6 months,the higher risk of preterm birth. Conclusions LEEP cervical conization is not associated with an in-creased risk of preterm delivery, low birth weight infants, pPROM or cesarean section. LEEP conization is a more sol-id choice for women who want to preserve reproductive function. But it would be better for them to have pregnancy plan six months later.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of clinical pathway teaching methord in nursing practice teaching. Methods80 junior college nursing students were randomly divided into control and experimental groups. Traditional clinical teaching method was given to control group, while the clinical pathway teaching method was given to observation group. Scores of comprehensive quality after departmental rotation and satisfaction rates of nursing students to teaching method in these two groups were evaluated. ResultsThe experimental group was significantly better than the control group ( P＜0.05 ), and the difference was statistically significant. ConclusionThe clinical pathway can significantly improve the quality of nursing practice teaching.

Objective To investigate the histological and biochemical responses associated with periprosthetic osteolysis,including the changes of tumor necrosis factor-?(TNF-?),osteoprotegerin(OPG) and os- teoprotegeria ligand (OPEL) in the interface membrane in rat models so as to understand the mechanisms of these interactions.Methods Twenty-four male SD rats were used in this study.A titanium alloy plug was inserted into each distal femur through the knee joint.Polyethylene particles were injected into the left knee at 2,4,6,8 and 10 weeks after implantation of the plugs.Saline solution was injected into the right knee as the control.The animals were killed 12 weeks after implantation.The distal femur was taken from each knee to make histological sections. The samples were made decalcified and stained with hematoxylin and eosin.The histopathological changes were observed under a light microscope.The concentrations of TNF-?in the membrane were assayed by a ELISA kit and the mRNA expressions of OPG and OPEL extracted from the tissue around the plug were detected by RT-PCR. Results The interface membrane taken from the experimental side was found to contain extensive fibrous tissues which extended deeply into the surrounding hone.TNF-?concentrations in the membrane of the experimental side were higher than in the control membrane.There was a significant decrease of OPG mRNA and a significant increase of OPGL mRNA in the membrane around the plug at the experimental side compared with the control side.Con- clusions Polyethylene particles can induce inflammatory responses around the titanium alloy plug.The increase of OPGL expression and reduction of OPG expression in membrane at the experimental side may be induced by TNF-?. Such changes might contribute to the differentiation of osteoclasts and result in the periprosthetic osteolysis.
