Alcoholic liver disease ( ALD ) , a chronic progres-sive disease, threatens human health seriously. An increasing number of studies have shown that gut flora dysbiosis plays an important role in the development of ALD. Intestinal microbiota maintains a steady state under normal conditions, regulating gut flora normal physiological function. However, chronic alcohol consumption produces intestinal bacteria overgrowth and dysbio-sis, including the alteration of the composition of intestinal mi-croflora, the increment of gut permeability and bacterial translo-cation. Subsequently, the host immune is activated, promoting the production of inflammatory cytokines in liver, which plays a central role in the development of ALD. Notably, the supple-ment of prebiotics or probiotics reverses the intestinal flora disor-der,ameliorating the clinical symptoms effectively in ALD pa-tients. The evidence impies that the modulation of dysbiosis may be effective in the prevention and treatment of ALD. This review summarizes the research progress on the mechanism of the devel-opment of dysbiosis-mediated ALD, to provide a theoretical basis for the research on intestinal flora and ALD.

Objective To study the relationship between hepatitis B virus(HBV)pre-S gene mutations and progression of liver disease. Methods The entire pre-S1,pre-S2 genes were amplified hy nested polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and the products were digested by NlaⅢ.The method for detecting pre-S2 start codon mutation was established based on the digested restriction fragment length polymorphism(RFLP).Pre-S gene deletion was revealed by electrophoresis on polyacrylamide gel(PAGE).Pre-C A1896 and basic core promoter T1762/A1764 mutations were identified by direct sequencing of PCR products. The 138 sera from patients with HBV-related disease, including asymp- tomatic carriers(ASC),chronic hepatitis(CH),liver cirrhosis(LC),hepatocarcinoma(HCC),were tested by these methods. Results The detection rate of pre-S deletion mutation was higher in patients with HCC(56.3%)and LC(42.9%)than those with CH(11.8%)and ASC(8.1%,P

Objective:To investigate the current status of emotion regulation self-efficacy and self-esteem,to explore the influencing factors and the correlation among middle school students, thus to provide reference for mental health education to schools. Methods:A sample of 995 junior middle school students was selected from 2 middle schools in Yanta District,Xi'an City.A questionnaire survey was conducted using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Emotion Regulation Self-Efficacy Scale.Data was analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software. Results:Both self-esteem (29.2 ± 4.7) and emotional regulation self-efficacy (44.1 ± 8.8) were at the medium level. The influence factors of self-esteem included academic performance, mother's education level, whether parents quarrel, and personality type (P < 0.05),while the influencing factors of self-efficacy included academic performance, mother's education level, whether parents quarrel, and personality type, study and living type (P <0.05).Self-esteem and emotion regulation self-efficacy was positively correlated (r =0.412,P <0.05).Conclusion:The overall level of self-esteem and emotion regulation self-efficacy of middle school students is not high.Academic performance, mother's educational level, whether parents quarrel, personality type affect self-esteem and emotion regulation self-efficacy at the same time, which should not been ignored in mental health education.

To investigate the distribution of the genes of two major metallo-beta-lactamases (MBL; i.e., IMP and VIM) and class 1 integrons (intI) in the clinical imipenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a total of 65 isolates, from a university hospital in Sichuan between December 2004 and April 2005 were screened for MBL genes by PCR using primers specific for bla ( IMP-1 ), bla ( VIM ) and bla ( VIM-2 ) genes. The MBL-positive isolates were further assessed for class 1 integrons by PCR using specific primers. The nucleotide sequences of several PCR products were also determined. The results revealed that the bla ( VIM ) gene was found in 81.5% (53/65) of all isolates, bla ( VIM-2 ) gene was found in only 1 isolate and the intI gene was observed in 45.3% (24/53) of bla ( VIM )-positive isolates. One isolate carried simultaneously both bla ( IMP-1 ) and intI genes, and to the best of our knowledge this is the first report of such isolate in southwest China. These observations highlight that the genes for VIM beta-lactamase and class 1 integrons were predominantly present among the imipenem-resistant P. aeruginosa tested, confirming the current widespread threat of imipenem-resistant, integron-borne P. aeruginosa.

Aim To investigate the effect of salidroside on the phenotypic expression of osteoblast and the possible molecular mechanism in hypoxia environment. Methods MTT, Annexin V/PI double staining, alkaline phosphatase(ALP) activity assay and enzyme-linked immnosorbent assay(ELISA) were performed respectively to detect the effect of salidroside on regulating phenotypic expression of MG-63 cells exposed to hypoxia. Then RT-PCR and Western blot were conducted to detect the expression levels of Osterix and Runx2 which were related to differentiation. At last, we investigated the expression levels of components of the HIF-1α pathway by RT-PCR,Western blot and ELISA, respectively.Immunofluorescence confocal microscope technology and luciferase reporter assay were performed to explore nuclear translocation and transcriptional activity of HIF-1α.Results Salidroside could markedly promote MG-63 cell proliferation, inhibit hypoxia-induced apoptosis, stimulate cell differentiation and promote expression levels of components of the HIF-1α pathway in hypoxia environment. Conclusion Salidroside could regulate phenotypic expression of MG-63 cells through HIF-1α/VEGF signaling pathway in hypoxia environment.

Objective:By applying moxibustion to the eight confluent points in different periods of time,to observe the changes in thermal pain threshold latency of acupoints based on Fei Teng Ba Fa.Methods:A total of 468 healthy college student volunteers received moxibustion at the eight confluent points in three different periods of time,i.e.Chen (7:00-9:00),Wu (11:00-13:00) and Xu (19:00-21:00).The thermal pain threshold latency was adopted to measure the changes in pain threshold of the eight confluent points under different conditions (different periods of time, different genders, different acupoints and different states of the acupoints) based on Fei Teng Ba Fa.Results:Finally, thirty subjects dropped out and 438 subjects were included. The comparison of thermal pain threshold latencies of the eight confluent points in the same opening or closing state based on Fei Teng Ba Fa:latencies of the closing points and adjunct points were significantly different in different periods of time (P<0.05);the latencies of the males were significantly longer than those of the females (P<0.05);there was no significant difference in the latency between the left and right sides (P>0.05);in the female group, there was a significant difference in the latency between the lower-limb points and the upper-limb points (P<0.05).The comparison of thermal point threshold latencies of the eight confluent points in different opening or closing state:in the period of Wu (11:00-13:00),the latencies of the opening points were significantly longer than those of the closing points and adjunct points (P<0.05);for men, their opening and closing points had significantly longer thermal pain threshold latencies than their adjunct points (P<0.05);despite the gender, the latencies of the upper limb opening and closing points were significantly longer than the latency of the adjunct points (P<0.05);in the female group, the latencies of the lower-limb opening points were significantly shorter than those of the lower-limb closing and adjunct points (P<0.05).Conclusion:Based on Fei Teng Ba Fa,the pain thresholds of the eight confluent points vary in different periods of time, gender, acupoint location and opening/closing state, which can be taken as the evidence of making time-based acupuncture-moxibustion prescriptions.
